@Dexter Wansel I truly love this remix version. Thank you Mr. Wansel for your many musical contributions to THE SOUND OF PHILADELPHIA and Philly International. It will always be the soundtrack of my life. TSOP will always stand the musical test of time. Peace be with you always.
Mr. Wansel, one of the most unique songs ever created. I feel like I’m in Egypt every time I listen to it. THANK YOU. Your music has enriched and enhanced my life in the most profound way. I’ve been listening to that song for over 40 years and its impact on me has not waned. To the contrary, it’s emotional impact on me, has only intensified. "Magical" is correct! If you could loop the intro for about 60 minutes, it will make a great meditation medium!! You can just SEE yourself in the dusty and majestic sands of Egypt, gazing upon the towering Pyramids built by OUR ANCESTORS. I love the soft horn in the intro!

I never knew how 1 song could remind you of the first time you truly fell in love ❤️ 😔. I remember the first time I saw her, it was our freshman year in Erasmus Hall High School 🏫 in Brooklyn, New York City. June Brown was her name. June was beautiful and she was from England, I remember our first day and our teacher Mr. Shanahan (may he rest in Paradise) began calling attendance and when he called out her name she answered with the most beautiful voice and all the boys turned around to see who that was 😅 and I knew then if I had an outside chance I would have to do what most African American male teenagers did not do. So I stayed up one night and I wrote her a very long "love letter." I was watching "Top Hat" with the late greatest 🕺💃Dancing duo ever Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers. Call me crazy but I would close my eyes and I could literally see June and I dancing while listening to love songs 😊. I had my closets freind Marvin give her the letter while I was looking through the back door of the class. I was shaking like a leaf and praying asking God to "Please let her take it " and she did, he didn't tell her who I was but in the letter I asked her to meet me a block away from school on the corner of a old church that had a cemetery in the backyard. I believe they were early European Settlers because the years on the headstones 🪦 were in the early 1800's. I was extremely shy and didn't know how to talk to girls 😅 but my friends made up the "cool kids" who wore good clothes and expensive sneakers back in the 80's. June met myself and martin at the spot and I was nervous I didn't know what to say 😳. June began blushing and smiling and slowly I opened up to her. I asked if we could walk her home but she said "no it's ok and I began to think that this was the beginning of the end I even prepared myself for the letdown but I will never find out 😢because one day I saw June talking to one of the players and I instantly became jealous and once she was done with her conversation with him she saw me waiting outside our classroom (waiting for the bell to ring) she smiled and said "Hello Roland" and I ignored her she kept asking me "what's wrong why won't you talk to me? I just stood there not making contact and smacking my mouth as if I was the "sh#t." Please excuse my language 😮, anyway after a day or two passed by I couldn't deal with not talking to her so I saw her going to one of our classes we had together and I told her how sorry I was and asked her to please forgive me. I received the same treatment I gave her, I thought that maybe she started talking to one of the football players so I said that I'm going to tryout for the team just so I could give her my football jersey 😂 how corny was that 😆 but back in the 80's and 90's if a female wore your jersey that met she's your girl 😅. Our teams were the worst in the city but one day June did not come to school I figured she had a cold because fall was coming upon us. One day turned into months and still no June so I began looking in the neighborhoods were most students lived but still nothing. I made up flyers and posted them all over different neighborhoods I even offered a reward of $300 to anyone who knew what happened to June Brown. I would go up on the roof of the building I lived in and would look up and asked God to please help me find her. I received a call months later that June and her family had to go back to England 😔 . I knew that the only way I was getting to England was if I joined the Military 🪖 which I did ( The Marines) and I saved myself for her and her only. That was from 1980 thru 1987 and I never forgotten my "Princess" 😊 I told her that it would be the name I'd call her. I've been through my share of relationships after I couldn't find June I even have children who are grown and I wonder how she's doing. Is she even still alive 😢?. I will not stop praying for her and I pray that God will allow me to see her just one more time so I could tell her how sorry I am and that after she left I was never the same. I apologize for the length of my comment and I would like to Thank you all. Wherever you are June Brown after so many decades have gone by I'm still in love with you ❤👸🏾💐 Sept 9th 1980 thru Dec 6th 2023 and beyond 😉 😊. Peace & Blessings Everyone.

This song desperately needed a 12" version. It's just so chilled and criminally underrated as a piece of music. Even this is over too soon. I'd love it if they gave this to a band and just let all the musicians have an old school jam. Let the strings have some fun, the flute, the bass, the keyboards. Just give them all a bag of 'herbs' each and then press record.

@@crimsonlion9741 Originally from Detroit, Michigan and WJLB always played it at night as well as the Electrifying Mojo on WGPR. Our version of the Quiet Storm.
