Thanks for this info. We will for sure do this soon! I've seen some other videos about fishing Lusk from boats & kayaks. Have you hever done any fishing from the trails or heard of anyone that did?
Looking to backpack with the family in the Lusk Creek area. Thanks for the video. Going from the main trailhead off of 145. Looking to travel in Spring. Owl Point (camp), making our way up to through Old Guest Farm Crossing to Saltpeter Cave / Natural Bridge (day trip) and pack out. Are there any creek crossings leading to Owl Point, Old Guest Farm Crossing, avoiding the creek crossings around Saltpeter? I have the wife, 3 boys between 10-17 yrs. Thoughts?
That sounds like a great trip. All of the Creek crossing are usually at least somewhat high in spring. Many people bring some thin water shoes so that they don't get their boots wet. I've often crossed barefoot but that's probably dumb.
winter trails are usually wet and muddy unless its cold enough to freeze or we have a dry spell. The creeks rarely freeze over and are usually high enough to get over boots even in winter.
Thank you for the map!
Dude, this is an awesome video. Thanks so much. I have been wanting to better understand lusk creek wilderness.
Thanks! I've been hiking there a long time and I still don't understand it LOL.

Most of the time Lusk is too low to fish, or at least this part is.

Thanks for the video. How busy are the trails in winter? Do the creeks freeze over?

Are there any camp spots along this route?
No official camps, but lots of great places to camp, especially around bluffs.
This was helpful. Thank you. Just wondering how long did it take you to hike from cemetery to secret canyon?
Thanks, I can't remember but probably about 30 minutes.
I'm trying to find the lusk creek wilderness map you're referencing online with no luck. Anyone have a link?
I added a link to the map to the description.
