Humanizing the good people within a corrupt and degrading Empire is the next step for Star Wars Storytelling. Characters like or similar to Thrawn, Pellaeon, and other silent dissidents are ridiculously important in fleshing out the Galactic Empire as a whole like how they did with the Separatists and Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars. The rebels aren’t all good and the empire isn’t all evil, and further greying the two choices deciding the fate of the galaxy would enrichen the OT even further

The siege of Coruscant lasted several month but the last imperials surrendered. "The Galactic Empire has fallen. "The center of Coruscant has fallen under rebel hands." I saw my mom cry but i did not understand what it meant. The stability was gone. Crime rose and our village was ruined by looting and civil wars because the Moff of our system was no longer there. At every attack of gangsters, i would Ask my parents "where are the men in white protecting us ? - They're not here anymore" Today, i'm an adult and i'm going to sign in the First Order, because i want our stability back, that's what i will stand for as a stormtrooper.

Everyone talks about how oppressive the Empire was, but no one talks how the Empire liberated the galaxy from pirates and crime syndicates for the first time in galactic history. Imperial times were the safest times ever to be a common citizen. And then came the rebel scum, and turned the galaxy into a lawless dangerous mess like it was before the Empire.

Come to think of it yeah, we don't see the Galactic Empire doing much chaos. The Seperatists from the Clone Wars actually wanted chaos, the Empire did very little destruction except for a planet destroyed, Luke's aunt and uncle killed. And most of their damages were against the rebellion. Even with Alderan destroyed, it's just one planet... We're talking about a galaxy here.

They enslaved the wookies, Vader killed multiple children and innocent civilians (the stormtroopers also assist in doing so), they blew up Alderaan, Jedha and Scarif for NO reason and don't forget operation cinder where they destroy planets simply cause their king old fart- I mean emperor died. The empire was evil and were not safe to live under.. I think the return of the jedi ending scene with planets having massive celebrations prove that trillions across the galaxy hated the empire. Don't forget owen and beru too, Who were burnt to a crisp because they MIGHT have been hiding rebels in their home. Now, I'm not saying the rebellion didn't have its flaws, But it's a WAY better choice to live under than the empire.

I like both but the Empire had stability which for a people under decades of war is more needed and wanted, but in my opinion honestly the Separatists kinda win it for me a galaxy wanting to rule itself and protect itself from the idiocy of the fat cats in the inner rim sign me up.For the galaxy the Empire is the better choice, for democracy the republic is better.
