Oooo! Your videos are the bomb! Even better, your narrating and mindfulness. Love! 🌎🌍🌏 What a wholesome family. I hear the emotions in both your voices
Your words at the end about submitting to what winter has to offer, and also disciplining your body in the summer and then disciplining your spirit in the winter, is so deep !
I just discovered your channel a couple days ago, and I'm SO addicted to your cozy vibe and wonderful homestead. I really enjoyed the way you both did the voice-over on this post, expressing your gratitude and enjoyment of all your hard work and wonderful home, it's really lovely, thanks!
This is what healthy eating is, food that is not treated and still has all the good bacteria from the soil. There is something magical about growing up on a farm, miss it!!
I was having a huge anxiety problem this morning and i just wanted to thank you for opening your home to us. Im a single and live in a small apartment in the city and i love sitting down and watching your videos, they are so calming and they have definitely helped me. Thank you.
I don’t know you and please don’t be offended, but I suffer from anxiety as well. I used to have this life when I was a kid . Moved to a city and developed anxiety. I’m trying to get back to a place like this. If just watching these vids takes away your anxiety maybe trying to live this way is your permanent solution. I know it is mine. Again please forgive my intrusion, I only have good intentions ☺️
Im lying on my bed, and watching this makes me exhausted! I don't know how you do it all...but your children will have great memories of mom and dad working hard to provide for them. Happy 2020!
When I need a calm and loving place I come here to see how life is treating you. And to my delight it is well. What you have done for me and I am sure others. Has show us that life is good and that Gods Blessing are here sitting and sharing the love you put into all you do, May Gods hand be on all of you and may health and blessing be with you by his grace. Hugs and love to all of you and may you all have a Merry Christmas
This is just amazing! Seeing what your family has a done with 2 acres of land..... I'm blown away! You might wanna consider selling garden blueprints and books on homesteading.... I know I would buy instructions from you guys in a heartbeat. Nice work👍
This is what I am dreaming and praying for. The grocery store or just shopping in general gives me major anxiety. Gardening and feeding and healing my family from what we have grown together is my now my PASSION. Great video❣️❣️❣️😊
Wow! A whole lot of work went into planting, nurturing, and harvesting all of that! Not to mention canning, wrapping/packaging, and storing all of it! But it must be extremely fulfilling. I like the thought of tending more to spiritual things during the slower winter months. Blessings to you and your family this Christmas season! ❤️🎄❄️☃️
Every time I watch one of your videos I’m blown away at the quality. I love the content, of course (and I’m headed for this dream myself!), but the care you guys put into making BEAUTIFUL content is much appreciated. ♥️
From your channel I've learned.... mismatched is okay, even welcomed. Modern isn't for everyone, your style is much more cozy and peaceful. I decided to go paperless with napkins and now I look for pretty cloth napkins in whatever style/print/color/design I choose, then I put them in a pretty rustic basket. I grew up on a farm which my parents sold when I was 10. I think deep down I always knew I'd yearn for that life again, and I was right.
This was a beautiful & motivational prayer for all of us to encourage and soothe the spirit. I have a small garden going all year around here in the south. We can, freeze and put up as much as possible for winter. I’m waiting on apple season to finish off this year’s canning and I can’t wait to turn all those gorgeous apples into apple butter, pie filling, sundae sauce and so much more. We even make apple peel jelly so we don’t waste anything. And everything else goes to the compost for spring. Much love ❤️ to your family from ours. Stay safe and well.
Ty for your channel. Being a new subscriber, I am grateful for your beautiful, peaceful, edifying, educational videos. Being partially disabled, yet able via your channel to again experience all the different beautiful aspects of gardening, canning etc. Is liberating. So, Thank you for that. Keep up the good work. Peace
The love of rural life, the harvest, the canning.... all to nurture a family that loves each other. Is there anything else more important? I rather doubt it.
What a blessing that the garden gave so much food for you to put up this year. 🌷🌳🌴🌲 And the nostalgia of the traditional apron with the pocket and that ric-rac trim really warmed my heart.
Exquisite. Just beautifully thought out, put together, narrated and edited. I loved the thoughts within this and seeking to apply these to my life- so different from yours, a suburban empty nest mom, probably never to be a homesteader but so grateful for where I am, and just learning to accept what God in his Providence has set out for this day and this season of life and to embrace each new season with joy. Thanks for the beauty!!
Bake A Leg And Let's Dig It It is hard! My advice is to look for opportunities to volunteer and serve, ( if you aren’t working now and have the time). It was very hard for me, too in the beginning - as past 25 years or so had revolved around my kids. I felt ver “adrift”. But Im starting to find opportunities and getting involved with many things now and am really seeing ideas for what God would have me doing in this new season, maybe even learning a new skill to work part time from home! The possibilities are endless! God bless you! 💕
I'm thankful you popped up in my recommendation. I needed to watch this video. This week hasn't been doing well for me. Watching this video makes me feel blessed and happy.
The transformation of your garden is a thing of beauty! It reminds me of The Biggest Little Farm’s transformation in a way. It’s very satisfying to see it from the drone footage. Thank you for yet another peaceful and beautifully done video that inspires me to live a little more simply and gratefully. ❤️
I found your channel through 1000s of roots a couple years ago... So appreciate your artfully and unapologetically sharing of your life and your faith. I purchased your latest book - something I rarely do and have read through the Fall section. I savored the writing and the photographs. Will be reading through the Winter section soon. I think the last page of your book compelled me to go to your blog to learn about your dreams. I am almost up to date with your blog posts - on the dream category. What a transformation of your spirital, physical and farming life through the years. I feel like I "know" you and your family a bit better now. You have presented the small farm life with dignity through your lense. Bravo! Looking forward to more videos.
I always love your videos. Also read the comments, many folks relate and love this lifestyle. I am in my late 60's and we have always had gardens, chickens and the like (only they didn't call it a homestead back then). The last 40 years have just flashed by so fast, I see you both savoring each and every moment on your little homestead. Too many people don't take the time to appreciate all. I was thinking how you will enjoy all your videos later, when the kids have grown up. You are all very blessed, and, you have worked so hard for all of it. Warm winter hugs to all.
Im 55 almost and the last 40 yrs have flown by, my oldest is almost over the hill (36yo) lol Get out there and START, young ppl! Dont wait till youve “enjoyed” your youth, it is FLEETING and then youre too tired to do and learn what you need for the rest of your life!!
It is so amazing to watch your farm grow each year! I’m so happy you came over to RUclips more and we get to see the beauty of your farm(love the drone shots!). I have your very first cookbook and I still cook from it often! Merry Christmas to you and your family!😊💕
What I think I loved the most about this video was the order. It made everything calm and serene. Rows of plants in the spring/summer segment... setting the table, making the cookies just right. I love that. I wish I had that. Its what I strive for but it eludes me. I realize that the video picks and chooses the best, but I just really like watching this.
Totally love this video and so envy your life. When I was a little girl I lived on a farm but we rented it. When we had to move, I thought my life had just stopped. It was the saddest day in my life. Your videos bring back such wonderful memories and oh how your kids will love them wherever they may roam. God bless you and your family!
I love that this video really honors the changing of the seasons and the rythms of the earth - and our very integral place in that! Just as they express in the video - winter, in so many ways, really encourages us to turn inward, not only physically, but with our thoughts, emotions, & our energy and spirit as well. I think a part of what makes this lifestyle so appealing is the lack of resistance to the natural order of the world. If you want to survive, you're put in a position where you must remember how to move with the Earth. I think this ultimately teaches us how to move with the true nature within ourselves, learning to swim with the current, rather than against it, gives one so much more energy to accomplish dreams, aspirations. It silences the hectic world so we can find our happiness within! Thank you for sharing your life, it is an inspiration and aspiration
This way of life is possible in any country location, with the willingness to work hard for it. That’s all it takes, relocation and hard work ethic. You guys have it in abundance. You didn’t wait for life to provide, you set out and got it for yourselves. Good for you!
Your homestead reminds me so much of growing up. When I was very young, it was my grandparents that supplied fresh eggs, chickens, pork and game as well as fruits and veggies. My neighbor supplied milk and beef. My grandmother made her own butter and lard. When my parents bought their homestead, my father had a monster garden of about two acres...plus we had cherry trees, strawberries, Raspberrys and elderberries. The kids were assigned rows to weed and I remember mom canning 165 quarts of just tomatoes. It has been awhile since I saw one of those Crocks but they were always full of pickles from dill, bread and butter to pickled watermelon rind. Little went to waste. I lost my first tooth in pickled pigs feet. It was a different time.but it is a pleasure to know some still enjoy it. I have hopes for my grandson as he talks of having a few acres to grow food. Thank you for sharing.
I love that you use the fancy wine glasses for when it's just you two. I have some antique martini glasses and beautiful wine glasses and we have always used them even when its just me now. You said something about having dried lavender to look at in the winter for beauty's sake. It's just me now and though I miss my spouse terribly, I will continue making my home beautiful as I always did. When I'm all bundled up in a soft blanket and a good book come this winter, I have beautiful areas in my home that will make me smile inside and dream of spring. I use a cold frame in the winter to grow greens such as spinach and butter lettuce and that is my winter weekly treat to have a fresh-picked salad. The key to a successful cold frame is to put it in a spot that will get sun most of the day and to bury fresh manure 1-1/2' under the frame and surround the outside walls with bales of straw. Come springtime the straw can be repurposed in the garden. As you know, composting manure generates a lot of heat and that is why it goes into the soil. It can be 20 degrees outside but the soil in the cold frame is warm and unfrozen. The same method can be used in your winter greenhouse.
I am getting very nostalgic watching this video....this is the way we were supposed to be living, off the land, growing and making our own food, there is so much fulfilment from this simplicity. It takes work, I can see that you guys do alot of work, but the rewards are soul satisfying.
Watching your videos, are always so refreshing and encouraging. Reminding us to find the beauty and joy in the simple bounty of our gardens and homes. Encouraging us to get our hands dirty in the art of making homemade meals for our precious families. Thank you guys! Be blessed!
Relaxing from putting the tree up. Got my coffee and SURPRISE... got to enjoy the moment with the Elliott Homestead. Love your videos. Have a blessed Christmas!
Have no works to explain how peaceful and calm i found listening and watching this beautiful journey of work from summer to winter. Follwing you guys to share your precious monents with all of us and encourge in all positive and peaceful way. Thank you for sharing this video.
I so enjoyed hearing you too talking about enjoying the "season" that your in, at that moment. Living in a snowbelt area in rual NY [yes NY is by far not all city]. I can hunger for the spring to come, to get into my garden and put my hand in the soil. Blessings
I know this is a older video but it strikes a cord with me at this time of year (june 2021). When going into my cold room today, i have a sense of panic at seeing the emptiness of the shelves. We have eaten so much of our home canned foods and fresh vegis, i feel the need to stock up again. I can hardly wait for canning season and harvesting from our garden and putting them away for winter. Thank you for your beautiful videos.
As a busy Realtor /Real Estate investor, I love to watch your more simple way of life and long to be there with you. Blessings to you as you live what most of us dream of. Thank you.
Did you guys grow up with this type of lifestyle? I'm curious as to how you learned how to do all of this - it is definitely a lost art; one that really needs to be out there - I wish I knew how to do half of the things you guys do. Thank you for creating this channel!
Candace S. People in the herd think it’s a lot of work, but you get to stay home, and accomplish the same as leaving to work and buying in stores. I’d rather work land than work making someone else rich. This lifestyle makes you rich. I’m just starting out, and I love not having to be in the grind, I love to be with the dirt and create for me and mine, it’s almost not work once u get down each thing. I’d love to get this going to bring in people wanting to experience it a few months to decide they want it for themselves.
I personally live like this, it is easy enough, it just requires land, space and hard work. Most people shy away from this. By the way my friends do mostly live like this too, with me, in a rural town in Germany.
Hi candace, last year we started stocking up on seeds. I purchased from a local gardener in Arizona. I was scared lol. She gave me some great tips for gardening in our area. This year we are getting ready to start a feed crop for animals and a garden that will eventually sustain n our family of 6 lol. There are so many great resources available to help you do this. And you can personalize EVERYTHING! Shoot you can do it all in pots if your in an apartment or don't have the space. But learn about your seeds, your climate, soil etc, and give it a go! Something vs nothing is better. Good luck and God bless you
This was the most beautiful video I’ve ever seen. This has been my dream for years. This video came up as a suggested video to watch and I am so glad I did because by minute two I was crying, sending it to my husband, then subscribing. Thank you for showing that not only is this dream possible but it can also be enjoyable and peaceful.
Just subscribed to your channel. This video is unlike anything I’ve ever watched on RUclips and I’m completely in awe of your homestead lifestyle. It is breathtaking! Such a hardworking and rewarding devotion you guys are to your children, farm, animals and garden! 💗
How have I not seen your channel before? The wholesomeness is filling me with joy. Everything from the music to the calm cinematography is everything I needed today.
Your videos are a reminder to me of the beauty of homesteading. I have found myself getting burnt out slightly since I've adopted the mindset that I'm growing to provide our winter meals. It just used to be a hobby. A few tomatoes here, a couple cucumbers, a zucchini plant. But now, I plant close to 60 tomato plants, 12 zucchini, 12 or more cucumber, 120 pea plants, 120 green bean plants etc. We also sell at the local market, so we grow lots of kale, spinach, arugula and will be growing radishes, beets and green onions this year. We've expanded every year, and I'm to the point where my original 1,200 square foot space is almost completely dedicated to market. The rest of our expansion (at least double original size) is for my family. I kind of miss just growing for fun or excess, but I know the importance of food self sufficiency, so I press on. Learning new things every year and growing our farm every year. It's important for me to not just view it as work. There is just so much beauty involved in homesteading if we pause to see it. Thanks for helping me remember that as I plan for next year's garden. ☺
I love getting ready for winter then taking time off to enjoy the stored harvests! I only have a little though but I feel like a squirrel as winter approaches & look forward to relaxing cozily indoors 😊
You inspire me so much! I look forward to every video you put out & find myself wishing you would do more...Lol I started my own raised bed garden last year having no clue what to do so I really appreciate when you show the things you do as I look to alot of videos & books for info.
This is how I grew up. My mother would give me a basket to go “ down cellar” and get dinner. Eating with the seasons wasn’t trendy it was necessary. We weren’t rich but we weren’t hungry. Trying to get back home, again. 🥺
I grew up like this, my Mother didn't dry storage many vegetables, but she did can, we did spend entire days chopping different vegetables making Mulligan stew to freeze to eat later, or freezing corn or beans, peas,
It Is So Nice to Go To The shelf and get what you need to prepare your meals ! It Makes all the work you done all summer long worth its weight in gold ! Very nice Job What you have Done !
We have a small flower Garden has years of love in it. We have all our plants in Pots. I am.new to your Vlog. We have a large family grown ups and Grandchildren. x You guys work so very hard to look after yourselves during the Winter Months. X
I just really love your presentation. It is so warm and heart felt. I grow up in Yakima and my Grandparents on my dads side lived on a small ranch. I vaguely remember my Grandmother in the kitchen doing her thing and my Grandfather out taking care of the milk cows. My brother and I loved going out there. We are now trying to re-create some of that feeling even tho we are in the city. Thank you so much for sharing a part of your families life.
Lovely to see what you eat in the winter. We just started our homestead so we are not yet there, but nice to see what can be. Lots of love from Portugal
Tina Holbrook we bought land that needed a lot of clearing so right now we are mostly doing that. For next summer we do want to go all in with the garden so we’ll start prepping for that soon. (You can see all this on my channel btw)
Watching this tonight, and smiling because I made thumbprint jelly cookies too! Had my first garden this summer, and lamenting that summer is over. It was just a beginner garden, and while it was abundant during the summer, I didn't harvest and preserve anything because this is all new to me. Been watching your vlog and several other homesteaders' vlogs, and learning. I wasn't raised to be a domestic kind of girl, and I'm from the city. My kids are teens and adults so I'm a late bloomer. I did homeschool them, and they were all raised in Christ. That's most important. Wish I could do it all over again, and have eaten cleaner, and been more green, but I guess now is better than never. Love your vlogs. Keep 'em coming!
God Bless You and your family. This is my first time in your channel, and I'm in awe of why didn't I make it here before. Beautiful! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Such soul pleasing videos you guys put out. I discovered RUclips unsubscribed me for some reason, so glad I noticed. I hope you are all well and many blessings to you this season! 💜
Love your video!! Nice to see you folk's enjoying life with your way of gardening and country living!! Thank you it was great to watch and gave me ideas to have a garden and preserve the veggies for the winter months!! Kind regards!! Ron !! Tasmania Australia!! 🍓🍇🍅🍒🍋🍏🍎🌽🍄🥕🥒 🤠👍
I love the simplicity of your videos . Very calming. Do you have a book out on how you put up your summer produce. I am especially interested in the jams and fermenting???
Thanks for watching, my friends! Make sure to subscribe 🥰 We appreciate you!
Could you maybe do a longer video sometime? Cool content.. similar to Parisenne Farmgirl.
Blessings
Love from Indonesia.i love ur vlog
How do I "like" this twice? 😉
You said it all.
Love this life.
Oooo! Your videos are the bomb! Even better, your narrating and mindfulness. Love! 🌎🌍🌏 What a wholesome family. I hear the emotions in both your voices

Why was this video an unexpected spiritual experience
Agreed! I felt so much calmer and happier after watching this wonderful family's video.
Lauren Barber RIGHT!?
Yes! I agree. It is just beautiful and soul soothing.
Because we were created in the Garden. We were created to be stewards of the earth, in relationship with our Creator ❤ We were born gardeners.

I wish me and my family could just live with you for a year and learn how grow and preserve and just learn your way of life.
I would love to see more of how you cook with and use your preserved foods throughout the winter!

Please, please do more videos on preserving and storing foods! Your video on storing carrots was so informative!
Thank you.
After watching this I am going to make a big pot of tea to binge watch some more of your relaxing and inspiring videos 🍵🍵
Don't believe everything on internet .
Good luck and God bless you
You have to work the land as a full time job. It is a great life.
I enjoy your videos so much. Your voice calms my soul xx
Just subscribed to your channel. This video is unlike anything I’ve ever watched on RUclips and I’m completely in awe of your homestead lifestyle. It is breathtaking! Such a hardworking and rewarding devotion you guys are to your children, farm, animals and garden! 💗
Good for you folks. That bounty represents a lot of acquired skill. Bravo, bravo.
I was waiting on the end result of the cookies.
How have I not seen your channel before? The wholesomeness is filling me with joy. Everything from the music to the calm cinematography is everything I needed today.
I was so happy to see a new video! They are so nice and relaxing to watch. Thank you!
Quel bonheur de voir une famille vivre durablement et en osmose avec la nature .Vous êtes une fierté et un exemple à suivre! :)
Love what you said about enjoying the summer and winter! Beautifully said!
Nordic skiing and snow shoeing would be a great winter hobbies . This is how our family copes with cold winters in Canada.
My heart does a little leap when I notice that you put up another video.🌸 Lovely, thank you🌸
This was such a beautifully made video. I appreciate the love that shows throughout. Thank You.

I love getting ready for winter then taking time off to enjoy the stored harvests! I only have a little though but I feel like a squirrel as winter approaches & look forward to relaxing cozily indoors 😊

I started my own raised bed garden last year having no clue what to do so I really appreciate when you show the things you do as I look to alot of videos & books for info.
This is great....loved watching...😁🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌲🌲
This is how I grew up. My mother would give me a basket to go “ down cellar” and get dinner. Eating with the seasons wasn’t trendy it was necessary. We weren’t rich but we weren’t hungry. Trying to get back home, again. 🥺
This whole video is a work of art.
I grew up like this, my Mother didn't dry storage many vegetables, but she did can, we did spend entire days chopping different vegetables making Mulligan stew to freeze to eat later, or freezing corn or beans, peas,
Really enjoyed the way this was filmed, edited and narrated.
I enjoy watching your videos. Truly appreciate allowing us to experience your lifestyle with us.
This brought me joy, remembering things from my childhood on my great grandmother's farm. I've set my heart on a farm of my own. Subscribed!

So beautiful, and so much truth. I think this was one of my favorite videos of yours ever. 💕
I agree one of the best! Watched it 3 times and gave my husband to watch it!
Love it!
I could never make living like this as elegant as you Mrs. Elliot ❤
We moved from LA to CO. This video helps me find the beauty of Colorado winters which are SO foreign to me.
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video with with ua and making us think about how we are living our lives .
Lovely to see what you eat in the winter. We just started our homestead so we are not yet there, but nice to see what can be. Lots of love from Portugal
Congrats on starting your homestead! What are you doing so far?
Tina Holbrook we bought land that needed a lot of clearing so right now we are mostly doing that. For next summer we do want to go all in with the garden so we’ll start prepping for that soon. (You can see all this on my channel btw)
It was wonderful to see your grocery store!! Lots of love there. 😊
This was a work of art! Thank you so much!
Christ is more important, you done good 🙂
Now enjoy your new way of life, no regrets. Keep on, keepin on!
Thank you, dear one. :) God's blessings be upon you!
Such beauty, such blessings. Thank you for sharing. 💕💕

I love the simplicity of your videos . Very calming. Do you have a book out on how you put up your summer produce. I am especially interested in the jams and fermenting???
Vic Costley There are some in all of my books, but probably the most in Welcome to the Farm!
