    Thank you for posting this. I would love to see a follow up video with the Arduino controlling a relay based on input to the Arduino. In other words if I press one button the relay would be activated for one second. If I press a second button the relay would be activated for 10 seconds and if I press a third button the relay would stay activated unless a separate signal told Relay to shut off.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  2 года назад

      Hi, what do you mean by "how can i long the light on" do you mean "How can I change the time the light is ON?" if so, then just add delay(2000); after the line where the light is ON. this will keep it on for 2 seconds. for 10 seconds make it 10000 (millisecond) and so on. the same way you can do it with OFF.

    I can't find many people who use single relays and arduinos with AC devices, so thanks for the video! To clarify though, you said that you have to know the "load" on your device (that you plug into the relay) so it doesn't melt the relay? What if my device doesn't say? Thanks again

    • @robojax
      @robojax  5 лет назад

      You are welcome. Sorry I have replied the next day and it has not been published. You should be able to find the rating. The Air conditioner, Large Pumps, Washing machine with dryer are those which are beyond the rating of this relay. Some toaster are large and above the limit. But do research online, use google image, take photo of your device and upload it and you will find the item with details.

    Do we still need a relay if our power source for the arduino is a 12v Battery (Like for motorcycles) and light up a bulb from a 12v Battery power source also?

    • @robojax
      @robojax  5 лет назад +1

      If you watch the video, you will know the relay is a switch. If you need to turn light ON or OFF in a certain way like turn on for 3 sec and off for 8 sec then you need Arduino and the relay (or there is a programmable relay module). If that is not the case then use normal switch.

    I want to run pneumatic solenoid (24 Volt DC) using Arduino....do I need a 24 volt battery for it or just a 9Volt small battery connection to the Arduino is enough?

    • @robojax

      Arduino needs it is own power so 9V will work for it. For your solenoid, you need separate power. In this case instead of bulb use your solenoid and instead of AC use your 24V.

    • @robojax

      earth is for safety. You should cut live. But neutral will also work. Live is somewhat safer.

    • @ArcanePath360

      Please be careful. In AC Earth means something different. In DC earth is really what neutral is in AC. When transferring AC to DC you ignore the AC Earth.

      This is very normal. There are two types of relays. Your relay is LOW level trigger. Meaning it is activated with LOW and goes OFF with HIGH. For this reason the code looks the opposite of what you expect.
