Hey friends!!!! Thank you so much for coming to watch our weekend in Asheville vlog! We had so much fun even though it was a wet one! Thank you all for always being so supportive!!! Also, I made a “Spend the Day with Me” playlist since so many people have been saying they are loving these videos!!! If you’ve missed any, just click here: ruclips.net/p/PLAoMek1l9m41NC_3UO1ov-GseR166QWhA I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your families!!!! Have a wonderful weekend as well!!! 🤟Amy
Arboretum, Nature Center, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Museum of Science, Asheville Pizza and Brewing on Merrimon has a movie theater with $3 movies and an arcade, if it's warm out Hominy Creek is fun for kids, you can walk along French Broad River over by Carrier Park, Retrocade, Mountain Play Lodge is great on rainy/cold days.
Take the kids to the WNC Nature Center it is small but they have some very cute animals. The WNC Arboretum is absolutely beautiful at Christmas. They have a beautiful light display. If you are going to be in Asheville in the summer, go to Linville Caverns. It about an hour east of Asheville, but where else can you go inside a mountain? There are lots of hiking trails and water falls if that's something you are into. Not to mention shopping!!
Asheville is the town i was raised in. i loved every moment there. My dad was in the movie making union and he worked on a chevrolet commercial there at the Biltmore estate many years ago. i remember going there to take my dad some lunch and it was exciting to see a few the Vanderbilt family, as they lived in the basement part of the house at that time. It is truly beautiful in that part of the state! Enjoy!
hi! I just graduated film school and am thinking about moving to Asheville. can you tell me how your dad got involved in the film scene there or how he liked it?
@@JuliaBergdoll my dad was in the i.a.t.s.e film makers union. He was actually a film protectionist by trade, though he worked in a number of different entertainment areas of the film industry. He joined the union in his youth and continued throughout his career. You might want check out that avenue to aid in your career advancement. I hope this information is of help to you. Best wishes.
My husband and I visited the Biltmore about 20 years ago and saw the Christmas decorations. The grounds were beautiful. Asheville is so pretty in the fall.
My husband and I went to the Biltmore estates and actually stayed on the property 11 years ago. . Beautiful place with beautiful history. The hotel was amazing. And decorated for Christmas is incredibly beautiful. Glad you all enjoyed it and Thanks for sharing. Great memories. Ana
Thanks for taking us along on you Asheville trip! I have been to the Biltmore, but not at Christmas time, so was cool to see it decorated! Also I got a kick out of Gracie June .... future RUclipsr....so cute!
I have lived in Asheville for about 27 years and am from the area. There are many things to do here especially if you like the outdoors. Camping, picnicking, hiking and biking. And there are things to do nearby as well within an hour's drive. Cherokee, NC is a fun place to visit as well. Harrah's Casino is there along with lots of other fun and interesting things to do. Kids would love Cherokee. Go to the Pioneer Homestead. You might see the Elk there. The Grove Park Inn is a fabulous place to visit in Asheville. They have nice restaurants and the view is wonderful. It's decorated nicely at Christmas as well. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure is close by as well as Maggie Valley.
I love Biltmore House. Been several times at different seasons. Christmas is my favorite but the gardens are amazing in spring . Asheville is a fun city also. Glad that your family enjoyed it. Your video made me want to visit there again. You have a wonderful family.
I love Asheville I’ve been to the Biltmore at least 4 times but have never been able to make it at Christmas. It’s on my bucket list . Thanks for sharing your trip. Yeah sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and relax in the hotel.
Fun! Asheville is on my bucket list. I have always wanted to see how the Vanderbilt’s lived. Love you making memories with your family. Blessing from Texas Grandma Friend.
I’m from Eden NC up near the Virginia line, (born and raised), but moved to Asheville in 2002 and lived there until 2011. Then I moved to Georgia now I’m back home. Looks like you guys had an awesome time!!!
You definitely went to the Biltmore house at the right time of the year. We went in early September once and it was so HOT! They didn't have air conditioning back then, lol! Plus the Christmas decorations is so pretty!
We love Asheville😊 we try to go twice a year, as a matter of fact, we’re season pass holders at the Biltmore. They have wonderful specialty tours too.. I highly recommend the Cantina in downtown Asheville it’s a wonderful Mexican restaurant . I also recommend the Grove Park Inn breakfast buffet at the Blue Ridge and if you’re there during the time of the gingerbread house competition on the Food Network the Grove Park Inn hosts it and you can walk through and look at all the gingerbread houses it’s also a wonderful place to stay. There are lots of great places to hike in the area especially ones that are kid friendly DuPont State Park is really beautiful. There are some really nice nearby towns Hendersonville and Forest city. Forest city has a wonderful Christmas tradition where they light up downtown and give carriage rides we haven’t done it in years but it was so much fun we did the first year we were there.😊❤️
Asheville is a great area for wine tasting, hikes. Organic lounges & etc, the Biltmore has rooms & condos you can book which are great, Next time you should or any of you should go too Lake Lure NC, it's about 15 mins away, it as well has great hiking, parks, Boat rentals, spas, & etc they have been in my bck yard since a child, loved going to the water falls etc, If you love caves & waterfalls from Asheville to Lake Lure they have them, some you can partake in other's you just have amazing views, along trails or at their ends an etc,..
Asheville looks like a fun place! I would love to see the Biltmore some day. Gracie June and Caycen should do a commercialization for Asheville tourism! I loved how excited Gracie June was at dinner, lol. Hope you had a very happy Thanksgiving!
Fun! I was watching while picking up around my house and glanced up as you were filming the drive down I-26, I got excited because I knew where you were 😆 those blue ridge mountains before you cross into NC are where I was born, raised, moved away from and recently came back to build my forever home at! It’s always fun to see a place I love so dearly being visited by, and featured in videos from, out-of-towners who find beauty in the place I call home ☺️. If you’re ever back in the area make plans to stop and visit the small town of Landrum, SC 😆
Next time you come out this way go to the Grove Park. Around this time of year they have all the gingerbread houses and the food is amazing as well! Also check out fox n otter escape rooms! Ferrin is absolutely amazing!
Loved the biltmore when I went. It's insane how large the property is! I rode the estate on horseback. It was amazing. Fun fact, part of the movie Last of the Mohicans was filmed on the property!
NC looks so pretty! I hope to visit there some day! Really enjoyed the Biltmore footage. If you're ever out here in California you should visit Hearst Castle, its stunning and very similar! My FIL was the head curator there for many years so we got to visit it a lot. Happy Holidays!
Thanks for sharing Amy! I was just thinking about booking a trip before Christmas to visit the Biltmore since I’ve never been and I saw they have the new Downton Abbey exhibit there
Was this last weekend? They holiday parade happened on Saturday which my daughter's girl scout troop was marching in and it was pouring on the poor kids.
Next time if you go without kids consider Asheville Rooftop Bar Tours, with kids the Grayline Trolley is a great way to see the sites without having to drive.
Hey Amy the Biltmore Estate looked really nice. It made me want to go lol, but I'm glad you guys had sooo much fun. And you kids are the cutest God Bless Your Family ♥♥♥♥
We moved to NC a year ago and I've been mentioning to my husband that I would love to go to Asheville for an overnight. Thanks for showing us around! Gracie June's rave reviews have me convinced we need to go. 😉
Loved the video. Makes me want to go back to the Biltmore. Off the topic question? How did you style your hair? I’m looking to change my style, but don’t know how to achieve that look. Help please👩🏻🦳
It's so odd to see sights I see all the time on here. I live in marion right below Asheville so we go there quite a bit. I would not trade my mountain views for anything though!!!😊 I'm glad y'all had a good time!
Do they still have the Asheville Memorial auditorium? Spent many super wonderful hours there as my dad was in the movie making and entertainment union! Great memories.
I’ve never been there ! It looks like such a great trip, I will have to take a drive there one day. It’s not too far from me here in Florida, I think 🤔
There’s definitely not nearly as much as it looks like in pictures & videos. I live here and have my whole life. It’s not nearly as great as it looks unfortunately. 😣
Definitely should have rode the shuttle bus from the parking area to the house😀it would have saved your shoes. It’s a beautiful walk in nice weather though
I live in Asheville, i prefer Biltmore park much more than downtown but they’re both more pricey. Drive down to Black Mountain it’s super cute and much cheaper
I’ve been trying to get to the biltmore for 3 years since I’ve moved to NC but I’ve either had a newborn or pregnant all the times 😂🤣😂🤣.. so I get to enjoy this video hopefully next year I can get there it’s beautiful
