  • OXFORD, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- There were a lot of new faces mixing with the old on the campus of Miami University Friday, August 22.

New-look residence halls joined the traditional red brick ones. And of course, the new kids on campus, the freshmen, joined the upperclassmen.

On the Western campus, first-year students Dan Boylen and Michael O'Malley had to ask directions to the rec center. They were a long way off! It's tough finding your way around. Dan and Michael will be roommates for the coming year so they were also getting to know one another.
Sophomore Anna Glover was getting move-in help from her mother, Susan, outside Minnich Hall. While some students used teamwork, others enlisted mom and dad.
While the freshmen may stress over how to get around and making new friends, they're enjoying being free from the "nest" for the very first time
Miami students can boast they're attending school in one of the top places to live in the country. Livability.com ranked Oxford number three on its list of 10 best college towns, behind Ames, Iowa and Logan, Utah.
