That's EXACTLY it! Seek first the Kingdom of God and all things shall be added to you. I am convinced also... I got real with God, in my late thirties, but I was more angry than you, at my wit's end. I grew up Christian, but was repelled by the hypocrites, and searched for "the meaning" to life everywhere BUT the Bible. Always these other "fillers" were a dead end. The scripture I had learned in private school kept coming to mind. I WANTED TO KNOW GOD. BUT I didn't even LIKE Him in the Old Testament, let alone love Him with my heart, soul, and mind. So I said "Show me then! If You are God, SHOW ME, because I know NOTHING." I meant it, wholeheartedly, I wanted to know the One True God, and was willing to give up all I thought I knew, for what was Real. It doesn't happen overnight but looking back it happened rather rapidly. I saw the world differently, like through His Eyes, as much as possible anyway, and it changed me forever.
