See part 7: • Masterclass on Beethov... A series of masterclasses on Beethoven piano sonatas given by great pianist and conductor Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
Spectator Mag You tried, once? xp Technical practice is the easiest practice. Just takes time. Always play stuff as slow as it has to be in order to sound good. The end result is a lot better this way than if you just rush the speed up too quickly. Alas, I am good at teaching others what to do and not to do, but I suck at being my own boss. I think we all are, unless you are someone like Barenboim. There's a reason for that having a teacher makes everything much easier. Do you have a teacher?
some little people say negative comments about maestro baremboim, but i'd rather listen to the opinions of lang lang maxim vengerov etc who ALL think he is a genius..but i have fun reading envious comments also so feel free
anyway the guy was right about the forte at 3:30 in the Simrock's edition (wich is the first one, 1803) there is no indication about the dynamic in that point, as the beginning, so piano remains the right dynamic in order to connect the point to the beginning
I am really amazed at all these horrible comments on David, the student, who is an extraordinary pianist with a beautiful career. Rather turn to work all your instrument and shut up before criticizing people who play better certainly better than you.
But its not about playing the instrument better its about coaching the fine tuning of an expression. better camera does not mean professional photograph, a directer behind that same camera however.
So what, only certain people should be allowed to criticize him? You do him a disservice by assuming he can’t distinguish valid coaching from ignorant trolling. He doesn’t require validation from RUclips comments like you seem to.
Lmao hes breathing so heavily, thats why I dont like when they put the Microphones so close to the mouth. Imagine if he started muttering "Old bastard...lacking strength because im falling my ass" hahha
the only problem here really is the rushing. he has technique and plays with alot of character but its out of tempo. and in a piece with this many rests that can change, even throw off the spirit of the piece. when the tempo is correct it will be perfect, he has a fine sense of musical personality
Believerification we don't know how Beethoven acted. I also have long hair and I move very much while playing. Does that automatically mean I want to act like Beethoven?
We don't? Why not? Because he lived before the time of writing instruments? Oh, were you taught to move while playing? No, that's you trying to steal the show away from the composer, as if playing the piece were the real achievement, and not composing it from thin air.
After seeing this I threw my keyboard across the room. Currently crouched in a ball under my desk rocking back and forth.
Why?
Because I tried to play this lol

a lesson learned (by a talented student with character) ... from a great master ... what privilege to be exposed to his explicitly expressed theses'!
Fantastic as ever!
Very interesting the answer of Daniel B at the end, to interviewer's question!
Never really noticed how small barenboim's hands are.
She is a queen!!!
David burns with the fire of rare musical talent.
@karekore13 You'r right, in the Henle urtext, the Forte isn't untill the next measure!
Thank you!
@karekore13 Depends what version you got. In the Urtext (which should be the most accurate) Barenboim is right.
What a lovely tone that Steinway has, does anyone happen to know what model this is?
thanks a lot!!
"WHY DID YOU PLAY LOUDER?!?!" *Cue Beethoven's 6th -- "storm" movement* Barenboim conducts an experiment on the rushing student!
He reminds me of my teacher!! Oh my god Barenboim is a badass
some little people say negative comments about maestro baremboim, but i'd rather listen to the opinions of lang lang maxim vengerov etc who ALL think he is a genius..but i have fun reading envious comments also so feel free
who is the guy? he is so sensative!!
Why don't you fix the aspect ratio?
anyway the guy was right about the forte at 3:30

Who do we believe? the editors? or the Maestro?
where is beethoven to make things clear? xD
barenboim looks like a drill sargeant at 2:47 drop and give me 50!!lol!!
I bet it took David about 3 days to learn this piece and 4 more days to memorize it.
same here. lol

Completely agree. But welcome to RUclips where so many people don't have any idea what it takes to get to that level.
I LOVE him... he communicates very well... and has all the skills needed.
So what, only certain people should be allowed to criticize him?
You do him a disservice by assuming he can’t distinguish valid coaching from ignorant trolling.
He doesn’t require validation from RUclips comments like you seem to.
is the young pianist struggling or was he just tired?
There are pieces which are like "too much" for somebody, party because of the technical difficulties. But I don't know him, so I cannot judge.
LOL-this guy is like growling under his breath
@beastlybobo that maybe because Lang Lang is more talented than the other 2
Lmao hes breathing so heavily, thats why I dont like when they put the Microphones so close to the mouth. Imagine if he started muttering "Old bastard...lacking strength because im falling my ass" hahha
No
I got -7 don't remember what I said the comment is blank, I erased it, I think?
I guess I'll never know what a fool I was!
:D
@stagesix6 hahahaha
Lang Lang looks tame compared to this pianist! What a spaz!
the only problem here really is the rushing. he has technique and plays with alot of character but its out of tempo. and in a piece with this many rests that can change, even throw off the spirit of the piece. when the tempo is correct it will be perfect, he has a fine sense of musical personality
David Kadouch!!!
HAHA U R FUNNY
Robots than pretend to be genius
wat a punk.
Yeah, get a haircut, drop the dramatics, quit acting like Beethoven, listen to your teacher.
because... people with opinions deserve to be 'picked apart hard"?
No, maybe people with no recorded piano works commenting on something important for musicians.
Believerification we don't know how Beethoven acted. I also have long hair and I move very much while playing. Does that automatically mean I want to act like Beethoven?

Oh, were you taught to move while playing? No, that's you trying to steal the show away from the composer, as if playing the piece were the real achievement, and not composing it from thin air.
Why are you so restrained? I also move very much while playing but unintentionally. How am I stealing someones show then?
