true, personally im not a fan of this version of glycerine, i think the woodstock 99 performance by gavin is great. gavin however is a huge inspiration for me, i saw an interview where he said he didnt get into any bands because of his voice not being the best but i love the imperfections in it, he aswell as gwen are true musicians and he is really inspiring me to sing myself while playing the guitar

On the release of this live show, they really cleaned it up. They balanced the vocals and really it sounds amazing. They even balanced in the audience screaming. Watching this is a bit lackluster, but who cares. Bush was one of my favs, and I also loved No Doubt back in the day. A fun time I’m sure for all in attendance!

In high school, my girlfriend and I did this song for the fall festival talent show in our hometown because of this performance (I sang Gavin’s part, she sang Gwen’s) so it holds a special place to me because of that. Even if it hasn’t aged the best.

I about screamed in pain. I don't remember EVER hearing her sound so bad. That was frigging SCARY. Seemed like eventually she started to blend in but still hit a few big bumps before the end. But I have to admit, after I checked to make sure that my ears weren't bleeding I ended up having a good laugh over this. I love this song and was the worst duo I've ever heard but it was so bad that it ended being hysterically funny.
If you ask me, the OG studio version is them separated but still in talking terms thus the girl playing the violin This performance is them trying to make it work but it ends up in a big fight and the lack of chemistry only adds to that and that's why it's more rock and roll as it goes in the end And the '99 Woodstock performance closes the circle, him alone, whimpering and being vulnerable at what had gone on, thus the lack of any other instrument and sometimes no guitar parts at all in some parts, remembering her and what it felt like to be together but him just being lost in the world even when he's in front of so many people. That's how I interpret it anyway.
