People don't realize what a struggle it is for parents when their children live in a way that goes against the deepest part of them and their faith. Jeremiah's parents haven't rejected him. They may struggle with his lifestyle, but that doesn't mean that they have rejected their son. They haven't. And, if you watch all the videos you will hear his sister saying that when she visits the show. His parents also visit the show and it's evident that they are very proud of him.
As a straight male you have my support 110%. I absolutely have nothing against ANYBODY who is gay. Your voice and the style that you sing, is full of raw emotion, And dare I say, it literally brings me to tears. I will fight any man on this planet, but you singing will bring me to my knees every time. I wish you the absolute best of luck on this journey, but no matter what, God has a plan for you! @@jarredrobinson533 Jeremiah is absolutely blessed not only in the way he sounds, but also in the way he makes you literally feel the words he delivers. There is a lot of artists in the world that can mesmerize you with sound, but few that can touch the soul. Even with the few, it's only with certain songs. However personally, Jeremiah has done this with every performance to date.

I have a son, just a bit older but if this lad was my Son I'd be bloody proud of him. His parents should embrace him and not make him feel unworthy. Isn't a church pastor & family supposed to not judge, to love whatever. That boy is a beautiful soul & he is going to be accepted into Heaven with open arms. ❤️👍🇬🇧.
Yes, his parents are very proud of him. His whole family is. They love him very much.
Give them a bit of grace, the issue was probably still pretty raw at this stage and there are issues to work through, given their faith and their worldview. I think that Jeremiah himself understands this. Don't be too quick to judge.

People have the right to hold beliefs regardless of whether you agree with them or not. When two people disagree, it doesn't mean that one of them must be an idiot. Why do you feel the need to belittle those with whom you don't see eye to eye?
Jeremiah's family is obviously close-knit, which is possibly why he stayed at home so long. He only "came out," to his family just before the show, as he said at his first audition, so obviously it was still pretty raw for the whole family. Let them work through this together, and don't be so judgmental.
It takes great strength to show emotion and your life will go from strength to strength. What talent you have in your voice and lyrics. Good luck JH.

Oh my heart breaks. I am a Christian and I can understand the pain of his parents being a parent myself but the love of Christ that is in me will forever love my child. And I will never stop showing the love of Christ that Christ has poured into me as a human being. Christians do not forget that He would leave the 99 for the 1. Never give up on your children.
The "pain" is entirely self-inflicted. Putting fairytale beliefs ahead of reality is just a sad and destructive choice.

this guy is special. unconditional love. wow how mature for a young man his age. we could all learn alot from him. I wanted to hug him at the end, didn't like that he was by himself. hes probably felt alone alot, credit to his character to believe in himself when surrounded by a lack of support from those he needs it from most. The pastor is not a good father or preacher for not having embraced his son and accepting him for who he is!! This young man is a lovely person and a great singer that many many parents would be proud to call their son. 💞👏
Just because his parents struggle with his lifestyle, don't assume that they don't love and support their son.
It was probably still pretty raw for the whole family at this stage, and issues like this are not worked through in a day. Give them some grace, show them some compassion. Don't be so quick to judge.

Irrespective of what the world may say, there is no embrace like a parent's or family's embrace. He has a very heavy heart, and is emotionally unstable. He needs a ground of understanding worh his family. May God bless them.
I think you have read the situation better than most. Yes, he needs and wants his family, and his family was working through the issues involved at the time. His parents did visit the show, and were obviously very proud of him.
I don't think people sometimes understand that this can be painful for parents when confronted with news like this. It was still pretty new and raw at the time of the competition, so the parents were struggling. How unfair for people to judge them so harshly without taking time to try to see it through their eyes.
@@judylloyd7901 yes. That is true. Since his parents are church leaders, we wouldn't know what they have been preaching to their members over the years. And two things:
1. He came out as gay which generally is not encouraged in Christian circles. So, them publicly supporting his lifestyle may be seen as hypocritical. Plus, they know the Church's eyes are on them and they probably doesn't want to let that guard down.
2. He is frankly participating in a secular competition. That too, are not usual circles for devout Christians. So, them going there has to be wise because it can send the wrong message to their followers. That's the tough part.
I'm Jeremiah's audition, he sang about "is there a place in heaven for someone like him". Obviously, that's a question many persons who are Christians and gay ask. Because they can't seem to reconcile their desires and lifestyle with what the Bible teaches. So, much understanding is needed there. And then, he wants his parents to fully support him. And the society that we live in today, will tell him that his parents are wicked and that they don't deserve him. So, it may poison his mind towards them. It's is a mutual struggle. May God help them.

What a unique voice...so much of the music industry is so similar...maybe this is in part due to his being tested...but it's the testing that makes you stronger...enough testing...you become invincible...worth remembering on a bad day...
