That looked like a ton of fun, I used to race motocross back in the day, I couldn't imagine running around that terrain on those little scooters, lol. Jason
The tires are tubeless, but you can put tubes in them if you can find the right size. But that wheel looks pretty destroyed to me. Fortunately Chinese scooter wheels are almost all the same, so you should be able to find another one. Most likely the reason the wheel bent was because the tire was under inflated. Inflate the tires to about 45 psi. And slow down. Chinese scooters will not hold up very long riding like that. The biggest problem you are going to have is keeping dirt out of the CVT. The CVT cover has vents at both ends. The front has sort of a filter, but it was not designed for dirt riding. The rear vent is completely open. The idea is when the scooter is being ridden on the street, the fan sucks in air through the front vent with the filter, and it comes out the back. But at low speeds in the dirt, It doesn't work very well, and dirt and gravel can get in through the rear vent and totally destroy the belt and pulleys.
This is bloody funny :-). Biggest problem here with these will always be the high centre of gravity on these scooters, that and the lack of rotational stability from the small wheels. Great to see how far you can make these things go though. Prepare for lots fried centrifugal clutches lol.
Awesome videos boys! :) can't wait to see the final products. Couldn't help but notice you guys seem to be based somewhere around the Armadale area. If you boys ever need a support vehicle on trips I'd love to join ya in my d22 navara
You should visit Cambodia I have done a couple of dirt bike rides over there and in the middle of the jungle while on a proper dirt-bikes old mate on a Honda nifty fifty scooter cruses by not breaking a sweat with a dozen ducks in the box on the back , its eye opener what they can get on a scooter , they are the ute of Asia
Thanks, glad you liked it! 🙂 the reason were calling them scooters one second and moped the next is a technicality as the Australian government classes anything under 50cc as a 'moped' 🙄
Just goes to show you don't always need a 4x4 to make an entertaining off-road video, solid effort👍🏼
So excellent ! I can picture one of those hot flame mirror puncturing a lung!
haha true! They didn't stay on long i'll tell you that much
thats one way to test a scooter out! looking forward to the next one...
This is awesome man, I can't wait to see part 2! Those things take an absolute hammering.

So you're planning to push these things? also don't use your front brake when turning at all off road (opposite of the street)
