Amazing video as always. You guys should consider starting where you list the best, worst, and favorite song from every artist studio album. I think that would be pretty dope.
No make up really does fit in section 80 as it puts kendrick in the position of being put right in front of the harsh reality of his girl’s personal life and the social navigation she needs to go through to get through the day without telling him or assumedly anyone in her life. The bridge chanting “you aint gotta get drunk to have fun” helps echo the struggle with vices that’s a common theme throughout the album.
This is definitely a fringe viewpoint but I think Kendricks best song is Mother I Sober. I think there’s a lot of ways to approach “best Kendrick song”. Best musically, most creative, best storytelling, best rapping, most jaw dropping, awe inspiring, meaningful. So in a way it’s impossible to pick a best song by Kendrick. But Mother I Sober would be my pick just for what it means for Kendrick as a person. Super heavy and meaningful and powerful, showing what he’s been through and being so open and vulnerable to a audience of millions. Finally breaking free from the idea that he has to carry all these burdens he has put on himself, a theme he tackles earlier in Savior. Recognizing his and other rappers trauma that goes unmentioned because it’s Taboo. It isn’t streamable like Money Trees, or as creative as Sing About Me, but I think it means the most at this point in his journey. Not to mention the transition into Mirror is incredible. “I choose me I’m sorry” I think is something Kendrick has needed to say for a long time and he couldn’t have got there without Mother I Sober.
Absolutely not. A meaningful song has to be enjoyable to listen to as well. If you’d said Fear I’d see where you’re coming from, but not Mother I Sober.
My favorite kendrick song is the bitch don’t kill my vibe remix with JAY-Z. I think Kendrick’s rewritten verses are INCREDIBLE, and I love the vibe that jay brings in the second verse, with his MASTERFUL flows. It’s just such an amazing song and an insane collaboration between two legends :)
Maybe I got recency bias because I only became a Mac fan like 2 years ago, but the title track on circles makes me cry. The space on it and how warm but bittersweet it is still blows me away
Tina is his worst song for sure. BSD is second. Literally any Tyler song that involves Jasper and/or Taco is his worst song (trashwang is the only exception)
As a person who truly loves all of Kendricks music I personally think it depends on the mood. For just partying and vibing I think swimming pools is amazing. As for more of a listening into the lyrics and just casually listening to it I think Sing about me I'm dying of thirst and money trees are truly perfect. (How can you go wrong with s.a.m.i.d.o.t or money trees?) And for the more chill days and/or sad days there is always Fear. , A.D.H.D and I.
Some slept on picks for A$AP, some of my favorites in Canal St. and Holy Ghost. Both would be up there for my final pick, but i’d honestly might go Purity with Frank Ocean.

You can easily tell this duo still vibes naturally as they were friends in school, even as they get more and more famous, not letting their fame get to their heads.
I feel as if Mac’s best song is 2009. Just everything is perfect and he is just being raw and not hiding anything. He’s telling his story and he isn’t Mac Miller. He is Malcom McCormick and that’s what I love about it. Not pretending to be someone he isn’t, he awknoledges his problems and doesn’t try to act like they aren’t there. He talk about everything he’s done and has been through to be where he is. Beautiful track and one that can make me emotional, not many songs can do that and that’s what I love ❤️
