In the first match, I think you keep failing notice to the rocket punches from the Fortresses because the rocket punch shots don't look like what you expect them to as instead of rocket-propelled fists, it looks more like the Fortresses are firing fast explosive fireballs.
a slight bit of advice Storms can be dealt with easily if you juist have a single unit of crawlers in front of your army and then use the mobile beacon to make them run to the left or right the storms will stay locked onto them and never hit them.
Mobile beacon is something I’ve noticed a lot of high ranking players using.
Ye, it's great, even in 1s. Wasting storms is one of usage.
Others:
Wasps and rhinos make great usage of exploiting holes in enemy line to run straight at towers.
Phoenix drive-by. Maneuvering your army to the side. Grouping enemy units. Wasting enemy time (run away with crawlers when rhino is chasing).
Pushing deep in units (most units won't stop moving and shooting if there is no enemy directly on bacon path)
Robots and buttons, let's go!
Say less brutha
I really like the fortress. From watching other matches it seems like a great late game unit. Having several of those live could knock some major hps off. I would consider replacing the rocket punch with something else.
42:54 JUST PUT ROCKETS THEREEEEEEEEE
47:11 Balls.
Why do you not get typhoons, they are great anti air and chaff clearers, and can get barriers.
Chad fortress rocket puncher
I don’t know what you’re saying but I was not impressed with the rocket punch. I am sure he has a better upgrade he could replace that with.
@@barrym2112 oh yeah that upgrade absolutely sucks... Still very fun that he picked it
I see you put phoenixes into massed marksmen - is the phoenix a good counter?
If you're talking about the last match, the enemy got the shotgun upgrade for the marksmen, which makes them much shorter range and less of a threat to phoenixes
"MARKSMAN’s range is reduced by 70, HP is increased by 500%, movement speed is increased by 3, and attack has a 9m area damage."
(not that I think Indrid noticed, but I think that's why it worked)
They're very similar units. My (not super extensive) experience is that phoenixes tend to beat marksmen as the game goes on, in no small part because they come in pairs so they're easier to mass. But individually, phoenixes and marksmen trade pretty equally, with maybe a slight advantage to marksmen depending on upgrades.
You don't really think about things like that in terms of 1v1s. Whichever player wins the chaff war is happy with that matchup, and the other is very sad. Marksmen can get rid of phoenixes, and phoenixes can get rid of marksmen. Both players are happy they have a unit that handles medium units, and from that point, it's about keeping them safe and giving them opportunities to hit the things you want them to.
Against assault marksman emp is best friend - they lose this 500% hp bonus what makes them easy to kill.
I tend to run few marksmen against phoenix's since if they are at least lvl 3, they can easily deal with later overlords or wrights (ofc aerial specialist upgrade).
But if you are somewhere in the middle of game, you don't wanna buy marksmen since lvl 1 marksmen at that point are bad - then your best friend is anti air fortress.
