I adore this video. My first experience with ASMR (though it didn’t have a name back then as far as I know) was in elementary school back in the late 80s and the teacher would turn out the classroom lights in the afternoon sometimes and pass around different fabric swatches for us to touch while she described the textures in this sort of slow, hushed and deliberate way. It was heaven for my second grader nervous system…and still is today at 39! Thank you, Maria.
I’m picturing you in a fabric store touching all the fabrics and listening to the sounds it creates and, honestly, that sounds like heaven to me. I absolutely love feeling the textures and listening to the sounds of different materials in a fabric store.

Thank you for the tingles and stunning fabrics - Reminds me of the G Street Fabric shop in Washington, D.C. (closed now for a decades, unfortunately). Every fabric was unique, amazing. I thought surely that was where they got fabric for movies. There was a separate room for the hand embroidered sari fabrics - those were absolutely out of this world! And the trims! Celtic designs in bullion knots, etc.
Just finished watching and oh my gosh, that was just Devine! My brain felt like it melted over and over! So good! The fabrics were all delicious, but the honeycomb one was next level. My eyes got so heavy! But I was determined to see the whole video lol Thankyou Maria. It was total perfection.
I have so much to say about this video! ♥ First of all, the fabric sounds are heavenly, you have the perfect pace and I love the combination of fabrics with your soft spoken voice. The large sequin clip made me think of one of your older videos (Discovering sounds) where you play with the background. I specifically replay that part over and over so I love that you did something similar here. The red honeycomb fabric was super interesting, really loved that one. Could not have asked for more, really loved this ♥ ♥ ♥
This reminded me of an old video you made with the party planning, you showed some fabrics to choose from!! If we could get another one of those videos that would be awesome tbh! I don't know how you can bear looking at a screen with a migraine 😮 A headache...okay, but not a migraine! I hope you have migraine-specific medication for it. Had a migraine just the once and it left me traumatised. No-one deserves that 😔💙
@@Loracanne I don't look at the screen when I have a migraine, in fact I wrap my head with a warm scarf and drag it over my eyes too, but I keep listening. I use Maria's videos when I have headaches and migraines all the time, she can give me tingles and calms me down even if I don't see. I use Ibuprofen, but in general tingles and sleep help me a hell of a lot more than any medicine. Unfortunately I have them so often, they became part of my life routine. It's a debilitating condition. Thank you for your kind words
@@norwAySMR with a migraine though? And you have to look at your phone or laptop screen to get into RUclips and find a video anyway 😅 The quietest,gentlest sound is like nails on a blackboard when you have a migraine. I have listened to ASMR for a plain old headache though.

I'm torn, here. The Blue velvet with the golden applique had such nice sounds, but I also felt stressed when Maria stretched the designs. But it sounds so good! Hahaha.

I just got my 2nd dose vaccine yesterday and have SUCH a headache today, but am still working (from home) - so I was so excited to see a soothing Maria video pop up to make this day less awful! ❤️
Good job! 👍 I get my second dose on Friday. Try a damp wash cloth, and put in the freezer for about 15 mins, and put on your head. I suffer from migraines, but cannot take the meds for it, so I've had to get creative. Yes, listening to Maria's videos help too. 💜
Try a combination of advil, Tylenol, damp cold rag on your neck, as well as a cold shower. Then lights out, listen to Maria, screen hideen. That's what works for me. :)

Love fabric sounds and this was a treat for the eyes! My favorite was the sequined cloth that you were rippling at 55:26. The multiple soft flashing of the sequins was so thrilling for my eyeballs! 🤩 I can't really explain it but it was a great unique visual trigger; like a flashing penlight but a hundred of them at random intervals. I don't know how you can bear looking at a screen with a migraine 😮 A headache...okay, but not a migraine! I hope you have migraine-specific medication for it. Had a migraine just the once and it left me traumatised. No-one deserves that 😔💙
@@Loracanne It's possible to just listen and not watch ASMR ;) I do the same thing when I have migraines.
@@Loracanne I don't look at the screen when I have a migraine, in fact I wrap my head with a warm scarf and drag it over my eyes too, but I keep listening. I use Maria's videos when I have headaches and migraines all the time, she can give me tingles and calms me down even if I don't see.
I use Ibuprofen, but in general tingles and sleep help me a hell of a lot more than any medicine. Unfortunately I have them so often, they became part of my life routine. It's a debilitating condition.

@@norwAySMR with a migraine though? And you have to look at your phone or laptop screen to get into RUclips and find a video anyway 😅 The quietest,gentlest sound is like nails on a blackboard when you have a migraine. I have listened to ASMR for a plain old headache though.

She is really my wonder woman! How is it even possible to relax someone, only with some hand movements. I follow her already 6 years or so, and never ever there was even one video that didn't give me tingles. She is my asmr hero for sure!
I'm torn, here. The Blue velvet with the golden applique had such nice sounds, but I also felt stressed when Maria stretched the designs. But it sounds so good! Hahaha.

I just got my 2nd dose vaccine yesterday and have SUCH a headache today, but am still working (from home) - so I was so excited to see a soothing Maria video pop up to make this day less awful! ❤️
Good job! 👍 I get my second dose on Friday. Try a damp wash cloth, and put in the freezer for about 15 mins, and put on your head. I suffer from migraines, but cannot take the meds for it, so I've had to get creative. Yes, listening to Maria's videos help too. 💜
Try a combination of advil, Tylenol, damp cold rag on your neck, as well as a cold shower. Then lights out, listen to Maria, screen hideen. That's what works for me. :)

I used to love going to the craft store with my mom when she needed fabric. Something about the sounds and the way they cut the fabric was so soothing to me

Love fabric sounds and this was a treat for the eyes! My favorite was the sequined cloth that you were rippling at 55:26. The multiple soft flashing of the sequins was so thrilling for my eyeballs! 🤩 I can't really explain it but it was a great unique visual trigger; like a flashing penlight but a hundred of them at random intervals.
