I think it might be worth giving it a try. There was water in the Case dozer and it ran and drove, and got bought. So, i think there's hope. Give it a try, i think. Thanks for sharing, Wily!

Hey willy if that a Perkins engine with a gear drivine water pump sometimes the water pump goes bad & leaks the water (coolant) down the timming cover & into the crank case. Really great video please be careful, would love to see you get it running take care and see you on the next video!!!
Wie kann man nur so eine schöne Maschine in Wald verrotten lassen?? Da BLUTET mein Herz. Mein Vater hatte auch so ein MF und ich durfte damit auch fahren und baggern lernen.
Thanks for another great video Wiley and Jacob. It was interesting. Everyone looks at things differently. My opinion after a short look over is not much left there. Water in the engine is a bad sign most often. May be some parts value there but do not see it of value for using day to day. See what your viewers thing and go from there. Thanks Wiley and Jacob. You take care and be safe. Thanks. The Iowa Farm Boy.
Thank you for sharing. Probably not many of these still operating. We thought we were going to get it bought but he turned down 400 and never cane back with offer. I am thinking those old machines running go for cheap 5k at most.
I know where there is an MF backhoe similar to that but I'm not sure the model number but it has been parked for years because the hydraulic pump went out of it it mounts on the front of the crankshaft and they said they could not find one for it
I am not sure if we are going to trade on it. I would have tried it but he turned down 400 offer. I know thats cheap but there is alot wrong with this machine
Looks like it would take some top end work pulling the heads...but bet it would be a good piece of equipment for a small operation. I myself would take it on but got too many irons in the fire now. Looking forward to hearing more about this ole girl...hate to see her scrapped.😎🚜🛠️🇺🇸😇🛻🔧
Hey Wily, thank you for finding these fine old machines and trying to give them a second chance. I'd love to be Wily, for sure. 👍 Watch out for those "rattlers" Wily.
He'll Wiley why do people leave these machines to sit and rust away it's such a terrible waste ,Thank goodness you and other UTUBERS have made a good program out of will it start gives these machines a second chance at working again good on ya mate Cheers Kym Adelaide
@@DontbeWily well my grandfather is going to be laid to rest in Goodman enterprise if ya need help getting that dozer running we had one I can kick the tracks and fire on up
Appears to be a Perkins engine Wiley. Drain the oil mix out of it and fill it back up and give it a try. From my experience you have a bad head gasket. Pull the head off and put a head gasket on it and I'll bet it will fix it and bring it back to life.
@@DontbeWily that would be an easy fix and those were great backhoes back in the day. I worked at a Massey Ferguson dealership and worked on them just because it's mixing oil and water was always about 98% of the time was a bad headgasket sometimes I would take the heas to a machine shop and get it trued up just so the gasket would have a lot less chance of leaking again. But if you get that backhoe I wish you luck my friend. If you do and need advice just holler and I'll tell you what I know.
I had a 1970 MF 30 with a perkins diesel. The machine was beat. But that Perkins ran like a top. The backhoe had a turning drum. Bad design. I prefer turning cylinders. The transmission was great.
Wiley, call Wes - he has extensive knowledge on these MF units. I know he has had engine as well as hydraulic experience on one. I’m sure he could tell you Lots on it. 👍
That's a Perkins engine probably a cracked head but more than likely exhaust is what's to blame if it will turn it will burn diesel they are easy to work on
Wllie better vidoes than you and hank no nosence and straight to the point. But if anyone can make it run again its you . And right up your cornfield lol opps alley. Older is easier to work on tgan than the new junk .more expensive but if it lasted this long well god knows how long it will take to kill it. A different engine for it might be the cheapest way to get er done. Worthy to try it.
Head gasket Wally 🚜 God bless you with that one 🙏🙏 brother Don't be Wally 🚜 straight to make new cars or bullets junkyard brother straight to the cemetery 🪦 LoL 😆 the tractor 🚜.
My only concern might be that it takes longer to clear the jungle than to get this ole girl woke up and snorting. Hold ‘em or fold em, it’s your call. 🥸👍👀✅
Lol. I actually did this video thinking i was going to get it bought and afterwards i would come back and clean around and see what we had. He turned my 400 down Thanks for watching

It's probably a Perkins. Massey used quite a few Perkins engines. It's probably the same Perkins as what's in my uncle's MF165.
