Hi everyone! Just a few things I wanted to address! First of all thanks so much to everyone who clicked to watch the video! Now, many people have taken offence in the way I described the clothes. Let's clear something up- on the whole I had a positive feeling towards She In! Some of the items were really great (I kept 5 items- the tweed bow dress and matching jacket, the pearl heel boots, the pink skirt and the grey sleeveless pearl dress. I love them all!), however some of the items were awful, and I feel it's my responsibility as an influencer who people trust to give my honest review and opinion, before my viewers potentially spend their own money. This was the whole point of the video! If I said an item felt cheap or horrible, it is not a personal attack on anyone, and no one should feel offended by that, it is just the truth. If I said anything else it would be a lie. I would rather be slightly "snobby" than lie to my viewers and say something was good and worth my money if it wasn't. IMPORTANT: I have nothing against LOW PRICED clothing. I have found so many gorgeous things in places such as Primark, Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing, Misguided, H&M that feel really nice. This entire Summer I literally lived in a £20 Missguided dress. Every day, no exaggeration. My problem is with clothes that FEEL cheap! Heck, some EXPENSIVE clothes can feel cheap! I literally spent £75 on a dress last week and sent it back because it felt awful, yet my new £11 SheIn dress feels gorgeous and I adore it! It's not about money, or the price of things, so please don't think I look down on inexpensive clothing because I ABSOLUTELY don't. Next, I was not laughing or mocking the dupe bags. I was laughing, yes, but in disbelief as I honestly couldn't believe it was actually legal to full on copy the entire design of a bag! I was shocked! And my comments about how "most people can't spend over a thousand pounds on a bag" were not meant to alienate anyone or make them feel bad. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, the intention was literally the total opposite. I've mentioned in a video before how I feel conscious talking about luxury products on my channel as I know most people are not in a position to be able to afford them, and the last thing I want to do is make people feel bad about that. So many youtubers, bloggers and instagrammers make it seem like splurging on luxury regularly is totally normal, and I honestly think that alienates people who can't, and makes them feel really crappy. I always want to be open about the fact that I KNOW I am so lucky and privileged to be able to afford the occasional luxury product (in this case, I didn't even pay the full amount for the bag!!!) and I do NOT take it for granted. I hate it when I see people talk to their audience about a £1000 bag as casually as a £25 high street bag. I just wanted to get across in this video that I think it IS a big deal to spend that much, and it's far more normal to not want to do that! I was honestly consciously trying to be sensitive towards peoples feelings as I do not want to make anyone feel bad about themselves or what they have/or don't have, and it seems like it totally backfired and had the opposite effect! And for that I am devastated! Anyone who knows me knows I would NEVER talk down to anyone, or try and make them feel inadequate. I promise you it really is a misunderstanding! I value every single one of you and I hope you can forgive me if what I said didn't come across properly and upset you. Lots of love ❤️
Freddy My Love Total respect you for doing this. I personally wasn't offended and on one post said you would never think you're better than anyone. That's why I watch your videos as you are a honest, and give your advice on things good or bad. It's true what you said and I said on another post even expensive things can be poor quality. I don't really understand why so many people are saying Freddy is being snobbish because she doesn't necessarily want cheap clothes to look or feel cheap. Surely the point of reviewing websites like this is to show whether or not you can get good quality for a low price?
Totally agree 😌 Personally, I cannot afford to have a full wardrobe of expensive clothes, but I always choose quality over quantity.

I have bought from Romwe as an experiment and the quality is next level bad. Just terrible. She is being honest. I didn’t know that level of quality existed. Like dollar store Halloween costume quality. I was astonished.

I’m not a subscriber and I admit I’m one of those persons that stroll through the comments more than they write but I also wanted to give my opinion on this debate going on. A bit about where I come from ; I don’t own anything designer, I like buying high street and watching reviews ans hauls on both.
Do I like an honest review? Yes, but what is considered honest nowadays ? personally, I go by a few ‘rules’
When a youtuber/blogger... only ever gives good reviews, I tend to take her opinion with a bucket of salt.
Description of the item, with the texture and the fit (ideally their size so comparaison can be done... how it looks on them versus me..)
The Setting : filters and harsh light can completely change the color and texture/quality of the item.
Including the price; did they buy it, sponsored....
Now did I like her review? Yes, she was real. She talked about the good and the bad, she brought out the details (see through dress, the feathersnotfeathers, the runaway tread....) and she also included whether it would be a breaking deal or not.
It is cheap clothing, there are no denying that, and watching it from start to finish I don’t believe that it was said in a pejorative way. The idea of the video was to compare online pictures to the actual items: are you getting a good deal or not as consumers? Which she said you were, she was pleased with quite a lot and displeased with some and as someone who buy online lore than I should I can relate to that.
Now the main problem seems to come from the duper/fake bags. I agree with her. I separate a dupe from a fake by the differences added (or removed) to separate it from the original item. If there are no difference at all then it is a fake and should be illegal (at least in my country).
Stealing intellectual property should never be ok, plagiarism isn’t ok, and when a big company steal from a small(er) artist everyone tends to agree that this is bad so why isn’t it the same when a big company/designer is stealing another big company? It shouldn’t matter whether or not the copied item is expensive.
I do understand that not everyone can nor want to spend the money, or they may simply want to test it out before buying. But then go for something similar not complete fake.
That was quite longer than expected....I hope I made myself clear enough, I don’t think it was about buying non expensive clothing or accessories, to each their own no one should feel ashamed for what they were, or how much spend for it. But it was a legitimate reaction at least that’s my opinion.

I don't get why so many people are offended by this. I see nothing wrong here. I for myself am fairly concerned with quality and am always glad if a RUclipsr puts it into account. To me it also seemed like she chose her words with care. You all just want to get offended for the sake of it, and that is especially worrisome in a day and age where things that are actually offensive get lost in a see of irrelevance.
AliaslsailA there's a way to critical review items without sitting there laughing at it and saying it's horrible quality, and assuming her viewers cant afford a chloe bag. it's a chloe bag not a chanel so idk why she was acting like it's something big
sarah_says I just rewatched the video again and I don't see where she's mocking items, she said much more positive things than negative. Also, you yourself come off as rather snobbish, if a Chloe bag is "nothing big" for you and it needs at least a Chanel bag to impress you, than what's your problem here? I myself couldn't afford either of those bags and I still don't feel like she was downgrading me.

If she thinks an item is cheaply made then that's fine, thanks for letting us know. But during the part where she talked about the Chloe bag she CLEARLY is making fun of it and says it is poor quality, did you catch that? Then she goes on to say she would recommend it? That makes no sense. Like she would never wear this cheap bag, but YOU can go ahead. I never said the Chloe bag wasn't a nice bag, you're twisting things around b/c your feelings are hurt. I read so many comments. If asked me, i think to keep your personal opinion it not about being snobby or rude towards someone. It's okay to say bad when something is really bad. Those who afford luxury will buy that and those who love to shop from Shein will shop online.

Wow this is the problem with society. People are so sensitive about everything! Freddy gave her opinion on a clothing site that sells a lot of very cheap, bad quality clothing, that sometimes doesn't even look the same as online. There are HUNDREDS of reviews online of how terrible this website is, and all of those people have awesome comments thanking them for their honest reviews. If you find this offensive because you can't afford more expensive clothing, you really need to re-evaluate your lives. Besides, the prices weren't even cheap - you can go to a thrift shop and buy so many lovely and beautiful pieces for a fraction of the cost. Keep doing what you're doing Freddy and ignore the petulant children. :)
Plus, it's better to pay a bit more for a better quality item that will last you a long time, then buy cheap pieces that will fall apart in a few weeks/a season that you have to constantly repurchase.
I love that Freddy's style is really elegant and classic, I'm just sick of all those Kylie wannabe !

I am studying fashion and we recently talked about the effects of fake handbags, etc. the reason they can get away with it is because it doesn't have any particular print on it and it doesn't have a logo. In the fashion world, designs can't be copyrighted, but prints can. So unless it has an exact print or has a label that is claiming to be a particular brand, then they can copy whatever they want! I don't necessarily think it's right to purchase dupes because it is truly bad for the fashion industry, but I also understand wanting something and not being able to afford it (I'm a full-time student with three jobs, and broke still.. so I get it) I don't mean any hate by that, I'd just encourage anyone looking to buy a fake product to look into what the effects are.

I have that Chloe bag “dupe” and I have been in love with it for a while and you just sat there laughing thinking the bag was hysterical. If you seen someone walking down the street with that bag would you laugh in their face? I see loads of designer clothes and bags and you're mainly paying for the name. But that's my thought and doesn't mean someone else wouldn't spend that on a bag or clothes for whatever their reason. There's nothing wrong with buying a copy if it's a lot cheaper. Freddy meant it's laughable that it's being copied, and it's poor quality. She doesn't think she's better than anyone else. I have tried Louis Vuitton bags and they're not good enough for me, they're such bad quality for the money and look old fashioned and yes designer bags can be poor quality too in my opinion. I love MK bags, and own lots of them as they're trendy and great quality, but everyone's preferences are different and that's ok. 😬👍🏼xx

The reason she is mentioning the price is to keep her followers informed. She wants you to know that these pieces are accessible to everyone, while comparing to designer quality.
For a lot of dupes you can tell by the weight, feel, and inner lining. Also, the fake market funds terrorism and other criminal activity.
It’s great that Freddy took the time to address the fact that some people were offended. It’s no use arguing who should or shouldn’t be offended; that’s a very personal thing. To imply people were offended because they have insecurities is uncalled for. Everyone has the right to feel the way they feel, even if others don’t agree with them. Perception is unique, personal and is reality.

I think shein is a great site to get some some unique pieces ! You can find a lot of clothes that you see on Instagram but you can't find them in stores in your area. I have some that are amazing quality and some that are meh.... so it is a bit hit and miss. I do like that each item has a separate size guide so you can get the right fit

I kinda don't like when rich people refer to these websites as "cheap" and stuff. I mean, it's not really a Chanel kind of quality, of course. But none of us - non youtubers can afford a Chloe bag and have a closet full of high-end and designer stuff. Maybe some people with high income, lol! I actually like all of these items and I would really wear them😊. China doesn't always mean bad quality. Don't forget - even iPhones were assembled in China. And btw, even Zara items often have lose threading! ☹️
Totally hear what you're saying! And I did mention in the video that I've had the same experience in quality in Zara so I wasn't judging the brand! And low-cost is different to cheap (for me anyway). I worship low priced clothing that feels nice- and the fact is, it DOES exist, so just because you cannot afford expensive clothing, doesn't mean you have to wear only clothing that feels cheap! There are other options and I was just checking this brand out before people spent their money on it x

sensitve much... she liked lots of the clothes that she ordered and had mainly positive things to say. I dont have lots of money and sometimes I go into a store and think things seem cheap. Its not a reference to price its a reference to quality. I saw a pair of $300 white pants that I thought seemed really cheap. I cant afford $300 pants and I didn't realise they cost that much when I picked them up. So its not a comment on anyones economic status. You just are jealous and so therefore are making nasty comments

I have shopped in Shein (as called Sheinside at that moment) 3 years ago, trust me, those items were horrendous, literally few pieces of trash. I think since they’ve got more well known in the past years they actually started to care about their quality, which is such a nice thing! After seeing some of the items you got, it actually made me want to go check them out again (which is unimaginable for me in the past 3 years).
I think you are being completely genuine and honest, and I support what you said in the video (except I think people should not be buying straight designer bag rip-offs cause it’s against intellectual property).

Minicreature1 this is so sad! My intention when I said that was to stress the fact that I don't think it's normal to spend so much money on a bag. I didn't even buy mine! So many youtubers make it seem so normal and part of daily life to splurge so much money on accessories. I don't want to make my followers feel like that, so I always make sure I don't come across like I think it's normal to spend that much! Ok, I usually do not comment, but I have to tell you that I personally really liked the video. I did not think you came across as snobbish or rude or anything. I personally actually appreciate the fact that you really quality check all the clothes and bags and that you have an eye for what quality actually looks like. I rather watch videos where the people know how to do that than somebody who just sees and advertises nice looking clothes without looking at the actual quality of things.

Some lovely items! Regarding itchy tweed dresses - I had the same problem with a Zara dress. I just bought some stretchy lining fabric and copied the sewing pattern from the dress. Then I sew it together, turned it inside out and sew it onto the inner hemline per hand. Doesn't even have to be so exact, it's just underneath!

I absolutely love Freddy's videos and I'm inspired by her style and class, however I am a little disappointed that she would say a £25 bag is overpriced for the quality of it when she owns a bag that was over £1000! The original Chloe drew bag better have its own phone charger port and wifi connection for the £25 dupe to be not worth the money!!! 🙈
Haha I see where you're coming from! I think it's not for me to say whether the Chloe is worth the money or not as I don't have as much experience in luxury products! I do however have a LOT of experience in affordable products, and I've definitely had many many bags that were a LOT better quality for the price, which was the reason for that comment!! I think it should have been no more than £15 based on it's quality! x

I’ve ordered a few times from websites like Zaful, Shein etc. The quality is always hit and miss, you could buy the same item twice and get a totally different product it seems! I think it is overpriced. A lot of the things from those sites are expensive for the quality. I've gotten a few bags that come broken and you can't return them. It's really only worth the risk if you aren't spending a lot.

ALSO, many people don’t watch her often and only see this video. They don’t realise that she does in fact like cheaper clothing, she does keep items from places like shein,primark (even if they’re known to be cheaper and affordable)This is her life and her job, why the hell wouldn’t she buy quality clothing for herself? For the dress at 23:40 you could sew a silky fabric under the dress so it feels more comfy. Or ask a designer to reproduce it with good quality material haha
Freddy your so timeless with your style. You can never tell with online websites if it will be amazing or a flop. Btw there is nothing wrong with loving shein! Everyone loves a bargain and a good deal. But quilted bags are in all high street brands like forever 21 and Topshop I get it’s a “copy” but really it’s just an inspiration. Maybe you can try fashionova I saw gabi demartino do a haul from them and I think you might like them. No hate I really enjoyed the video xxxx

Hi Freddy! I love your videos, though I am fairly new to them. I appreciate you stepping out of your comfort zone to provide us with this experience. This was actually the first video of yours that I saw when I started watching a couple weeks ago. I've returned to it to make a suggestion: As a frequent Shein shopper (and someone obviously on a tight clothing budget), I was wondering if you would consider returning to Shein, but not making another purchase. Instead, just make suggestions of clothes others could buy that suit your style. I found this video very inspiring because it helped me find classy, classic pieces on Shein that I may have otherwise missed, as well as the designer dupes that I couldn't have identified on my own. Your insight would be helpful here for some of us budget shoppers AND it could make for an inexpensive spin-off series of hypothetical hauls for the preppy, classic girl.

Freddy is really honest and I appreciate her for this. Honest people might say something that you don't like, it happens sometimes, but most of the times they're right. I'm from Italy and I remember the time LVuitton handbag was so popular and there were so many dupes out there. Most of people were happy with their dupes, I also had one but I felt embarassed firstly because it is illegal, second, it was so different from the original bag! When the zipper broke after a few months I thought: well, I have no money for the original bag so I'd better go for something different. I've got many handbags that are not high end or dupes and I love them they're so pretty. In other words: I have no need to act like I'm rich when I'm not.
With the white dress you can go to a place and maybe they can put a soft fabric untherneath.

I really enjoyed the video and definitely think you were being honest, not snobby. I wonder though whether at times you were subconsciously aware it was cheap clothing and if that prejudiced your opinions (no offence intended - I just know that that would have been the case for me!). I think another fun idea for a video would be for you to get someone else to buy you clothing at various price points and for you to try guess how much each item costs.

I do not think that you were trying to be offensive and I don't think that was your attention but some of the comments you made could have sounded snobby to alot of people. Personally, as a vegan that does not support any animal cruelty, I was offended about the comments you made about the faux leather. Not all faux leather is like that. Look at stella mccaurtney, she has amazing luxury faux leather bags! Please do not promote this cruelty because a life had to be taken just for a bag,. I’ve had a personal experience with these websites and some of the stuff is genuinely overpriced for what the quality is, yet still cheap for most people, e.g £20 shoes, cheap but still a decent price and you’d expect a decent quality but they can often be quite poorly made. I don’t understand how some people can take offence so easily! I would be giggling myself at how good they copied the bag too! and if it was cheap I would also be like ‘OMG’ and I would buy the bag myself anyway! I think some people are a little insecure in themselves and feel targeted easily, but luckily most people are open minded and are happy with what they have and don’t feel targeted 💕
OKAY-- Important reminder. The culture in the U.K. is for women to be very well put together, polite, and proper. That does NOT mean they are snobby. It's just that if you are American it may seem like a stark contrast to how people are here. You cannot assume someone's snobby because their culture is different than yours. I also see people comment that Freddy acts like her life is "too perfect." The girl is just trying to put out quality videos. Sheesh. Everyone has struggles, it doesn't mean they have to put them on the internet.

Never normally comment...but I have to say something here. Freddy's content is always honest and completely unbiased. She would never recommend a product she wasn't fully behind. Her content is always original and she always put her subscribers first. For example, she doesn't do a lot of sponsored videos, and I would imagine she would get asked to do this often. Many other RUclipsrs will do a video simply based on the fact that they are being sponsored and not even care about the quality of a product. She takes her job as an influencer seriously, and at no point were her comments meant to be condensing or rude. If you were offended, then I am afraid you a reaching for a conclusion that doesn't actually exist. People are just jealous, jealousy is a form of hate built upon insecurity. ✌️

They get away with ripping of designer styles because they don't have the logo. Also, I totally know what you mean about being uninspired by what's in stores. My style is super feminine with lots of embellishment and most things I find are basic or 90"s inspired.

Thank you for doing this haul! Finally I watched something on youtube without saying 'OMG she paid that much for this standard looking piece of clothing?!?' in my head,lol. I really like shein (compared to ASOS). I returned 80% of what I ordered from ASOS, they didn't feel great & are not priceworthy (for me). Clothings from shein, on the other hand, do not have the best materials in the world, but they fit really good if you pay attention to their measurement system. Their tight dresses fit like gloves, i love them! And plus, I often get compliments when I wear something from shein :))
