After the head of the Shaolin temple is killed by Kurt Wong (Hwang Jang Lee), a multitude of people set off to find the killer and bring him to justice. Dragon Lang (Dragon Lee) is a member of the temple and is bent on revenge too, packing his belongings and looking for Wong as well. He meets a monk (Martin Chui) who claims to be searching for the killer too, and they are joined by a beggar girl (Seo Jeong-Ah) on their journey. Together the trio head for the estate of Kurt Wong who has added to his martial arts arsenal Korean black magic.

Hwang Jang Li is a badass and easily steals any movie he's in. Dragon is also a great Star and putting these two against each other makes a lot of sense. Great fighting that everyone will enjoy. 👍😊

Hwang Jang Lee is the perfect villain. Not a dumb silly one, always a strong and cunning villain who´s very close to winning. Always does he cause a lot of trouble and hard work for the heroes to beat him. That´s why we like Hwang Jang Lee allthough he plays the villain. He simply does it so good that we wish he would join the light side of Kung Fu.
@@th-pw8pn Personally I think Hwang Jang Lee is the best villain I´ve ever seen in the Kung Fu cinema. He plays the role as villain convincingly. He´s always prepared to go all the way to succeed in his villain-role. Always is he prepared to kill whoever he has to kill to get to the top in a clan, gang or criminal organization. That´s what makes him look both terryfying, strong and convincingly evil. He simply knows how to play like that. I remember he was the topvillain in a Jackie Chan-movie, where he bullied, beated and humiliated Jackie Chan in a way where one would think that Jackie Chan isn´t able to do a comeback as the hero. Hwang Jang Lee is also the only martial artist I´ve ever seen stand on his hands and handle a bo-staff with his feet and fight surprisingly good with it. But I don´t remember the name of the movie.

I watch this movie back in 92 with mi dad on vhs i was 5 year 😛, and i watch it today bring me memorys .🤩
What i truly admire in Hwang Jang Lee and probably others too, beyond is superior technique is his calm countenance when fighting. Many kung fu fighters fight in angry mode drawing their energy from hate and uncontrolled passion for vengeance or dominance, betrayed by their angry faces during fights and silly sounds, Hwang Lang Lee remains in full control of his emotions, he fights with a calm mind which allows the highest form of mastery and does not let emotions blur his mind. You see this from a few superior kung fu actors but there aren't many and they're usually above the lot. A notable counter example of this, someone who lacked self countenance and who let emotions blur his mind and even invited his body to enter a rabied animal hateful violence emotional state, which is the opposite of expert kung fu and what you might see from inferior saturday night brawlers, is Bruce Lee. Yes that's right, Bruce Lee was an inferior kung fu fighter and a filmography and guru BS talk adept. All his films show him fighting only when he reaches the point that emotions take over his self control, that's when he starts to fight. All Bruce Lee copycat actors also have this major flaw including here Dragon Lee. This is NOT the correct way of kung fu but that of inferior practitioners. To cite good examples other than HKL, Mark Long and Steve Long (chess boxing kung fu), Chen Kuen Tai.
True but I also think that Bruce Lee´s heroes have more than enough reason for their fury. All that killing and injustice that happens before they decide to put an end to it.

@@renehenriksen1735 Bruce lee was a mythomaniac he needed serious psychological counselling, that might have saved his life. Ask any professional who made a career from pro fighting. A calm mind is essential for defense and counter. Bruce lee's hate based kung fu was a studio fantasy supported by fitness, this approach is guaranteed to fail in real life. He was terrified of even sparring with a skilled master not because of injury but because he would never have admitted to himself that hate does not work when fighting people of similar technical skills. Forget movies. HWL was a Tae Kwon Do champion who won many tournaments. Bruce Lee was fit and had real technical skills but his mind and nerves was on the wrong self destructive path.

@@renehenriksen1735 Well, most of what i said is pure fact and some of it is subjective interpretation. You can't disagree with the facts but you can with interpretation. Bruce Lee was on a down spiral course from the moment his real life personality became locked to a fantasy narcissistic idea of himself that did not exist except in his movies. If he had kept a healthy kung fu practice with regular self critic by chinese kung fu experts he would have snapped out of his idea of a hate driven fighter. That lead him to a wrong approach to martial arts that is not kung fu, to back injuries, to pain killer pills and to his death.

The bald head man, Shaolin monk, is also a Korean movie star like Hwang Jang Lee, Dragon lee. His real name is Yong ho Kim. The three Korean movie stars armed with martial arts, especially Korean traditional world-wide known Taekowndo dominated Hong Kong's movie industry in the 70's and 80's and as far as the martial arts are concerned they gave a lot of chinese movie stars great inspiration lesson and influence, particularly in the field of Kick. So people enjoyed their brilliant and outstanding kicking motion unseen before they appeared in chinese movies.
Hwang Jang Lee made a big mistake for killing the shaolin abbott as Dragon Lee takes revenge for his death and everyone else who were killed by him!🙏🏿🥋☯️

He is actually the best. His accuracy, composure, speed, timing and true martial arts champion skills (not just a movie famous actor) make him the best. Others only have one or two or rarely three of these skills but never the whole list. Most impressive is his reaction time and counter attacks. Dragon lee for example is explosive but has no defense, no precision, no composure, no timing, and no brain.. bruce lee, has speed but that's about it, he's got zero composure (brawls with a hate filled mind), no timing (he never executes more than a couple combo attacks per camera take), you never see him with advanced kung fu experts doing complicated fights, only a self staged myth on camera, he never partook in expert competitions, was more of a brawler and extremely narcissistic actor/director than an expert at martial arts. Oh but he spoke english and no other chinese did at the time.

Description puts it on the map. Hints on the side: 1st 20 minutes 3 good fights and Warlord Wong tops it off after that. (Marty Chiu Man) is said to be Grand Master of Shaolin Temple. 2 more fights then Dragon loses the food contest. He fights (Baak Wong Gei) in the restaurant. Some fighters are not what they appear to be and hence this comment comes out inaccurate. 54 minute mark is the big showdown with Dragon Lang & Warlord Wong. 108 minute mark the girl's name Miss Poon is finally revealed. Dragon comes to Warlord Wong's place to fight and save Miss Poon. There is quite a good flow of fighting in this movie. NOTE: Warlord Wong's name is NOT mentioned in this film. 2. Baak and Marty are regulars exclusively with Tomas Tang - Godrey Ho films as most have likely noticed.

dragon lee always kind of ruins it for me. His arrogance transpires through his character, lack of humility and ego out of proportion. No brain and a jealous dog. The bad side of kung fu just like bruce lee.

One of the fight scenes in here near the end where Dragon fights the bald guy in brown with the rope right before the main boss fight was featured in an old VHS I have called 'Top Fights of Kung Fu'. I was watching the scene and I was saying to myself..."There's something very familiar about this."
there is nothing top about that fight scene, it's barely average. Dragon lee destroyed his body natural free flow by doing too much body building, his stances look cramped around his shoulders and neck and uncomfortable, he has zero close range defensive move, and his head is always looking downward. He probably didn't last more than a couple years. He is mostly a young muscle ball, with some kicks. His head is as big as his upper body. He is also excessively short.
