    Hi there. This is soo helpful! I can’t wait to use this system, the funnel method is definitely new.

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, absolutely. On a digital Mind Map (bc they can be more easily 'infinitely' expanded), you can indeed have multiple root nodes to explore various subjects or themes. This flexibility allows you to expand on different ideas as extensively as you need. Just bear in mind that it’s helpful to exercise some discretion; if you find yourself diving deep into a particular area, it might be more effective to start a 'new map' dedicated to that specific topic if things start to feel to complex. This way, you can keep your Mind Maps organized and focused, while still capturing all the intricate details of your exploration.

    Th nks for this helpful video 🌹
    But ceep in mind that Notion has only an end-2-end cryption. So the company is able to read your private notes. They wont do this, of course, but they are able to. So be careful what you write into Notion 🤘

    How often do you review this planner? Is it as and when or do you have a schedule?

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  3 года назад +1

      Hey Dioneja, I review this pretty often about once every month or so depending on how deep I am on my 2-week sprints. For example, the current and upcoming sprints are focused on launching my website & newsletter which you can see here: prnt.sc/1y75y0b. Inside the website card, I have another kanban board that lays out the steps to launch: prnt.sc/1y76dcm.
      I'll probably do a year-end review video next month of everything I've finished on this board :)

  • @MikeLinton

    Again, thank you for doing this video. After following your channel for a couple of weeks, I finally feel like I have an actionable plan for getting the mind clutter organized and moving forward with ideas, goals and life in general. Have you done a video on how to mind map a book? If so, I would love to see it. Also, I saw in the video that you were going to mind map the Afghanistan mess, can you share?

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  3 года назад +1

      Mike, I'm so happy to hear that! Having that sense of direction and clarity is very powerful indeed. As Paulo Coelho wrote in the Alchemist, “When you want something, the whole universe conspires in order for you to achieve it”. I haven't done a video on mind mapping a book yet and after trying a few times, I actually don't think it's great for outlining a whole book. That's because IMO mind mapping is great at offloading short term memory rather than large pieces of long form content. However, I've had success mapping notable chapters of a book as well as its important concepts. It's also great for 1-2 hour long lectures. Perhaps I'll make videos on how I do that in the near future. Thanks for the idea!
      As for Afghanistan, I actually dedicated an entire week to the endeavor, but my conclusion is that it's easier to map out global climate change than that mess...and that's because climate change involves objective scientific truth whereas Afghanistan is full of conflicting human narratives and perspectives. I did however manage to map out some of those perspectives and historical context so maybe I'll share that. My general conclusions are that 1) don't f' with the Afghanis - it's the grave of empires (Britain, Soviets, and US for a reason, 2) they can always out wait empires (this happened literally 3 times in the last century), and 3) power is fragmented across thousands of small villages rather than in the major cities.

    May I ask how bucket list connect to mid term, mid term to 2 week sprints and 2 weeks sprints to to do daily, I feel it lack of connection =(

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for reaching out with your question. Let me clarify the connections for you -
      Bucket List: This is where you start by identifying your long-term goals or dreams. These are things you want to achieve or experience, often without a specific timeframe. It's about the bigger picture of what you want out of life.
      Mid-Term Goals: These are derived from your bucket list. You look at your long-term aspirations and break them down into more manageable and time-bound goals, typically spanning several months to a year. This step is about making your bucket list items more concrete and actionable.
      2-Week Sprints: This is where you break down your mid-term goals even further. You take these medium-term goals and ask yourself, "What can I do in the next two weeks to move closer to this goal?" It's about short, focused bursts of effort that cumulatively build towards your larger goals.
      Daily To-Dos: Finally, these are the specific actions you take each day as part of your 2-week sprints. They are the smallest, most immediate tasks that, when completed, contribute to the success of your sprints, which in turn help you achieve your mid-term goals and ultimately lead you to fulfilling items on your bucket list.
      The key is to ensure that each level feeds into the next: your daily to-dos should support your 2-week sprints, your sprints should move you closer to your mid-term goals, and your mid-term goals should be stepping stones towards achieving the dreams on your bucket list.
      I hope this explanation helps bridge any gaps you felt were present. Mind mapping and organizing in Notion are powerful tools/approaches, but it often requires some practice and personal adaptation to fully connect all the elements of your planning and goal-setting. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, please feel free to ask. Thanks again for your question and for watching the video!
