I bought one, and like it except.... There are Bass/Treble controls on the remote that are separate from the knobs on the face. Once the bass/treble buttons on the remote are touched, even by accident, there is no way to know how to get the amp back to flat. There is no indication on the front panel showing remote bass/treble adjustment. There is no bass/treble reset button on the remote. Please let me know if I am wrong on this. It is frustrating because I use my WIIM Room EQ feature to set tonal balance, and then have no way to see when my dog adjusted the MC331 settings with the remote.
1. Is this amplifier compatible with 6 or 8 ohm speakers? 2. If compatible with 6 or 8 ohm speakers, does the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) level remain constant? If not, what are the THD levels at 6 and 8 ohm loads? 3. How do different tubes affect the amplifier's sound? Please provide a detailed explanation. 4. Where can I obtain different tubes to experiment with their effects on the amplifier's sound?
Hello. MC331 can drive speakers from 4-8Ω. Regarding THD, a tube amp can not be the same as a pure amp. Tubes add warmth and richness to the sound, which means they bring distortion for sure. This could be a very subjective issue. Some people would love the warmth while others are after a neutral sound, so you would have to experience the difference yourself to decide which suits you better. As for the different signatures in tubes, they can be learned from the manufacturers. :) In the end, this is also a matter of personal preference. Your experience will tell. Happy listening!
I would like to connect my PC with MC331 via usb. How passes the sound from PC to the amplifier ? Does it need a software or drivers ? Is it easy or do I have to open a software every time I turn on the amplifier and PC?
Usually you’d use the provided USB cable. You can also use the optical if you pc has it. Also when you plug it in it should automatically download drivers but you kight need to go to their wensite to download firmware if needed. You wont need software for this
I can not get sound from my Yamaha CD S303 CD player. I asked to return the unit, and they evade the issue. Not cool! I guess I was ripped off. They claim a 30 day return policy, but good luck trying to return it. I learned my lesson buying Chinese products. 🤬
Great design. I use now the P3 and MC 101. This device is both. Bought it today. 111 dollars.
Amazing.
Thanks a lot for your support & happy listening!🥰

👍👍👍
105w max @ 4ohm equates to what rms at 8 ohm?? 25watts? it is not listed in the paperwork in the box or on the website.

@@saucyg6371 Thank you very much :)
How do I connect my Yamaha CD player?
If your CD player has a 3.5mm line-out, you can use a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable to connect it to the MC331.

Do I need a phono pre amp along with this?
If you are using the MC331 in a turntable setup, yes, you will need a phono preamp.
