It's one of the good things about the Internet that's still with us today: access to culture for everyone, and in the case of music, access to songs that were forgotten, or thought to be lost, or even unknown.
One of the most greatest COX's songs. I loved this track and the video since the first listening. The youngest Ronny was a dark star and this 4AD's movie style is taken from the compilation cd+video "Lonely is an Eyesore". A must!
Saw these guys in concert, back in the day. They were amazing! And Ronny was so sweet. He looked at the crowd and said, "It looks like a million people out there!" 😍
Lyrics. :) must write a letter to you I must make myself clear It is spot on time, right on cue I am a clam, somebody said to me It's obscene, there must be a motive behind It's obscure. there must be someone behind A muscovite mosquito, a muscovite mosquito A muscovite mosquito, a muscovite mosquito A vivid image anyway Someone said, you're a clam, Consider this ! Mmm, listen oh, listen to me, you're far A thousand miles away from here I am here, I am here in this ooze through country Trampled down by mega people A dispute will never end A retrospection ,it sounds obscene A disconnection, A final balance sheet for muscovite mosquito For muscovite mosquito For muscovite mosquito, it sound obscene It sound so obscure, for muscovite mosquito My final balance sheet is gone...... for Muscovite mosquito, muscovite mosquito It's spot on time, right on cue You missed the chance, somebody vexedly said It's obscene, there must be motives behind It's obscure, there must be someone behind
Whenever I think of these guys , this is the one song that always comes to mind first for me no doubt..but of course , I'd say that about all of their songs I am sure. They were consistent in what their music was at this point and I love it ! When I play these songs, I know what I am getting and love every second of it.
Everyone has a favorite Clan of Xymox song --- Muscoviet Musquito is mine. After "Lonely is an Eyesore" was distributed by 4AD, I had to add this to my collection. This was when Goth's had serious hair, shameless attitudes, and "real" music collections sitting at home.
I used to sneak up to see 120 minutes on Sunday night (a "school" night) and make sure the VHS tape started. Cocteau Twins, Lush, Cure, The Smiths, Clan of Xymox, and more. I loved that show.
They've been one of my favorite bands since the early 80's. Every 4AD fan should have "Lonely Is An Eyesore" since it's a 4AD compilation album. I have the original import, but it's available now as a domestic reissue, IIRC.
I went to a concert of to Toulouse (France) in 1992 it was brilliant in this period they were on the label 4 AD with cocteau twins, this mortal coil Thank you for this video
Great track, I ever loved it! I am rather desperately trying another COX's song titled "Move The Glass", which appeared only in one of their old live in 1985. Does anyone know if there is a version on CD? (including live, of course)
LOL why do I love this song? Rewind to fall of 1990: "Sandford god dammit, don't put crap like this on anymore when I'm tripping, it will stick with me for twenty years." Must be the acoustic guitar rhythm. Thank you for posting!
This version is from 'Lonely Is An Eyesore', an album released by 4AD in 1987. It was a sampler of 4AD bands from the period, and this video was created for it. There is a rare VHS video for this also. Other bands featured include Cocteau Twins, Dif Juz, Wolfgang Press, Throwing Muses and Dead Can Dance.
Does anyone know the name of a darkwave band where the video here on RUclips is basicly a black and white video of a tour through the cemetery? If anyone has any thoughts, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks you all!
Best Dutch band ever...and on 4AD...sjees...in that time it was a compliment to play on this label...love it....PS Robert Smith is somebody else...with there own good music but never played at 4AD...says enough (i think)xxx Autodafeh242, Amsterdam
@superdracones ya ha venido, varias veces, han tocado que yo sepa en Monterrey y Mazatlán, pero casi estoy seguro que en el DF y alguna otra ciudad también, yo los vi en vivo en el 2002.
@carpenoctem66 since never! I remember "120 minutes" when they showed the best bands (at least the ones I liked) life is sad for music, which is life, which means life is sad. How can we make life happy again?
Yeah all those bands were great especially the Pixies and Lush. In highschool, my friends insisted I was a dead ringer for Miki from Lush, I didn't see it but whatever.
it's amazing how internet grants access to all those vintage music videos...i love it
RUclips is a godsend in that respect.
It's one of the good things about the Internet that's still with us today: access to culture for everyone, and in the case of music, access to songs that were forgotten, or thought to be lost, or even unknown.
Esta es una de las canciones q deje grabadas en mis viejos casets en Lima... hacia años que no la escuchaba!!
Thanks!

A must!
The original line up COX is one of my all time favorite bands...This song is ingenious.
Saw these guys in concert, back in the day. They were amazing! And Ronny was so sweet. He looked at the crowd and said, "It looks like a million people out there!" 😍
I saw them with MOEV!
@@kelleyjackson5005 Same here, at One Step Beyond in Santa Clara. That was my first time seeing them.

Xymox is a great band, I listen this almost everyday. OMG!!! What a beautiful song...❤

Obsession is the one for me

That CD is a keeper
Those were THE DAYS!!
The 80's, the best decade.
@Jean-Pierre34 It was best because more people were awake and seeing the horror.
I used to sneak up to see 120 minutes on Sunday night (a "school" night) and make sure the VHS tape started. Cocteau Twins, Lush, Cure, The Smiths, Clan of Xymox, and more. I loved that show.
lol same!! I still am a huge Cure fan!! Great music!!! Good times!
One of the best COX's songs of ever.
This song creates such a powerful goth atmosphere, amazing!
I AGREE! MASTERPIECE
I hear this great song every saturday evening in the 80"s, in our Disco Roxy in Rheine. 😍 Greatings from Germany ❤️
I can’t stop listening to their music !!! Listening to goth music feels sooo deeply spiritual. I’m 22 and i think this will last my whole life
Check out Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure (obviously! 😊) and The Sisters of Mercy. You won't be disappointed. 😊
check my mixes

oh the memories...this was the song that got me into Clan and other dark bands :')

Fenway Fan yes!!! Ive gotta go digging for that now in my corner of Boston!
i got this lp, a compil of 4Ad bands . Great. if i remenmber, Cocteaux Twins, Wolfgang Press, Tuxedomoon, DCD,
absolutely. I still remember the specific VHS tape we ordered from the record store. Turned me on to good bands exponentially. : )
Yes! One of the best compilations ever! I still have the ltd album & VHS.
i wanted the comp only for that C.O.X. track.. i'm sure that the track is available elsewhere now, just a matter of tracking down a physical copy.
I have always loved this song. It's like the Gothic Rock version of Autobahn by Kraftwerk.
I've been listening to it for years and I can't get tired
omg!!! i love this song.... one of the songs of my life =)
es tb una de mis bandas favoritas.....
arf... qué recuerdos!!!

Excelente canción.
Se ve que de este vocalista y Robert Smith, tomaron la imagen para Saúl Hernández de Caifanes en 1987.
Saludos :)
Allays one of my Fav's from the 80's !!
Romantycy muzyki rockowej w czystej postaci !
One of the absolute best
Why does the beginning of this vaguely remind me of a slowed down version of Berlin's "Metro"?
Or Trans Europe Express.
Is a patern
...and a very well directed video...the carousel is absolutely ravishing...
7 years ago I listen this song for the first time exactly with this video.
By far their most effective and affective song for me.
Xymox forever an underrated band
SPK followers ... truly amazed for someone post this video ty :)
That's such a good song. Is there a video for it, by any chance? I've looked but haven't seen it, so I'm assuming no.
Badass song, badass band. Does anyone have a live version of NO WORDS you might be able to post?
Voice of the 80s great...
Yes, MTV use to have a program in the early 90's called 120 min. and they played "alternative" or non-mainstream music.
LOL why do I love this song? Rewind to fall of 1990: "Sandford god dammit, don't put crap like this on anymore when I'm tripping, it will stick with me for twenty years." Must be the acoustic guitar rhythm.
Thank you for posting!
Yay on my way to Clan of Xymox show tonight los Angeles ☺
is this an edit? i have the original EP on mp3 but wondering where it's possible to get this one? was it on a later remix comp/album?

Seing them live tomorrow!!! I'm psyched!
I saw this live in 1989 in Washington D.C. 💗
I dont regret living my 20s currently as a goth, this music gives me life and i feel complete
woah woah WOAH! Since when does MTV play actual music anymore?
Does anyone know the name of a darkwave band where the video here on RUclips is basicly a black and white video of a tour through the cemetery?

I remember going to the music store and buying anything with a 4AD label...we knew it was going to be "our" music!
Hace mucho no escuchaba esta cancion...

The Best/ Great great.......
Iove this band...
absolute classic m8
Em homenagem a banda que fez parte da minha adolescência coloquei o nome de louise na minha filha ❤❤❤❤
My personal favorite from C.O.X.
Why did the mighty Clan of Xymox never receive the same adulation and recognition that Andrew Eldritch and his band of Necromancers get?
Saint George Perhaps simply because one is Dutch & the other English though to you & i that shoudn't matter.
ollihp Actually meant wouldn't matter
What is a Muscoviet Musquito?
+Saint George Who is that?
+greeneking77 Muscoviet Musquito means Who is that?
Can't wait to see them in Baltimore this weekend!
This vid makes me remember: "House of love", "Sisters of Mercy", "The Chameleons"
"Blackadder"... Where the h*** did that last association come from.
Can't wait to see them November 14, 2018.
@superdracones ya ha venido, varias veces, han tocado que yo sepa en Monterrey y Mazatlán, pero casi estoy seguro que en el DF y alguna otra ciudad también, yo los vi en vivo en el 2002.
It was another time, another world. Different music, different words, think
@carpenoctem66 since never! I remember "120 minutes" when they showed the best bands (at least the ones I liked) life is sad for music, which is life, which means life is sad. How can we make life happy again?

I MUST EAT A MOSQUITO, I MUST MAKE MYSELF CLEAR
Obscure and dark is the way that I apreciate this master piece, it reminds me the first years when I was 6 in 1986.
Excelente ¡¡¡
Yeah all those bands were great especially the Pixies and Lush. In highschool, my friends insisted I was a dead ringer for Miki from Lush, I didn't see it but whatever.
