5 year later while playing shadowlands, there is no better tanking guide or any other guide tuskeh made out there. I remember back in the day how all these videos inspired me and motivated me to become better. I wish Tuskeh would still be around making these apsolutely amazing videos, i would support him with every resource i could offer. I hope you doing well in your life tuskeh!!
You amount of tutorial prowess is amazing , nice and clear voice , fluent speaking , excellent train of thought, easy to understand, and your UI customization is superb, really tuskeh , i wish you can stand out ahead of some other y-tubers, for you and the viewers who hunger for quality content. As a brewmaster monk who is still learning the finer points, I very much appreciate the clear explanation and professional attitude you put into your guides. You've reminded me that I need to look over my cooldowns and remind myself what they all do! Given that crowd control is something I'm still struggling with, I am very much looking forward to Lesson 3!

Also remember that haveing high health makes it alot easyer to survive. Like guardian druids that use frenz rejuv if the damage cant be dodged (spells)...
Awesome guide, Tuskeh. However, I am almost sure critical strike increases your parry chance. If that is the case you can actually increase your parry stat, indirectly. I am not 100% sure right now, since I can't check wow right now, but I think when you hover on critical stat on your character window on a tanking spec, it mentions parry.
Edit: I just checked on icy veins out of curiosity and indeed, most tank specs got a passive called Riposte that increases your parry based on 100% of your critical strike stat from gear.

Now here's the real question. What is even the difference of parry and dodge?
Do you know any good tanking addons that makes you see your other tanks debuffs, that is one of the struggles that i can come up 2, i really hate it and i want to make me feel confortable when i play! any good you know?, Btw these guides are top notch, and i really like them! keep up the good work! cya
I like the guide, however as a main tank I would add that 90% of the time stamina flasks are not as good as your main stat (ie strength or agility etc) as it gives more passive mitigation rather than just more HP (its like gemming for stamina its just not worth it). Also I would add yes hold CD's but if you know you are going to use a cool down in 2 minutes and the cool down is 1:30 (something like dampen harm) you can use it in the first 30 seconds, its called CD cycling and just makes life better for you healers and you take less overall damage :) Obviously this is once you know a fight, its a more advanced tanking idea but something to consider. Its like a dps'er saying well I won't use my CD's the boss is going to die anyway, doesn't happen :P if your interested in this check out this video by Preach: ruclips.net/video/03S9-O99IFo/видео.htmlm56s

hey Tuskeh, you mentioned that you can't increase your dodge and parry. that's not really true. at a minimum blood dks have riposte which increases your dodge by 100% of your crit. I think other classes have something similar.
+Alex Vlad Popescu Aye, you can raise your parry by small amounts (see more information here wow.gamepedia.com/Riposte ), but Riposte is now just a bonus to parry based on critical strike. The point of that section was to explain how parry works; you don't really need to worry about raising parry to a certain number, it just kind of comes with gear as you gear up. I added an annotation to the video that describes Riposte, too!
+Tuskeh I guess we disagree on what slight is. when I was going through challenge modes stacking crit saved my butt and increased my dps.
That's a very good point, but we're not at this point in the tanking guide right now. For newer players, focusing on active mitigation, positioning, and communication will help them much more than bonus parry will. In a future video I can discuss smaller ways to increase mitigation for more advanced players!
For the gameplay parts of the video, what makes up your ui? Is it an overhaul addon or a combination of other addons?

+Tuskeh Thanks for the quick reply! What are combination the of addons? I like the look of the ui , specifically the action bars, holy power, and unit frames and I'd like to experiment around with it.
The bars are Bartender, the Holy Power indicator is WeakAuras, and the Unit frames are Shadowed Unit Frames!
