I've actually driven one of those, but it had a 350 SBC. It was my baddy's car in high school. I was in it when it almost rolled over, and another time when the hood flew up and then off - other than the torn-out hinge bolts, the hood was undamaged!!!
In the movie Unbreakable. Samuel Jacksons character (Mr. Glass) drove a Pearl Gray Checker Cab with purple crush velour interior. That setup has been a dream of mine ever since. I want a checker cab in a bad way. .. .. .. Dyno Day? . . . I've never heard of such an event where I live (Alaska). But, it sure would be a welcome indoor event during the long cold winters. Hmm, Interesting idea.
@@TokenTombstone with a set of regrinds guys spin them to 7500 with a crank pulley upgrade (which really has yet to be tested to see if its actually necessary or not).Another built engine was spun to 9k.
That's an extremely desirable car to me
I am willing to sell my 81 marathon. It was one of 26 used by Cokeacola to promote Serge soda.
LOve the old girl !!!!! Enough power to have fun and cheap enough to just drive and not worry !!
Thanks for reminding me that I need to find something to put a 4200 in
The gift that keeps on giving.
Also, I saw a Winnebago getting off of I95, at Lantana Road I think, in Florida last week, which had been swapped to LS power!
Yes the Old Girl pulls hard

@@FuelInjectionSucks i was wondering iv been looking for a aftermarket one for my truck couldn't find one
@@FuelInjectionSucks I put one in my 85 GMC Sierra single turbo going to be a fun ride
Who was saying trailblazer engine? Thought there was a legit AU Barra in the checker. Didn't realize Cory parted with the Checker already.
The Checker has a GM Vortec 4200. The Granada has a Barra.
AU's didnt have barras they came with 4.0L sohc intech's its the predecessor to the barra.
@@FuelInjectionSucks Ah, there we go.
@@FuelInjectionSucks Do you know if the 4200 in the Checker is running with the VVT system activated?
@@Gothamauto no VVT but the exhaust cam is retarded a few teeth.
Noyce
Turbo Vortec 4200 vs turbo barra
What was rpm?
Not mine, but I would assume around 5500 is going to max for that strait six.
@@TokenTombstone They rev to 6500 stock
@@thewraith6360 Ok that is more than what I thought they like to spin up to.

I wish I understood EFI , so much you can do with computerized engine management
Does the new owner have an instagram or something to follow it?
Would sound alot better with a tubular manifold but that was a really cool project seen all the vids on it multiple times.
