Weightlifting = snatch, clean jerk, squat. Powerlifting = deadlift, squat, bench. Pretty clear that you have to much more explosive to be a weightlifter because snatch and clean are dependent on it. You don’t have to be explosive to bench or deadlift. It definitely helps but doesn’t plateau people as much in powerlifting than weightlifting.
