People forget they were 12-5 with no defense at all last year. They were a super bowl caliber team then, if they win out they have reinforcements for the championship game and the super bowl.
Thank you!!! We had all sorts of injuries last year and less talent to begin with on D. People just got obsessed with the defensive improvement and think without it we're cooked. We are more than capable of winning it all with who we put out there last week. And we'll get guys back the next couple weeks.
@@donbur1553yes, but our corner situation was much worse. Once we get CD back... And Anzo... We're better than last year. The missing LB depth sucks. But we're in better shape. The IR numbers are just startling.

Apparently, Sun God has never watched when Palazzolo talks the same non-sense bullshit about Goff as Nick Wright. He's disrespected Goff on multiple occasions with bullshit fantasy football suck off of mobile vs actually being a QB, he's lame as shit
I've been a faithful lions fan for 45 plus years former season ticket holder as well. Trust me there going to win this week. There's no way Minnesota is going into that atmosphere and knocking out the lions. The Vikings have not played these type of games like the Lions have the past couple years. Detroit has always stepped up and it's been their season all year. They may not win the super bowl this might be the end of the season for them after this week but they're not losing this game. They're better team than Minnesota they've been that way all year American to show it at home on Sunday
I highly doubt it's about money. That said there's only so much there can pay and assistant. I think the top assistant might make 2 million a year where head coaches make five times that amount. They're not going to pay an assistant they had coaches salary. That's just not how things work but I don't even think this is about money it's about going to the right situation. The good news is he's so young that there is really no hurry for him to leave. Either way I guarantee you they have a plan in place with somebody already there taking over
@@ItsMe-zr7jb Ben Johnson is waiting for a situation he is interested in. The alignment Owner/GM/Coach that the Lions have is going to be a really difficult measuring stick for potential teams. In the end he knows whenever he decides to go there will be offers. He has said before his family are happy and settled in the area. Let’s hope that will help keep him. He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to become a HC.
S & S made PFF must-- see RUclips watching. After years there, I followed you guys here. Tim is the man for inside 🦁s info, and breaks down the game a lot like Sam does in terms of what to pay critical attention to ala' "drilling down" to 2nd, 3rd, & even 4th level stats breakdown!👀 👍🏾. The game comes down to turnovers & 3rd/4th fown efficiency, especially in the red zone. The other key storyline is whose blitz package wins the day, as both teams will do it at least 55% of all defensive snaps. From that standpoint, as Tim noted, Goff is deadly vs. the blitz. That comes from the receiver connection, and more specifically, that Goff is great at pre & post-snap reads. THAT is the biggest difference between LA-Goff & Det-Goff! Every play that the 🦁s call has 2-3 run/passr options, and then options within those options that Goff can adjust to based on what he is seeing @ the time...which strikes me as more of a "Steve"-type observation from a former pitcher perspective. The action starts with the ball in your hands type insight. There is the game plan, the mound visit and then the notice that the base-runner has widened his lead, like Goff noticing that the Vikes switched to single high & Jamo is 1 on 1 on the outside. I think this game comes down to QB smarts & mistakes, especially forced mistakes.🤔 The really crazy thing is that both QB's are excellent vs. the blitz (Darnold @QB rating of 140.4 vs. blitz), so "how" the expected pressure packages work is important. The game be a test of pressure really for the Vikes. They haven't faced THIS kind of pressure since their 1st game playoff loss to the Giants. By contrast, the 🦁s have played @ this level since 12/22, when they knocked GB out of the playoffs & AR-15 to New York. That '23 season opener with KC presaged the 🦁s " "shine" from then to now in primetime games @ 10-!. 🦁's 35-24 is my guess. ❤🎙💯👍🏾👍🏾 #313GRIT🦁 #WePayTheBills 🤣🤣
Lions fans, remember while watching next week we are going to have to play an aggressive, risky defense. We have to. We will get burnt but eventually itll pay off and we'll get a couple INTs. We just have to score.
Why do teams fear the Lions' offense? Because they got Big D Energy x 5 Jamo, Sonic and Knuckles, La Porta, St. Brown and we got Patrick, Reynolds and others. Yes, Justin Jefferson will get his tuddies, BUT Joseph and Branch will get INTs. Big question: Will #0 Arnold have a career day?
Can the Lions afford to keep both Kirby and Branch? When you consider Iffy will be cheaper but probably not healthy and Gibbs, Jamo, Campbell, Barnes, Onwuzerike, all need deals too and we might need a center next year.
TIM TWENTYMAN wasn't right about the score, but he was spot on about the Lions and Jared Goff. Blitz package or not, Goff reads defenses like he's reading a book.
I love these PFF guys because they don’t just repeat what the ESPN producer said about banged up defense. This defense is better than last years shit show where we lost the NFC with Hutch in the game. Repeat: this defense is better than last year when hutch was in the game 14-2 don’t lie.
You're right except when they lost McNeil now they're not but with that said they're offense is way better than last year and so is your special teams with their kicker. Jameson Williams is taking the offense to a way higher level in Gibbs his matured to add in the new guard they got Kevin z and they are fantastic on offense but the defense is not as good. Add it all up though the team is better
Montgomery is an assistant head coach level he's not the offense coordinator the first response in here mentions the right guy who has been in training for years underneath Ben Johnson
If anyone is a goon, it's Jennings for choking Arnold. He may not always be a dirty player, but that was a dirty play. If a Lions player had choked someone in front of an official, he would have been ejected. Jennings should have been.
Lions are the better team they've been the better team the entire season. It took the MVP of the league and Josh Allen to beat them by 6:00. They absolutely handed Tampa Bay they're only other loss this year. Alliance are just a better team than Minnesota. They may not make it to the super bowl because of all the injuries there's no way Minnesota's going in there and a national TV game and beating the Lions in that environment this weekend. Totally agree, they’ve had numerous games in this atmosphere and this is going to be the loudest of them all, Lions roll, let’s ride.
Detroit lions should consider making Ben Johnson the highest paid coach in the nfl. Try and keep him one more year 🙏🙏🙏✍️

Exactly, pay him what an average hc makes
@patrickmartin6977 right, with this group of guys.. how could any competent oc fail. Other than the trick plays..which is what sets him apart.

Let’s go Saint Brown!!
Talking about trick plays. That pitch play has happened three four times. Each time goes for td or huge gain. No one has been able to cover it.

It's amazing the career games offensive players have had against lions over the last 2 years and still lose the game.
Kerby should be in the conversation but won’t be. Apart from the 9 picks, the role he has played holding the D together has been unbelievable!
