The first time they faced each other according to the written record was in the finals of the 1986 World Amateur Championships in Reno, NV. They did meet again in the finals of the 1991 World Amateur Championship which took place Sydney, Australia with Savon winning again. This was the tournament he stopped Tua in the semi's and Kirk Johnson in the quarter's. Savon went on to beat Kirk Johnson again in a video I posted on this channel just do a search to find it.
who the fuck is that commentator ? vanderlijde was an international top amatuer for yyyyyeeearss . he went to three olympics , and got bronze three times .

I saw Vanderlyde this evening at the chinese takeaway (I live in Geleen, the netherlands)
They fought four times with Savon winning all four but never on a stoppage...

klopt, maar hij had wel gelijk. Arnold....ik heb het ook nooit begrepen.....hij kon er geen zak van.

Als je het commentaar hier hoort dan wordt het duidelijk waarom Arnold nooit pro is geworden. Arnold zou het simpelweg nooit gered hebben met zijn kwaliteiten. Hij was te bang en had te weinig kracht. Begrijp me niet verkeerd, ik vind Arnold een fijne kerel maar als bokser totaal mislukt. Geen vechters mentaliteit en zijn motoriek is ook nooit goed geweest.
