The first time I heard the Dead play they played this song Morning Dew. It was 1973 at RFK in DC. I grew up fearing the A Bomb and massive destruction hiding under gym mats during drills at school. Jerry and the band really blew my mind that day. They showed with a song how you could plunge yourself right into that horrible feeling and come out loving life. This video comes close to capturing that feeling. 🐦
Hey now I was at this three show run. The boys were in peak performance here ! When Garcia groans out I Guess It Doesn’t Matter Anyway my whole body got Goosebumps ! The band was never allowed to play at the Greek Theatre again after these shows, too many Heads hanging out at UC Berkeley campus. These were special times in my life and I miss them. When this technology gets better say in 5-10 years it’s going to be incredible what AI can do to make visuals whole listening to some dead. Probably will be able to use Jerry images and make it look like he’s singing and maybe playing. But so far it’s pretty random and all over the place. Even scary if on certain chemical enhancements.
