Some fantastic tips and techniques there. Liked the way you made the small stones and rocks! Not sure why Tamiya never called their paint ‘round earth’…..maybe they know something we dont? Just sayin’. 😉 Awesome vid!
Thanks mate ! It's a conspiracy, and tamiya are in on it 😀
Superb work👏 👏👍..........if you haven't got a hot wire cutter try using a Bread Knife as it cuts lots of foam products like a saw 👍
Great idea thanks CW Modelling !
Nice video and soo god tutorial! It is so good to see! Ciao!
mmmmm that's so good :)
'ckin amazing mate :D Definitely a lot of great methods that I'll try out on my chernobyl dio! The ground texture/mud mix is a good idea, I find I'm never really happy with pre-made acrylic texture. Nice one!
Thanks mate ! I never tried a pre made, I think I like making a mess :D. Looking forward to the chernobly dio very much.
A great diorama turned out. Just need to fix the inscription. Write correctly: "На немца". I hope the letter "ц" is displayed correctly.
Wow👍
I make my rocks boulders the same sort of way except I mix dry pigments with water then wait for it to dry then break it up, I'll give your technique a go next time! Well done for yet another great video
Many great tips in this super video 👍
I also use the Dax clay. I find best to spread out the pva glue otherwise it oozes out as you press the clay down. Also if the clay is quite thick and the foam base quite thin it will bend the base as the clay dries - use clay thin or a thicker base.
I'm glad you got rid of the picture frame. I too only use EP Foam base and then border with 1mm styrene sheet cut to match the base profile. A good way to cut the base foam is to use a cheap retractable packaging knife. Extend the blade 2 or 3 inches and its flexible enough to cut curved profiles.
Great tip for wood grain - very effective.
👍
Thanks Bob ! Yeah I am too, it just seemed superfluous and detracted from the composition. The clay was only a few mm max on this one I can't afford to wait 3 days for it to completely dry out too !
Good tip on the knife thanks 😀
Superb! My tip for another way of creating small rocks and rubble - just crunch up a piece of dried mortar with a hammer. Gives you some nice fine grit as well.
Thats a great tip Ian thanks !
So many amazing skills out here. Thanks!
Hi James diorama looks fantastic mate it as gave me a few ideas for a diorama of my own.thank you for sharing buddy. Cheers Gary from the Midlands.
Thanks Gary !
Great video. I do like a diorama that tells a story and has atmosphere - nailed it.
Thanks Sera 😀
Sorprendente su trabajo, muy bueno.
Another excellent, well executed and dramatic diorama, James. Your work is so inspirational and always a pleasure to watch. Great ideas and techniques shared so many thanks for showing us what you do so brilliantly.
Thanks my freind, I'm glad you liked it !
I love the barrel with the paint... Nice work
Thanks my freind :)
What a great job! I love the detail and the story behind this diorama. Well done James. Keep up the good work and stay safe mate.
Thanks mate ! Not bad considering I try and avoid dioramas like the plague :p.
Wow looks really good some very good work .
Superb work on the base. Great work all round my friend
Thanks Steve, much appreciated 👍
🤝👌👍
Thankyou Igor 😀
Superb work my friend.....
Everything looks great except for one thing you forgot to add straps to the weapons. Usually tend to use some masking tape and I got an Infinity cutting mat thing that I use to cut straight lines other than that minor little thing amazing work Buddy amazing work
That turned out so brilliant - stunning result! Such a pleasure to watch. Cheers!
Thanks John 😀
Blimey, all lovely in their own right but really gels well as a diorama 😘
Thanks Basil, I'm quite pleased with how it all came together
Beautiful !!!
Thankyou mate !
Excellent mate, a true moment in time in miniature, happy modelling
😉👍
Thanks Tim much appreciated mate !
Cracking job, nice tips and so many lovely details to enjoy!👍👍
As always, great work, both in the build as well as in the video!
Thanks Ron, the support is much appreciated
Great result. The whole Scene looks really lifelike
Thanks mate 😄
Great job, marvellous result and useful tips!
Thanks LZ !
Great diorama 👍👍👍
Great work on this one! That tank is just so cool!
Thanks mate !
THIS IS QUITE GOOD BUT NO DUST DIRT CRATERS SHELL HOLES OR BLAST MARKS .
Not everywhere is scarred in war, sometimes troops might be outmanouvered and give up. Or retreat in the face of superior forces.
Hi
Awesome job!
fantastic diorama, I love the details and the paint job 🔥🔥🔥
Spectacular as always! I love the thought you put into all of the tiny details that really help to tell the story.
Fantastic
ok
I love how you used the clay to "cap" the scalpel as well before using its handle to stir up the plaster mix
I dont remember that I thought I went full rambo
@@lpjmodels Lmao spotted at 5:57, upon second watching it appears it's just some clay that was cut away still stuck to the blade, and less a "cap" lol
Metal rod and heat it hot with a lighter. Might work in a pinch as a hotwire cutter.
I tried a while ago wrapping wire around my soldering iron but in the end it didn't do much. I can get one soon !
@@lpjmodels I want the Proxxon wire cutter but the $200.00 price tag is not easy to swallow.
Love it. Excellent demonstration..
Cheers Chris 🍻
That's turned out really nice . Job well done . 👏
Great job, James 😉👌
Thanks mate !
Bruh, I can hear you Bri’ish accent under water
Lol love how Cockney accent covers the entirety of Britain. Thanks tiktok.
@@lpjmodels I like british accent
I like the story being told here.
Inspirational
Thanks J Mc 😀
Nice work!
Thanks Paul !
They should change the name to Tamiya Round Earth, just to not create confusion :).
Very nice build!
I don't understand what's written on the Marder, I know some russian, but it doesn't compute. I know that they call Germans "Nemtzi", so maybe it is To Germans.
It can be translated as "Fight the German" - or "Go for Germany"
@@Szopen715 "на немцы" ?
🤣 we should put it to the marketing department
Splendid diorama 🙂
Shouldn't that be a red star?
Not according to the reference photos

Here's one of the photos I used
Great work, comrade. Soviet army stopped a nazi machine and saved peoples of Europe
And no what are they doing.?

Thanks Nick !
Excelllent work James, but i have 2 constructive things to tell you . I primarly build armour models, and i absolutley love to make dioramas for them. The first thing are the sides, you can use balsa wood instead of clay, beacose it gives to the scene a cleane look, and thus, its easier for the person that is looking to the scene see the small details , such the bootles, and the second one is the grass, the tufts look really nice, but a little bit uniform, and to similar, and airbrushing more happy green colors on top of it, it makes the scene more voluminose. But i need to say that the composition is brilliant, and very well executed, and I really lovit how the marder , looks on the scene beacouse it looks right in home!! Ecxellent joooooob mate , i hope that this two tips can help you with your next diorama!! Sorry for the large coment !! 😂 Thanks a lot !!
Thanks mate !
Always up for critique or comments,
The edging was tricky. In the past I have cut plywood to size and then filled it in but I was getting burnt out towards the end. If I do another soon I'll be making sure to do the surround first and get the annoying part out of the way !
And great idea with the grass, more colour is always good
Thanks mate !
