The late Fantasies Op. 116 for solo piano were composed by Johannes Brahms (1833 - 1897) in 1892 and contain seven Capricci and Intermezzi. Only two of them are composed in major, both are Intermezzi in E major. Two Capricci in d minor frame the other pieces. All of them are characterised by contrasts and melancholy.
