I shudder to think what he could do on a guitar with a cutout. I once made a cutout in a cheap guitar when I was learning. I seem to recall Leo Kotke doing that with a '70's era Yamaha before cutout models were easily available. There were many copies of early Gibson arch top guitars. In the '70s you could buy some used Gibson arch tops for a few hundred bucks. They hail from the jazz combo and big band era before Les Paul got everybody wired.
I wish just once someone would have the good sense to place the ads between the songs and not destroy a brilliant performance by interrupting it mid-song.

I just don't understand the Newport crowds. Is there a policy against clapping for the bands? Can you not whoop and hoot when you hear the first notes from that song that you absolutely love!? Dave is not only a fantastic guitarist, he's an amazing harmony singer whose voice blends perfectly with Gillian's.
