❤ your grandma reminds me of my own grandma. My grandma's sewing style is very much the way your grandma sews. A lot of hand basting, three rows of gathering stitches on a gathered skirt, she really took the proper time to construct a garment well.
We (my daughter and I) love all your videos. Great to hear your Grandma is doing better. New Orleans sends best wishes to her and prayers. ❤ I am 73, and like her I want to be home if possibly. Lots of hugs.
I wish I had been there for the live!! So awesome! Platform worked great. I can’t wait to get Suki’s book! I sewed a corduroy skirt in home ec years ago and still have - can’t fit in it tho. Continued prayers for grandma. Being a RN please keep the IV resource handy. So thankful she is responding to the antibiotics. So hard to watch them when they are sick and knowing when they have made their choice -my dad did this. Love y’all and wish I was closer (AL) to give her hug! ❤❤🙏🙏
Sorry I missed the live, but so happy to hear your grandma is doing better. Please tell her not to stress about having to “teach” us the bound button holes. It would be lovely just to see her and you enjoying your time together, doing something you both love. FYI I did get the notification of the live, but couldn’t jump on.
Thanks Jan. I’ll let her know. I’m hoping she continues to improve each day❤️ Thanks for letting me know about the notification-I never know if they work!
I watch a lot of YT from England to drool over the fabrics and fabric stores they have available. Also impressed withe number of young people sewing there.
Thanks for a fabric course, I get overwhelmed sometimes at the fabric store, there are so many yummy fabrics. I'd love to see a children's sewing channel but understand the restrictions. Maybe on a different platform? Great video! Wishing Grandma all the best!
I think my course will really help understand the basics and provide lots of useful information to buy fabric. Even if the restrictions weren’t as stringent for a children’s channel, I don’t have the additional time to start another channel.
First and foremost I am happy to hear that she is ok, and I hope she gets well. And while I still have it in my memory I want to ask you about a subject I always want to ask the older generations: I have a question for your grandma (and you, it’s your channel and you know if it would be something you would like to do and share with us), if you could.. I would love to hear about the fashion through the years from your grandmother. I would very much appreciate it and if could be something for your channel as well. How you would set it up (if you would do it is your challenge) but I would love to hear about life through the years and if possible to ask questions because she is a treasure!
That is an awesome suggestion. And best of all it’s something I can do with her at her house once she’s feeling better. She has lots of cool stories that she’s shared over the years and I’d love to have them recorded to share with you❤️
@ Im happy to hear that you like the idea! Im always so afraid to offend someone when asking but I would love to hear her stories! And to help her to know what to tell (I know how hard it is to come up with stories when asked and it’s not eased by a leading question) so with that in mind it could be helpful for her memory if you have some questions prepared, example somethings you would like to have recorded for the future perhaps and then asking your audience for whatever questions they would like to ask her about fashion/history or life back in the day. I for example would love to hear about the fashion and life of her grandparents, parents and their life. How they lived puts the clothes in perspective, how big were their wardrobe, how often did they buy new items and how was it when she grew up? I have an never ending stream of questions. Its peaces of living history that I would love to hear about. Whatever you and your grandmother want to share, I would take some tea and a project and just listen and wish I had that recorded with my grandmother.
Then what ever you choose to share, it is up to you and an appreciated treasure for someone like me. Fashion history is so much more than a garment, for me,
@thepovertypear I spoke to Grandma today about making this kind of video and she thinks she will be up for it at the end of the week. Could you email me some more questions??? hello@sewsewlounge.com
Glad your veggies made it! My unkillable oregano is still going strong. I’m glad about Grandma improving too. Hopefully this trend continues and we all get to celebrate her 100th birthday in March.
Reg Joann’s, I’m sure employees are jumping ship. 😢sad for many reasons. I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no garment fabric store in the state of Arizona. So need to learn more about ordering online. I’m new and generally go by feel. ☹️
Sending so much love to Grandma from Inverness, Scotland

There were so many stores in London that I didn’t have time to visit them all!
Prayers to your grandma! ❤ I have the same goal as you. I want to quit my job and sew all day! Starting my RUclips channel this year hopefully!
Thank you so much for your prayers! Good luck with your RUclips channel! ❤️keep me posted when you do 😉
I share your frustration with opening buttonholes. But now I use a buttonhole cutter. It is very precise and you don’t risk cutting too much.
I have one! I just haven't made any buttholes since I bought it😂 Good to know that it works!!
So glad to hear your Grandma is doing better!! The video looks nice and clear. Trying get my sew- jo energy back. Have a great weekend.
Thank Gail! I’m glad Grandma is doing better too. Keep watching seeing videos and you’re sew-jo will come back😉
Best wishes for Grandma. Thinking of you all. 😎🇦🇺
Aww thank you❤️

🤣 I just took mine down after the the livestream.
Could not make the live, but enjoy your videos. 🥰

I just uncovered my vegetable garden and its doing good for 3-4" of snow and sleet. Great grandma is feeling better.
What are you sewing

It’s really a shame. Even with its flaws JoAnn’s is the only national fabric store.
Loved that the new board at joanns had no one from textile or pattern industry...😢
Yeah. It doesn’t bode well for the store staying open.
Isn't Joanne's looking for a buyer?
Yes. But imagine the challenge in finding one after a second bankruptcy.
Still praying for Grandma. Recommend buttonhole scissors for cutting buttonholes. I imagine Grandma knows what I’m talking about.
Thank you DD. I need to get some buttonhole scissors. Thanks for the tip 😉
