Justified and acceptable. As rowdy teens, my brother and I once challenged our father (a Marine) to a "friendly wrestling contest" to see who would tap out first. We were high school football and not small guys. He declined and we gave him some grief about it. I don't recall my father ever raising his voice, but when something crossed his boundaries, he would get this cold edged look in his eyes that was sobering. We got the look. He quietly set the ground rules and insisted we double-team him. Being young and stupid and full of ourselves, we accepted. It was over as soon as it was started. I was snap-kicked in the groin and my brother got tapped hard in the solar plexus. He did some weird twisting move and suddenly I'm on the ground in a leg-lock and my brother is in an arm-bar and choke-hold. We tapped out fast. It hurt but we knew these strikes were low power...we were reminded that the "old man" knew what he was about.

@@davidhuff4562 I'm sure you know that in certain families and neighborhoods that behavior is fatal
Maaaaan, the kid got lucky. NEVER spit on someone with the Budweiser bird on his chest
Appropriate response.
That escalated quickly! I wasn’t expecting such an odd overreaction. It would be more realistic if the kid just stormed off cussing, pushed the officer, or maybe called him an insulting name. Spitting in someone’s face is so personal, reserved to convey the deepest disrespect. The message is *You are a vile and vulgar creep! A lowlife!* The spit-in-the-face is rarely seen in the wild. It’s saved for true disgust and utter disdain at someone’s behavior. All the Officer did was say he would call the kid’s father.
Not to mention it is legally assault to spit in someone.
Even after many years, still a satisfying watch.
If you cross someone who earned a trident and you walk away from it you should consider yourself lucky.
That kid clearly had no idea what that trident on the admirals chest means.
Just gotta say, the shot sequence and camera angles for this were perfect. It makes the audience flinch.
Jason Dohring is so good at making you hate his characters!
@Mr. Shark Tooth it's funny. In Pro Wrestling, a good "heel" is respected, but frequently in acting, the actors portraying villains get hate from the fans. They're all doing a necessary job, stoking the conflict that drives the plot!
If my parents heard of me doing something like that I would have been slapped twice that day.......
what would be good, is to see the kid bring his dad to confront the admiral, and then the dad turn and slap the shit out of the kid too when he finds out what happened.. I admire parents who will reprimand their kid when he or she has done something wrong.
When I grew up, I saw only a few face slap incidents. A boy with a disrespectful/sassy mouth often got his butt tanned by his dad.
Good. Teach the punk a lesson.
Though the kid's credibility got destroyed by a reporter who helped Admiral Chegwidden get his vindication after revealing that the boy's father was dishonorably discharged, it's a surprise that the kid didn't try to get his revenge on Chegwidden & the reporter for revealing the truth about his father on TV. The boy should've known his father would've been found and that he wouldn't get away with disrespecting the Admiral and denying a woman her parking space.
When you in the military you are responsible for your wife and children and how they behave I have a good idea that that kid is gonna get some reason when he gets home
"get some reason" needs more than a face slap. That boy's attitude should've been adjusted at home when he was younger on his bare butt.
Admiral Chegwidden needs to be a mediator in all the "Karen" videos
The reflexes on that slap soon as he was spat on
Justified and acceptable.
Sounds as if dad knew his sons well and instilled a lesson, call it 'Marine-style,' when you razzed him. Was he tough with you both too when it came to discipline you deserved?
@@davidhuff4562 Looking back (and I'm a father of three now), my dad was tough but fair. At the time, boundaries sometimes chafed, but honestly, they very likely kept me out of trouble. My father is not perfect and can be a grizzly with a sore tooth, but he is fair. We grew up with a lot of freedom but it was made very clear that we were responsible for our conduct and that we always should carefully consider the consequences of our actions.
@@WereMike : Describes in several ways my dad and most dads I knew back then. Strict but fair and in truth, probably needed my behind tanned more than I got it. I think we all had to consider "consequences." Often the penalty for kids were smacks bare bottom. Adolescent/Teen boys knew the effective use of a paddle or belt. Often in HS years it was said, the school paddle was better than detention & dad's belt even if bare hide was better & quicker than being grounded.
When I was a young teen, my dad (career Military) and I went to BK lounge (Burger King) and the 17-20 yr old punk taking orders was totally being disrespectful to my dad, anyhow there was another military man in line too and he and my dad jumped the counter, threw the punk against the equipment, my dad bitch slapped him and the other guy gut punched him (not to hard) and dressed him down.
The manager fired the kid, apologized to my dad; after all all the military base was the bread and butter of the county in which it was located. I was happy because I got a free Whopper, large fries and shake.
Apparently had a quick lesson in manners and respect...double-dose size. Lost his job on top of that. Boy apparently lacked discipline growing up. Suspect as a military family boy, you were taught respect from an early age. If disrespectful, your dad likely would've whipped your ass up to and maybe into teenage years.
Spitting on someone is ligimate grounds to beat the hell out of anyone no matter who it is
What is that nonsense that he owes respect to someone in uniform? He owes respect to every other fellow human. Spitting in someone's face is just unspeakable low and it would be utterly disgusting behaviour no matter who is at the other end.
We all owe more respect to the men and women who stand up for our constitution and put the uniform on ,than the average person
@@carlstephens1532 No, we do not. Why fetishize the army? That shit is straight out of Starship Troopers. It is no coincidence that preferable fascist regimes assign special status to soldiers. How many go into the army because no other career options were available? If you ask recruits or soldiers why they joined the army - and you get an honest answer - how many will tell you "To stand up for our constitution" ? And who the fuck is the "average" person? Doctors, nurses, scientist, teachers, truck drivers .. you are telling me they provide a lesser contribution to society? And let's not forget, how much the military-industrial complex uses your mindset to re-allocate enormous amounts of money to build weaponry that could be used to build infrastructure, education, health care or scientific research.
Boy this kid needed exactly what he got. His parents should have taught him better.
Hell nah!!! You never spit on an Officer of the Armed Forces!! He’s lucky he only just got slapped.
SCREW THAT!!!. He had NO RIGHT to be SPITTING on a HIGH RANKING OFFICER.
The Admiral HAD to CHECK HIM...
Spitting on any man, officer or not. I actually would have had a closed fist...
Although I forgave them a long time ago I was bullied this clip was the most satisfying thing I've seen in a long time.
Well, if you're gonna spit, it don't count as a sucker punch . . .
WHAT SEASON AND EPISODE ?? Looks good.
Damn if I blinked I would have missed it. Instant reflex.
I swear I thought the other kids shouted "Get him a Body Bag!" LMAO
Spitting on someone is called assault. Don't believe it. Try spitting on a cop. You will instantly understand. No never spit on anyone especially a police officer.
Many of my relatives served in the military. Many saw combat in WW 2, Korea, Vietnam. They were dedicated service men. If I acted like that kid, my relatives would have kicked the shit out of me
"kicked the shit" if you mean as a quick lesson in being respectful with a belt across your butt.
@@davidhuff4562 exactly. Or worse
@@davidrubio9753 : There was a time that the family taught respect for self and others in the home and started at a young age. It is a shame to witness how some young people act today.
Exactly what today's kids need!
Honestly this slap needs to happen more often. Kids today, not all! But lots have zero respect, and it starts with the parent.
Agree. There was a time when parents taught respect in the home and if your dad caught you with a disrespectful attitude, he would whip ass.
@@davidhuff4562 I had my hind end wooped enough growing up. It has made me who I am today.
@@dangallo5370 : You and many guys I grew up with would likely say that. Inside we all seemed to know our parents cared. It was not called abuse that I recall even if your dad told you bare the hind end.
@@davidhuff4562 David, I was raised by my grandparents, my parents died at a very young age. My brother and I grew up well because of our up bringing, though I would have never beat my girls, all it ever took was THE LOOK. LOL, They seemed to know! But I became a police officer at 26 and my brother a state trooper. Following our heritage. My butt yes was sore a few times. But without my grandmother. Prison is where I would have ended up. Bless you brother!
@@dangallo5370 : Sorry to hear you and your brother lost your parents when young. It seems your grandparents raised you boys well. Seems you say your grandmother, rather than granddad, was disciplinarian. I suspect as was true with most boys, a sore butt, when needed, adjusted behavior. A prison cell would often result less often if parents required good behavior taught at home and enforced with discipline.
The punk was a real idiot. Didn't he know he was starting trouble with a Navy SEAL? He deserved a lot worse than that slap.
The world definitely need more of that!!
Love how the admiral doesn’t bother explaining his SEAL status because it’s just a waste of breath on a disrespectful brat
The kid spit at him. That is assault. The Admiral was correct to slap him.
Would had loved to see him make the punk do 100 push ups too
1:17 this punch was the fastest slap ever known in Navy SEAL´s history
Disrespect is one thing but spit! He's lucky to walk away with a slap
He had evey right to slap that boy for him being ever SO disrespectful and even spit at the man.
Some people like that in this world SHAME on them.
The Eagle Anchor Trident says volumes.
No need for war.
That's what I'd call "A Blessin' and A Lesson"
The little snot_nosed puke was Crazy enough to spit in the face of a US Navy Admiral [on top of that a 'US Navy Seal'] and was Able to Walk Away [Blessing] with JUST a slap in the face [Lesson].
[Great Reflexes]
You spit on an officer expect to get slapped!
Spitting in somebody's face . .
You don't do that whether they're in uniform or not.
Right, William. It's even more important to remember that during these times of COVID.
The Adm. Smacked the taste out of his mouth!
Kid doesn't recognize the trident. Oops.
Would have been the last time he ever spit
Which episode and season is this scene from?
Nowadays I see a lot of kids that need a good slap.
you would have to think a navy kid would recognize the trident
Why don't you send me a fighting man? CAN YOU NOT SEE THE SEAL TRIDENT SON?!?!
Deceptive title. The kid spit on him. That's assault. What the admiral did was self defense.
Self defense and a lesson that boy was overdue.
Spitting on someone is assault. Kid is lucky he only got slapped.
Real or not, Naval Officer or not, that would have been my first reaction. Just being honest.
JAG attorney would say the slap is self defense since spitting is considered an assault.
He obviously had no idea what that trident means. Then calls him a desk jockey... You know you just f'ed up.
Don't worry about those cameras. If you got spat on, you're covered. Show a person with an ounce of sand that will put up with being spit on.
Never spit in anyone's face.....NEVER !
Disrespect needs to be addressed
Slapped that turd so hard, he ran back to factory settings
Even in real life that kids committed a class four assault 😳. More punk kids need this treatment.
He would be demoted to ensign then fired and his retirement denied in todays military for this.
The punk assaulted the admiral when he spit on him. The slap was nothing but a wake up call not to disrespect a man in uniform.
Guess that punk never saw a SEAL TRIDENT on a uniform before. Missed this episode.
That kids father should have taught him about respecting the uniform instead of spitting on that uniform I know it’s just a show but that kid ain’t gonna last long if he was gonna enlist he has zero respect for authority
If I ever see anyone spit on a person in uniform that person is going to be eating with a straw
