The point was that stereotypical men can spend so much time on a particular event and completely ignore their spouses. Or for example for the Super Bowl, they may expect their spouses to cook all the food and not even think to help much less show gratitude for all the effort involved. They can also be isolated to the kitchen during the entirety of the event.
