- At least they ended strong tonight even though Nick sang most of it lol..but it was a very nice performance with nick lachey on stage, obviously a song from his group, performing this song with the group heavily favoured to win...it wasn't a blow out finale night but maybe they're saving that for next week's christmas special? B+
i only wanted to watch the 1st performance but it cant be stopped. Now im here

Personally I think that it shows that Pentatonix knows when to back off and when to be strong. So yes they didn't a lot in the song but at the same time they did. Talented all around in the singing industry

They were supposed to, but Shawn had a last minute issue come up that didn't' allow him to put in practice time with PTX (or any group) so they filled in with Nick. It was supposed to be the 3 judges singing with the 3 top contestants, like in 1 and 2, but Nick was a last minute sub because Shawn couldn't do it. He really wanted to, he was upset he couldn't.

Nick’s voice worked so well with theirs, but you could tell the difference with his more experienced singing. His sound is very polished. Pentatonix was great, but their sound has gotten better over the years and Nick’s matured vocals already had those years on them at this time. Sounded great together!
He's almost twice the age. Your voice actually ages. The 3 leads have only been in there adult sized bodies with adult size vocal cords for a few years. In fact the average American male stops growing at age 18. It may not be only polished in terms of experience on the stage or with show business, is what I'm saying. He's actually been in his body with that voice longer, much longer.

Neither of the two finale-night PTX performances were strong. They were tired - their voices were tired, and none of them were really up for it the same way they were before. However, given the quality of their live performances since then, I'd say they more than made up for it.

Well, i always figured that Kirstie MALDONADO spoke spanish as her first language but I just discovered that, although she is Latina her parents spoke only english at home and she actually speaks very little spanish herself.

I am amazed and just...wow! I am starting a new job and was thinking of taking voice lessons to try to get my voice back, but seeing what they do, really inspired me, because I love music and I love singing, and while I have been told I have a great voice, I wish I could sing the way they do.

That they were willing to let someone who was still a great singer, though maybe not the best they had at their disposal, sing with them. (and lead at that) showed humility on Pentatonix's part. It's not just how good they are as singers, but how good they are as human beings that show's who they really are.
It did show humility on Pentatonix's part, but in a competitive event, taking risks like that, where you trust someone entirely new, who has not been in every rehearsal with you, is just a bit imprudent, in my opinion.

This was so great, and so in tune compared to the other performances... You've really got to give credit to Nick for holding down the pitch of the lead and carrying the song. The harmonies are so much fuller too, with six people! They should consider touring with some "guest stars" :P
