  • Here's my first real planespotting video, at Bradley International Airport (KBDL). Here we feature:
    Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-8H4 - N8321D from Chicago/Midway
Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200 - N358NW to Detroit
Emirates Airbus A380-800 - A6-EEK to New York
This was a diversion for a medical emergency or something. But still, it was an enormous sight to see!
    Enjoy!

The bad weather or heavy traffic at JFK airport or , use too much fuel for the circles around JFK.

I believe the minimum field length for landing for an A380 is around 7000 ft or so. Taking off fully loaded would be 10,000 ft +. That place clearly diverted and then carried on to its original destination with much less payload. Therefore it can easily operate into and out of (given less weight) of KBDL

I remember going up to Bradley years ago when they used to have the terminal-top observation deck open for plane-crazy people like us. Then they closed it up for security reasons. Now I hear that the old terminal B building is pretty much torn down or about to be..........nice little airport. Now I've got MCO in my back yard......

We were at the other end of Runway 24 when the A380 took off today! Caught it by chance on the way to the Big E. I wonder why it landed at Bradley? I heard it was en route to KJFK. Nice video, BTW!

It diverted here from JFK, I'm not sure why because weather in NY was fine that day. But thank you!

A380? At Bradly int’l? Impossible that’s the biggest plane at the smallest commercial airport

Not the smallest commercial airport AT ALL, but it's not the biggest.

Parking lot of M&J bus at 1353 South St. Do it on the weekends when the busses aren't running. But be warned: the Connecticut State Police have a habit of showing up and harassing people who are plane spotting. Just relocate to another spot until they harass you again.
