  • This video is a segment from a wallpaper hanging tutorial released a few months back. I've condensed it to focus solely on the process of pasting wallpaper, aiming to simplify the instructions for viewers.

    That's what I like about Phil, he's modest and proud of it.

    In the US i have never pasted this way. I use a paint roller. Works a charm.

      The easier option lol
      Depending on width of paper and also having control on the amount of paste I need to be applying...I have a roller
      Main thing is not getting excessive paste on the face and too much on that it over soaks

    Nice one Phil, just as I was taught. Brought up on LAP paste lol then moved on to solvite, I know there are some decent tub pastes available now which I’ve used. Those boards with the metal strips are a pain. I just use as a work station. May get around to lining with a 6mm ply one day but just adding to the weight.

    Hi Phil. Can you advise me the best way to use a knife when wallpapering, every time I try and use a straight edge with a new blade , the paper always pulls and rips the wallpaper. When I watch people do it like yourself , you make it look so easy. Keep up the great work Phil. 👍
    Regards Glen.

      @@glenwilkins8587 swap over to an Ofla blade.. check my amazon link out. The Black blades.
      Main thing is, don't try to cut wet dish cloth paper.. Lining apper and some cheap wallpapers will snag up. Use shears for those papers.

    We all know your a fan of wickes tub paste but do you thin it down or use straight from the tub? Thanks

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  25 дней назад

      I've gone off it recently.. I think they have changed the formulation.. as its gone very thin.
      Have a look at Brewers Albany YELLOW top paste, its how wickes used to be, where you can thin it as required, depending on what you're hanging.
