- We make our annual trip to Jacksonville, FL for Welcome To Rockville 2019. It rained, then it rained some more. In between the rain, some bands played. This is our 3 day experience. 72 hours boiled down to 40 minutes.

I didn't say any of the bands suck. Obviously, we paid full price to see the bands in the lineup. I said that some of them are nostalgia acts (they are) and haven't released anything relevant in some time. As a result, they don't sell tickets well for the festival and it's why they dropped ticket prices for Friday and Saturday's shows to $20 for each day. Many of the same bands are playing Epicenter in NC this weekend and we just bought tickets for $1 each for the entire weekend.
ViewFromTheCheapSeats how did you get tickets for $1 ? How do you know they’re legit?
Hunter Simons The links to buy at the reduced rate are all over the Rockville Facebook pages. They are 100% legit and have come up before for Rockville festivals when the full price sales have tanked. The links go right to the same page to buy normal tickets, but offer options to buy at reduced prices.

Cool video. Meshuggah would have been the only band I wanted to see out of that line up. I would have seen them, then I'm out. I've done it before.

Papa roach went nuts. Rockville was my first ever concert this year and when I saw them i went moshing and crowd surfing. Definitely will go again!

I know I'm old but I think I'm actually kind of close to your age at any rate as someone who came of age in the 80s it is always nice to see that metal is not dead not even close

So touching on what you said at the end, the event was gonna be held at Daytona, only to be canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic. Metallica was to be the headliner for two nights. Personally they would have been the only band I would have cared to see, the rest being just time fillers for me. The rival event known as WJRR's Earthday Birthday got pushed back to Sep 5, which I have tickets for, and hopefully will go on.
Grew up listening to Meshuggah with my step dad, this event was my first time ever seeing them. Got front and center on the guard rail for it. They DID NOT disappoint.
I've seen Meshuggah many times since 1999.
They never disappoint.

Was an amazing weekend. I'm glad I'm not the only one who left when kicked out on friday and didn't go back. My first Rockville n whole thing was confusing. Didn't know there was an app to get updates.
Kept an eye out for you both! My favorite surprises were: Yelawolf, Fever 333, Struts and when Papa Roach did "Firestarter".
"TOOL" got boring pretty quick. The fancy screens and effects were cool but even Pink Floyd would mix all of that fancy video stuff up with a few shots of the ACTUAL MUSICIANS PLAYING ON STAGE!!! They could have just had ONE screen dedicated to Danny's feet on the drums. Just sayin' ;-)
Sorry we didn't see you. I enjoyed The Struts much more than I anticipated. Papa Roach's cover was unexpected and awesome!

Beartooth was awesome as always. Somewhere in our videos here, we have one when they played at a small club with Silverstein about a year or so ago. It was one of the best shows we've ever seen.

We ended up watching most of Tremonti's set. I saw him the last time he was at Rockville as well, with a much smaller crowd. I love his stuff.

Great video Kyle.. So when you left on Friday, did you go back? I live like 2 miles north of there and am pretty sure I heard the music going until like midnight.. And that storm on Sunday was no joke.. Some serious lightning and thunder at my house.. That Gator statue, when I was a kid back in the 70's used to be down in St. Augustine on U.S. 1 just north of Historic Downtown at an Alligator place, (not the Alligator Farm). And as far as the plans you were talking about there near the end.. The city is talking about tearing down that overpass, which in my opinion is just so crazy!!!
When we left, we went back to the hotel, cleaned up (we were soaked and caked with mud) and went to Hurricanes for some wings. I promptly passed out afterwards and I could hear the music across the river at our hotel as well.
I saw Mosh Pit Jesus at Blue Ridge Rock last year in Virginia. Thats crazy lol
Yes there was water fountains and a bottle water fill station it was a big hose with multiple hoses off it, beyond the gator. Sorry you missed it, but there was hydration stations. Yes the prices went up on drinks. That was no bueno. But they definitely had free water. Someone drop a pic.
We totally missed the water hose until we saw a post on FB about it by the tiki hut after the event ended. They certainly didn't promote the water station like they did at Warped Tour.
I wanted to see Yelawolf and Korn and Rob and shit but that Tom Morrello... Amazing. RIP Chris Cornell
You made the right decision least going out in the rain for ltt but should have been in crowd to see mosh pits during the rain it was lit. Howard did an amazing opening. Some of crazy crappy moments like pouring rain while screaming An dancing with a whole bunch of strangers who are all for the same thing at a concert ends up being the best memories.
I missed a bunch of the pits this year. I'm getting too old for this stuff!!! LOL

Yep, that's May in Florida -- rain, rain and more rain. And possibly some tropical storms and/or hurricanes too. I'm going to try for Daytona in 2020 though -- I really want to see Social Distortion and Rancid.

I wanted to go only Saturday this year. Mainly to see Wage War, Judas Priest and Rob Zombie. But IMO last years lineup appealed to me more. Last year was a blast. Hope next year is a solid lineup.
I think the lineup last years was miles better than this year.
Wage war was fantastic. I actually went moshing my first time at their set it wad badass.

The beer and whiskey were both pretty good, actually. The beer is from Stone Brewing and kind of tastes like Sam.
I didn't see priest or zombie but shinedown killed it.
I actually enjoyed this year is welcome to Rockville every single year I watch it on RUclips from you guys I only had to fast forward through two bands because I don’t do heavy metal and Shinedown was amazing as always I am kind of bummed that you guys didn’t get to see evanescence you’re one of my favorite bands and I’ve never seen them live other than that great job and can’t wait for next year

My first trip to Rockville was pretty cool and I missed all the rain Saturday... Yelawolf put on a great concert and Priest was amazing but Rob let me down a little. lol

We seemingly ran into everyone in the world on Saturday, except for you guys. I think Zombie's voice is a little harsh these days. I'm not sure how it would work at the Speedway, since they use multiple stages. It would be interesting though, and a lot closer to get to.
I was standing in line while it was raining on Sunday. All for Tool lol!
13:06 - 13:13 OMG! You found those dudes! I saw them when they left their car and were walking across the C & D parking lots to the East Entrance. (I was coming back around the from other side of the stadium from picking up my $20 Saturday wristband and going back to my car). I meant to take a picture, but they were literally walking right behind me when our paths collided. XD

I'm trying to go to Aftershock next year and your videos help a lot I like seeing the festival. IM NEVER ABLE TO GO(I serve overseas in The Air Force) I really wanted to go this year some of my favorite bands were on the lineup this year(The Cult and Crobot to name a few) This video was really awesome like it is every year
By the way you can't get mad that you buy tickets early then they get offered at a lower and reduced price it happens all the time. It happened when I went to go see Soundgarden and NIN. It is unfair they should tell in advanced that they're going to do that but at the end of the day it is what it is. We don't know the other side of things and how they work. All I can say is I'm happy I at least get to go to the concerts I go to. If somebody else gets to go at a free or reduced price Cool!! I'm happy for them

wage war was probably my favorite show from the whole festival, and we even left rockville to go to their headlining show at a venue downtown later Saturday night. They always know how to put on a good show and the vocals sound exactly like they do on record.

I thought it was a good lineup but definitely yes the Merchandise and Food prices are definitely ridiculous now. I think they kind of realized this and were letting multiple bottles of water in. Brought in 2 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday and some granola bars just to see if they were enforcing the rules or not
