@@Gabe0823 true, I specifically pointed out all of the missing characters who were in more than one case (misty and morgan count because they have a character profile in bridge to the turnabout and one other case each). manfred was only in goodbyes, but he still counts as a main character tbh
Mimi miney, alongside Morgan fey definitely needed to be there, she had so much potential but she only showed up in reunion and turnabout, which IS one of the best cases so…

@@adambenson4204 I know 😪 Mimi is a villain and she got caught but her story was just so loaded and sad… Morgan came back (kinda) so I was just hoping that Mimi would also come back. Every time I see morgan fey, or even the Kurain village, I think of Mimi Miney because her case introduced the Kurain village, Morgan fey, Pearls, AND EVEN psyche locks. That case is just one of the best cases in the whole series imo. Definitely THE best case 2 of the series as well.

He DOES get some development in Prosecutor's Path, just a shame he never got a "veteran" moment, like Badd Disagree with Pearl, she's a great character. She has all of the cute and all but she's all the time going through intense struggle, what's with all of the responsibility, pressure and manipulation from Morgan clashing with her adoration for Maya. Agree she's not quite as fleshed out as she could be in SoJ but... eh, there's very little that's well fleshed out in that game. Second trilogy was a train wreck in many ways, character development being central among those. But they also always managed to write Pearl in the original trilogy in a way that does feel like how a child would respond to trying to juggle all of those high stress situations and conflicting allegiances she doesn't necessarily understand properly. I think that aspect is what distances her from being "just there to be cute"
Good list! I agree on Phoenix being A. He’s my favorite Protagonist in anything. The only characters I would probably add are Manfred Von Karma and Dahlia. They’re importance to the story is above half the people here. Maybe even Misty and Morgan.
I would personally swap Edgeworth and Maya with Pheonix and Gumshoe and I would put Will Powers a little higher but otherwise good ranking except for the fact that Meekins isn't on this list

At the very least, he is the final boss of Ace Attorney and leaves a definite impact on Phoenix. Also Misty Fey, Morgan Fey, Dahlia Hawthorne and Winston Payne, for more obvious reasons.
Yeah, it said recurring characters though. Manfred is mentioned in multiple cases, but is only actually seen in one case, which I guess excludes him, as much as I wish he was on the list. No idea why Dahlia, Morgan and Payne aren't there though. Misty, again, is only seen in one case. (Technically there's the picture in 1-2 but like it doesn't look anything like Elise that barely counts)
Franziska is a high achieving female lawyer in a world where the only other female lawyer we see is Mia until Dual Destinies. Automatic A minimum. Most of the other female characters are far from being role models. Heck half the main females roles is to smile and be pretty
It was considered weak and hated because first of all it had only 4 cases. 2nd the filler cases was horrible. Amd aai 1 and jfa are considered weaker than that by the majority. Last they left off way too many mysteries without solving them. All the loved characters like maya edgeworth gumshoe godot franziska were gone. Amd pl vs pw is the weakest and most gated game despite phoenix being there
