The change of the reference point basically means this: previously the game used the grip and position data from the rear wheel for doing bike lean calculations, and now it has been changed to use the front wheel instead. Essentially the virtual rider used to "feel the track" through the rear wheel, not the front. With it changed to the front wheel the steering should feel slightly more precise and responsive, though the effect is subtle.
As for the OEM update, yeah we were waiting for this game update to continue working on the OEMs, but unfortunately that doesn't mean we have an almost finished update just waiting to be dropped. There is still a lot of work to be done and other pieces that we are waiting on before we can finish the full update (irl bike data for new bikes, model changes, rebuilding most bikes, further testing etc), but importantly this game update allows us to move forward with developing and testing our new tyres with more people. Previously these tyres only worked on the development build of the game which luckily a few of our head members have access to, but without being able to get more feedback from a bigger group further development had to wait. Now the tyre bug is fixed and we can start finetuning the tyres with a bigger test group. But a full OEM update is still a fair way off
i think the grip amount on the front tire for OEMs are perfect, the back needs to be able to spin up really easy. the thing with guys being on absolute cocaine with lap times would be better fixed with some sort of rider injury system or even suspension damage from sending walls etc

for the more mid players like myself the change is way more noticeable, for me its WAY easier to corner now
Troy try riding some of the heavier bikes or the lighter bikes like the 2 strokes and see if you feel a difference in how they handle. The heavier bikes may actually handle better and the lighter bikes may have less front tucks. Would be cool to see if that’s the case. Also front tire width may play a bigger role in the turning now as well.
I like it, if you try and push a rut too hard now you get front end twitchiness instead of just barrel rolling off the rut instantly. Seems more realistic now, not perfect of course but better
@@HeavyK_MXB I found that I have to lean more forward to turn better instead of leaning backwards like before and the bike wants to do less wheelies. Whips feel cleaner, the bikes feel more stable overall. I’m still trying to get used to it though. lol
Some of the ARL tracks require you to keep SO Much momentum on 250s that I'm worried making the tires less grippy will make it almost impossible to keep the drive you need for the larger jumps out of corners. Hopefully they don't overdo it.
See the biggest change when roll steering with the left stick. Feels way better if you roll your steering from left to right or right to left while pushing the stick forward. Rather than just moving the stick left to right.
With the physics change I noticed that casing is way easier get away from when landing with the front end
i understand it like this: Before when you leaned you initiated the lean way more with your legs and butt now you use your hands and arms to initiate it idk might be dumb lol
I haven't been able to play much sense the update, but i feel like the change makes leaning forward in some corners actually beneficial now

Open steam, change automatic update setting to priority, and then restart steam. I had the same issue and that worked for me. Bro there’s so many issues with this game that nobody seems to be able to help with. Hope this helps.

i think i can tell the biggest difference when im on the HUSKY 450. does not front tuck as bad or as easy as it did pre update. or at least that's how it feels to me and the best way i can explain the difference that i can tell right off the rip.

Although subtle, the bikes feels extremely more predictable. It reacts to what the front tire comes into contact with, making it feel much more intuitive and not as random, which in return makes cornering more consistent. I think it’s a HUGE W.
How can you use subtle and extreme in the same sentence?
@@boogalo781 haha because I’m referring to only the bike handling in turns. So it’s “subtle” change that only affects one aspect, but that one subtle aspect that it changes is, in my opinion, an extremely more predictable feeling.

coming from a noob with only 70 hours in the game i feel a difference especially when taking inside corners
"less grip" would be fine, they just need it balanced between front and rear tires, then we can tune to our liking from there. Before today, we are all just tuning to get the front tire to go around the corner at all and not slide out and push right off the berm... like wtf I have to downshift 18 times and slow the rear down just to not push the front tire off the berm.
Ever since the update, I can load into the game and do everything like normal, but when i go to go to track in practice the game insta crashes.
As someone 1 who has only been playing for 3 weeks I can tell little difference for me in the corners and I’m on a Suzuki 250

As someone who just hopped back on to play a bit and had absolutely no idea about this update I did notice I was tucking the front a lot more than usual and was wondering what was going on.

Love your videos and this game. I am an older guy (47) and struggle with the mods end of it. I had a free copy of winzip at one time and figured out how to get some bike skins, gear and tracks. I don't have the Newer bikes, sound mod, tire mods all the good stuff. Any suggestions on what program to use for the zip files? Any and all help appreciated. Again I love your videos they are great. Your fast at this game.
winrar is the best, also there are tutorials on youtube that can give you step by step on how to get the new bikes, tracks, and skins

You also don't actually need any software to extract zip files in windows. Windows comes with zip support (not rar support however) and you can actually just open the file in your explorer as if it is a folder

I ride the factory bikes. My skill level isn't good enough to make the OEM bikes perform like I want. Will this work on the factory bikes?

All this effort and they still haven’t made the option to turn off collisions on any online server. They need to worry about their biggest issue first.

Only reason i don't play this game is because i can't stay on the bike for more than 2 corners or jumps vlol. Wish they'd make an easy mode or in game tutorial
Bro no way do the tires have too much grip. If anything make that tire a “pack” and keep that separate from casual to online racing.
The fact that we're able to lean the bike over so far at high speed on a flat corner and barely break traction says enough. Even the fact that we can just rail almost any rut like we're god himself. Plus the traction can be so random at times, I feel it could actually help consistency knowing what the bike is going to do.
@@weewoo174 idk man, with only 100 hrs into the game a lot of tracks paired with some of the bikes already feel like an ice skating rink. Less traction isnt really the answer.

It can't be that hard for our skilled track makers like JV to add invisible walls to the clearly cheater lines and funny jumps that only work because its a video game, which ruins the racing.

anyone having issues when going "to track" on any non Piboso bikes?
what an amazing change! half of the bullshit piboso "physics" were because you couldn't predict what the bike was going to do! this is a good start! I hope we see more! I have noticed a real distinct difference about NOT staying in the pocket on a turn and the bike wants to just CLIMB. not really sure how to change that but, overall this is a good thing! btw I would strongly recommend dropping the direct lean down a bit on this patch. And ill disagree with you on this change only being small, because the reference point is now a visual instead of having to play on a pogo stickish idea. with the reference point being behind ya

the physics shouldnt be tweaked to close the gap for the 1% of guys who run the pro races. less traction will run more noobs away. the games traction sucks. you will never see someone irl case a jump and slide out. or slide out going up horsepower hill. less traction will increase the things you are saying it would do away with.
Straight line grip and grip through corners is too high, I agree with you but there has to be a spot in the middle. Noobs have to slow down just like us.

press ctrl v at mx bikes main screen in game and in the bottom right corner it will say beta 19. it has updated. mine says beta 18j is the only update available on the steam library feed for mx bikes but in game mine says im on beta 19.
