Just bought a 2015 VW naively i turned straight to number 4 to test the blowers😂 appreciate the video, glad to hear it’s not an expensive fix and hope it applies to my van .
Nice one. If it goes again, change the blower motor too as they’re normally the main cause of the resistor blowing. Replaced quite a few under warranty on this era of vw
Excellent but of advice, recently changed my Audi A1 one and expected to have to get my tools out for my caddy. Nope, squeeze plug remove, squeeze resistor remove, push in new one then push in cable. Less than a minute labour and just £18 from my local factors.
Great video! For me, the problem is not the different intensities the fan blows but the dial next to it does not work properly. When it is supposed to be blowing on your body, it is blowing on the window, any ideas why this may be the case?
I have another one ordered of motor factors, there was fishy smell before it packed in and was the same when first installed, if this one fails I'll get genuine one
I have this exact same problem on my VW Touran (2007) and the garage says it's going to be €400! Is this hard to replace in a Touran 2007? Otherwise I'll try it myself and save me a lot.
I've just replaced the switch and it's getting proper hot and smelling a bit. 67 plate and the switch is exactly the same. Still something not quite right

🤣 it's a common issue over the last 20 years or so, will be pretty much the same.
I did exactly the same mistake. But love my Caddy 2011 with CNG Ecofuel.
Fab video, quick easy fix my fan in my caddy went yesterday, £6 part off amazon fitted myself today.
Awesome, glad the video helped 😁
Thank you from Australia so much
I had the exact same problem just changed by looking at your video
Cheers
Saved me 100 dollars
Awesome glad to help
Cheers mate still chugging my 05 ex british gas caddy really helped
That's awesome glad the video helped to keep your Caddy running 👌😮

Yes I have heard the blower could be the issue, I'll see how long the resistor lasts if it goes again pretty soon I'll change the blower. Thanks 😎
on mine one t5 it doesn't blowing around the front window does anybody can give me any suggestions thanks in advance
Thanks a lot!!! You are my HERO! :)
Glad the video helped you out 👌
Cool video 😎 quick and easy fix, useful to learn. Thank you
Saves being charged £40 plus by a garage
Excellent video. And I disassembled the whole car, 😀. Thanks
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this mate. I can fix mine at the weekend now. 🙏
Glad the video has helped you out

Sounds like the cables are jammed or something, I would take the control Panel out and look at the back of it
I did this and it lasted 2 days an back to the same issue, would you think the fan is blowing the resistor?
It could well be
a fan replaice will solve it. Done on peugeot partner.
I have an 2014 caddy, the blower level 1 to 4 don’t work at all. Any ideas?
Check your fuses first.
Cheers bud you just saved me 💰 👍🏻🙏🏻
Glad to help 😊
hi is vw golf 2000 to 2008 model are same spot same place on resistor? ty
Pretty much yes
@@meatmanifesto does required to take the negative connection in the battery?
Do you know the genuine part number for the resistor on a 08 Caddy TDI 1.9 SWB? Seems to be a few different ones on eBay. Thanks
No idea sorry
Hey there, my 09 Caddy isn't blowing on any speed, resistor you think or fan?
Have you checked the fuse? Could be worth buying a resistor replace it anyway as they're very cheap
Cheers.gonna do this today
Glad the video helped you out 👌
@@meatmanifesto I did locate it easy to do. Just got to find a shop that sells the right 1. Cheers buddy
Euro car parts should do them
@@meatmanifesto thanks 👍🏿
The heater core or matrix are notorious for blocking up and you get no heat. Do you know if Replacing the heater matrix is a dash out on the caddy?
I would guess it's a dash out job
- impeccable, merci à vous !
If the resistor goes again what's the next option, had replacement in 2 months and went this morning
Could be your blower fan, or get a genuine VW resistor
I have another one ordered of motor factors, there was fishy smell before it packed in and was the same when first installed, if this one fails I'll get genuine one
Worth another shot
Would this be located the same on all caddys? Mines is a 2014 and just gone today
Not 100% sure but I would say yes it's in the same place as it's only a facelift model
I have this exact same problem on my VW Touran (2007) and the garage says it's going to be €400!
Is this hard to replace in a Touran 2007? Otherwise I'll try it myself and save me a lot.
Should be in the same location, similar process no doubt.
I'm sure there is a video or forum on the internet with a simple tutorial.
@@meatmanifestoThank you!
This will save you 400 euros

@@meatmanifestoYes! It worked, got the part for 20,55 euro, changed it in 2 minutes! Thanks for the support! 🙏
Will this be the same on 14 caddy, cheers
As it's only a facelift of this caddy, I would guess it's pretty much the same setup under the dash
@@meatmanifesto cheers mate
No worries at all
thanks! I need this for a Caddy 3 of 2009
Glad it helped 👌
good video, thx
Glad the video helped
Can you tag me the part so I can buy the correct one I have the same issue TIA
Get the part number off your current one, then search on eBay or something.
Thank you
Great. Thanx
I've just replaced the switch and it's getting proper hot and smelling a bit. 67 plate and the switch is exactly the same. Still something not quite right
They do get VERY hot anyways, maybe it's a faulty part?
Mine stopped working completely then came back on. But now gone of again. Could it be the resistor still
I would say so yes
@@meatmanifesto cheers dude
Could it be a resistor if it’s not blowing on 4 as well?
Yeah it sounds like it very common on Caddy's
Thanks alot job done no problem 👍
Nice one mate
Thanks you boss
Glad the video helped
Why you getting rid of the T4?
On to the next project plenty more to come
Keep your t4 .it will give less bother than the caddy.tbere designed to be recycled
Had same prob on my VW golf, bought the part for €9 on eBay simple fix, garage wanted €170, fuckin assholes. Thank you RUclips
Awesome glad it helped, I hate garages way too expensive nowadays
How old was you're golf?
Y do u guys don't say anything about the whole thing not working.
Then it's not the resistor at fault
