I'm just starting out making silver jewelry, and this is the flex shaft that I purchased for my home studio. I didn't care for the foot peddle though, so I bought the Foredom one and it works like a champ. As a newbie to this industry, I couldn't justify the price for the Foredom flex shaft right out of the gate, but I don't think I'm any worse off with this one, which makes me exceedingly happy! Glad to hear that you like it too.
Thanks for the info on the Grobet flex shaft. I'm getting into woodcarving and thought this might be a good quality, budget minded option and would appreciate your thoughts. Also, is the detent handle interchangeable with Foredom clone items? I liked that small QD handset you were using. Any info on it?
Hiya, As an electrician, I don't recommend using the power flex as an anti-tork device. You will damage the flex or terminations over time. Use a spring from the silver-coloured hanging bracket to the upright instead. Strang editing where you put an end on then cut to putting it on, or the same with tools, disconcerting lack of continuity.
It's a great, inexpensive alternative when you need something. Be careful, some of the Foredom handpieces don't fit and vice versa. I've also had an issue with their peddles being less sensitive.
I need a dang engraver lol an a flex shaft but I got everything else. I been using a drimmel it’s like a pen but check out some of my work I’ve only been doin it about 7 months but I do it 24/7 I’m afflicted alraady lol
