Randy, I have been looking forward to August for 11 months now! That's when I discovered the swim jig in 2023, and the "snapping or stroking" method. I was junk fishing last August, sweating my butt off from the bank and, I decided to tie on a swim jig. I was getting hung up in grass so, I started snapping it out to dislodge it. Voila, they started taking it! They took it on the fall half the time even though the fall was probably 2 feet. Sometimes after the snap I twitch it to make it look like it's injured and, the snap was their last gasp. The best part was, almost all of the fish were BIGGER FISH! It's a great technique in the heat of Summer because, you have to draw those reaction bites. They aren't really hungry or, most of them have eaten at night like you said. Also, if they are really tough to catch, I throw a Ned Rig. The Rapala Ned BLT is their favorite and for me has replaced the ZMan Finesse TRD as it stands better and is easier to rig. You have to slow down a bit and sometimes drag it but, the snapping off the bottom works here too! Draw those reaction bites or go home skunked. It works!

Yeah, we really appreciate you passing on some of your tips you've learned thru your many trips after the illusive largemouth! Please keep up the good work. Your response to the 'computer' game bass fishing with forward facing radar was "right on". Another good job by you and your friends! I live in Western KY not far from KY and Barkley Lakes just about a 30 min. drive from Reelfoot Lake. Holler if you're in the area and maybe we can try some of the best bass, blu-gill and crappie fishing in the Southeast part of our fine country.

Very different views; Matt @Tactical Bassin tells us to "embrace the suck" and go out during midday to catch big ones. Most anglers hit the water early or late, and a few at night where possible. Depends on your conditions, I think.

Im also curious what part of the country you are from. August baits in texas that are affective vs august baits in my waters north of hwy 8 in wisconsin im sure are much different. You should start generalizing a zone you are speaking about from south to north when speaking of these "working" methods.

I feel like you're talking about largemouth. The behaviours of smallmouth and largemouth are somewhat different. Where I fish it's usually smallmouth bass. Glacial lakes mostly. Whole different ballgame in water temperature preferences. Smallies will school up more. Though, of course, many of the lures and techniques cross over.

Most lakes up here in Ny DONT have smallies -i think alot of people that arent from the north just assume all we fish for here is smallmouth. We deal with the same august and september problems as the rest of the country

When you say an 1/8 oz slip sinker are you talking about a pegged Texas bullet weight or an unpegged cylinder shaped weight? Saw a couple questions on depth below. Remember to stay above the thermocline in August.

Water level is extremely low and looks awful. so hot these days. I use Dark sleeper, trick worm or senko , shallow or floating crankbait. I cast them where deep is 6fy to 8ft because of the water recede 3ft low. Not the same last year and year before last year. This month and next month is extremely difficult challenge.

I have 2 levels of lures: primaries, new lures I bought, or, secondaries; lures found and refurbished that I will throw into the cover and not worry if I lose it. 2 kinds of investors in life, those that take low risks and those that take high risks. Make calculated risks if you want bet high.

If you want more viewers, GET OUT ON THE WATER. Everyone has opinions , you aren't going to grow your channel giving opinions. There are 1000 pros with RUclips channels and most of them are on the water getting their rod bent. Have you ever seen a golf channel that someone giving golf tips from their truck? NO because golfers want to see someone demonstrate what they are telling you to do. A 30 handicap can sound like a pro if they know the terminology.
