It's a project I've hyped up on social media back in 2016-2017, but took a break from due to stuff in my personal life. I'm about half way done with it, but I plan on finishing it eventually.
Believe it not, prior to releasing this video I actually planned on creating an Ideas entry, so I slightly retooled this creation to be non-transforming so that it could be presented as merely a replica of the console (similar to the LEGO NES set). Unfortunately, the proposal got rejected in advance due to licensing issues with using Nintendo as an intellectual property.
This piece of work is incredibly detailed, well done And as of right now before typing this comment, I realized that this was released on my birthday, "October 9th" That's a coincidence for me, but also for others to see this astonishment by this video you've made too. Still, good work!! 😄
@@baron_von_brunk It's up two you, your dance, man. =3 Side note: I only ever used AsciiPad controllers for my SNES, which I still own. I currently use it w/ adapter cable to pkay NES/SNES emulators plus MegaMan Maker. I'm think of pianting it white w/ black highlights to make it look like a PS5 controller.
I know this robot is a singular robot, but I can't help thinking he kind of looks like Bruticus, the Decepticon combiner. The head certainly looks the part, but I also think it looks like a 5 part combiner, just like Bruticus.
@@baron_von_brunk I knew it! From a design standpoint, I also like Computron the most. But my personal favorite is still Superion, since he's the first Autobot combiner.
@@baron_von_brunk That's awesome! My dad only ever bought me a single Transformer, Goldbug. Everything else I bought with lunch money that I saved up. I never owned any complete Combiner, just bits and pieces. Of the Aerialbots, I only had Air Raid and Slingshot. The closest I ever got to a complete set was the Pretender Monsters. I think the guy I missed was Wildfly. So here I was, playing pretend with a Monstructor that lost one arm. Those were fun times :)
Make the intro into a seperate 2 minute video. People be like 'no way in hell am I watching an 18 minute video' if you share, but it's too cool not to share. Especially with that music and sounds. Well done.
That was actually my original plan. I initially wanted to just have a simple 1-2 minute animation as a single video, but as I was finishing the whole creation, I decided to make the video much longer so I could explain each of the design details, so that other people could use my concepts for inspiration.
I’m new to lego, I bought my first kit a couple days ago which was the nes set. Just finished it last night, I was super disappointed lego didn’t make a retro Nintendo line. I guess I gotta make it myself 😭
There actually was a retro Nintendo line released in 2020, with an NES/TV combo being one of the sets. I assembled it on a livestream last year, but the video has been taken down.
Hi, "Baron Julius von Bruno." I really like this build that you made for your LEGO SNES system. 👍 1:05-1:44 Do you have the instructions for "Super Famitron" (SNES system) to post on Rebrickable?
I don't have instructions for the actual console system since it was too elaborate to deconstruct, however I have instructions for the controller and game cartridge in the description.
@@baron_von_brunk Okay. But is it okay if you make the instructions for the actual SNES console system for me please? Maybe you can send me a link to the instructions after when you are done making them.
@@BrickMeisterZ Unfortunately that would require dismantling my entire project and creating the instructions painstakingly in Stud.io, which I'm not about to do. I tried submitting this to Ideas last year buy got rejected, but maybe they'll give me a second chance; who knows.
@@baron_von_brunk That’s because LEGO doesn’t want to do Nintendo based projects as LEGO Ideas sets because they kept rejecting them. But instead of Ideas, do you have other plans to make instructions for your LEGO SNES console? That way, you can make them through Bricklink Studio and not through LEGO Ideas.
There actually are officially licensed Nintendo models available from LEGO, but the problem with Transformers is that they're a registered trademark of Hasbro, and as far as I remember, Hasbo has their own plastic brick line called Kre-O which is like a knock-off of LEGO, but they have Transformers sets.
It's a bunch of various songs from Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, Earthbound, and Super Mario World. The main songs at the beginning are from Star Fox.
@@baron_von_brunk I was the opposite. Had Nintendo systems as a kid, but only ever played Genesis when I was at my cousin's house. Wound up buying a Genesis for myself years later, and Gunstar Heroes ended up being one of my top 10 favorite video games.
@@ThelronFjord For us it was just kind of happenstance. We got a Genesis because one of my mom's friends left it at our house one day and said we could keep it, then after its decline we moved onto N64. Also all of my neighbors had Genesis instead of SNES, and some even had the SEGA Channel.
The 3-D software for the instructions are used with stud.io, which is freeware officially released by LEGO: www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/download.page
The use of star fox music was phenomenal.
Nobody calls Baron uncrasamatic!
This video should be millions of views!! Amazing job
Fantastic.
awesome moc dude!
Great work here ... So smooth no gaps!
17:56 This the first time I’m hearing of this feature length brick film.

Pure Genius - BRAVO !
This is probably one of the best builds I have ever seen 😮I’m so impressed
The based department must be blowing up your phone with calls, because this is the most based moment ever
This needs to be an Ideas 💡 set ASAP!

This is amazing. I loved how u use Super Mario All-Stars as the cartridge!😍
Wouldn't be cool if there was another Lego snes cartridge but in red for Spiderman: Maximum Carnage with a minifigure head of Carnage.
everything about this makes me smile ;)
important engineering research, thank you for your service
Well this is pretty awesome.
So cool I pressed the like button twice
Quite frankly.. I am more impressed with your smooth stop motion.. :o
Awesome! I created a lego gamecube + controller recently but this blew me away.
This video deserves 1 million of views!

Who knew Ron Swanson played with Legos!
I'd like to imagine that all the purple is dark energon "the blood of unicron the very life essence of his"
This is fucking awesome, I hope you plan to do more. I'd love to see an atari
1: PolyBoss
2: D&K (Donk and Kong)
3: Super NinTron
You should do a third controller - the Ascii Pad with the Turbo and Auto switches.
Perhaps: maybe instead of transforming into another gorilla, it can transform into a gun for Super Famitron!

Super Nintendo Superior
Genesis Inferior
To be fair, I was actually more of a Genesis fan as a kid, since that's what we had - but I played SNES regularly at my aunt's house!

Wheres the instructions for the console
