petrol stations are actually 2/24 open in big cities such as istanbul, ankara, izmir. Touristic cities such as Antalya, Mugla or Aydin also has 7/24 petrol stations available in summer time. You must be probably the unluckiest person to find a petrol station that is not open at 10AM, or perhaps you were not near city centre. This video popped up on my main page so as a Turkish citizen who lives in the UK i thought i will drop a comment :)
bro you have to use a adapter like magnet phone holder its too dangerous look at the phone while you are driving because some people jump front of you. And I suggest u If you drive in Turkey for a while don't involve any fight with someone its too dangerous.
Normally the phone would be connected to the radio threw bluetooth . But I couldn’t do that for the video because music will play. And can’t have music in the video.
Glad to see you immediately started driving like a true Turk. Start the car, start moving, then pick your phone up and play with it. You missed out lighting a cigarette up though 😆
The roads over here are very good condition. All of the gas stations were closed. Maybe on Sundays they don’t open until 10am. Also noticed traffic over here never starts until late in the day.
@@1970chevelle396 then let u go on your way ? Only asking as I'm going next month and I'm band from driving in the UK but still hold my uk drivers licence so I should be OK 👍 thanks for replying mate
@@1970chevelle396 yes mate just returned from turkey they still have the check points but they waved me straight through probably knew I was a tourist in a rental car etc
@@1970chevelle396 Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Good, I was wondering if an Int license was required or not. Now, time to search for an affordable rental company. Hey, do you know anything about the HES code? Do we need it and will they ask for it?

Thanks for the insight. I'm going to Turkey tomorrow and have never driven on the right hand side before so it's helpful to see.
Thanks
Automatic transmission is good option for tourist
At 2:18 I love the fact that you actually stopped at that flashing red light -- no one in Turkey seems to do that.
Because you don't have to. It's a yield sign
And so u only stop when there are cars coming
@@TurkiyeGeography no. A flashing red light is the same thing as a stop sign.
@@TurkiyeGeography that’s how it is in Turkey not in other countries

The roads look to be in good condition overall . Odd to see the stations not open in the mornings.

Thank you so much for this video! I want to ask you, is it dangerous driving in turkey? I am from the UK, how much to hire for a day
It’s not to hard to drive in Turkey. Taxis are cheap if you find an honest one. Most taxi drivers will try to scam you.
what was the daily rent?
Interesting Ken!
Thanks
What would happen at the police check points ?
They just ask to see your passport and drivers license

Hey, do we need a special license to rent a car in Turkey or can I just use my California driving license?
You can rent it with just your California license. I also have an International license, but they never asked to see it.
