    The game involving forming new words with the last letter of the previous word is a popular game in Japan thought it is done by having rows race to the chalkboard to write. I like your idea of brainstorming before and after a lesson.

      i teach in china. it took me years to finally understand why some students take forever to answer. some are just afraid of making mistakes and others give answers based on what they think the teacher wants. for example what would you do with a bunch of money. many will say buy a book or take a long time to answer because they're not sure if they should say what they're thinking. just try to encourage them to go off the top of their and and that their are no mistakes. encourage them to try and reassure them .

      ام بشير ام طه hi there and thank you so much for your comments. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video. I appreciate that warmers with large classes are more challenging, but some of those I talk about in my video can be used with large groups of 50 or more. I would suggest that the Homework Grid could be used if you divide your class into teams of say, 6 each. Also, you could do the Alphabet Game with teams. I hope this helps x

    All this is well and good, but what do you do to motivate students who are forced to stay in a program in which they do not want and have no desire to be and in which they are kept up all hours of the night and then the teachers are blamed when they doze off in class?

    • @PalmTreeTeachingTV
      @PalmTreeTeachingTV  5 лет назад

      Hi Tom. Thanks for watching and commenting. In this very unfortunate situation which you describe, these warmers would be perfect for creating motivation and engagement for the students. I'm sorry to hear about children being treated so appallingly. A teacher can only do so much however, and they can only do and try their best. Can I ask where you are talking about and where you teach? Many thanks

    Great video my teacher, I have irrelevant question that friend of mine told me that one of the main characteristics of British accent is the British do not stress consonants at all , I mean they usually pronounce them softly. Is this true ?? Thanks in advance

    • @PalmTreeTeachingTV
      @PalmTreeTeachingTV  5 лет назад +1

      samar abdelwahab hi Samar and thanks so much for watching and commenting. I would say that most consonants, especially the plosives such as T, D, K etc are pronounced very strongly and distinctly. Not softly at all. However, it depends on the consonant, as the R in British English is virtually silent except when followed by a vowel. It’s quite complicated! X
