Electric Light Orchestra - Sad Affair (OutFAKE)

- This song is not real! In 1981, ELO released "Time," one of the greatest records ever. It was originally slated to be a double album, with five songs ultimately left on the cutting room floor. Three of these eventually surfaced as singles and bonus tracks, but "Time Transporter" and "Sad Affair" elude fans to this day.
There's an alleged quote from an old engineer working on Time that Sad Affair was a cross between the Discovery outtake Second Time Around and Secret Messages track Letter from Spain, so like my fake Time Transporter, I used a stem extraction tool on those two and threw them in a blender. This takes more liberties than the other outfake, with some C64 samples buried beneath the OB-Xd and some ANWR-era Bev Bevan samples serving as the drums on the outro.
I was not the first person to have this idea, and if you like this you'll LOVE Clayton B Martin's reimagining of Second Time Around as a Time song:

As a wise man once said "Jeff Lynne's trash is another man's gold"
Anything with Jeff Lynne gets a thumbs up 👍
👍🏻😎
Loving this! ELO is the absolute best, shame they never actually relaesed "Sad Afffair"
I saw this tour at Birmingham NEC January 81!
Mix of demos and official releases, well-bonded and easy connection over them, sounds fine!!
Beautiful song
I will light your way tonight
I want you second time around
Come with me I´ll show you all
I want love you second time around
Became Letter From Spain, and Second Time Around still not finished!
Actually sounds like a Jeff Lynne song. Damn I wish I had this talent lol.
I pray Jeff Lynne Used A.I. to finish Second Time around With Discovery atmosphere Kelly back ground vocals, and all the same members on the vidéo
This is fucking amazing, i wish was as talented as you
Keep it up jeff is light year's a head of time 🙋🏼♀️🙋👍
Przecież to jest nic innego jak "Latter From Spain". Song który pochodzi z LP "Secret Messages" z 1983 r. Jeff Lynne zmienił nieco styl i charakter piosenki i dodając więcej keyboard
Соткали из кусочков лоскутное одеяло и выдали эти строматы за творение Джеффа.😊
Coś pięknego😅
well done bud , nicely interpreted , write stuff myself kinda elo like , or so folks say, but always loved 2nd time around wondered how it could be remixed
Trippy!
Super 👍👍👍👍
It is no longer clear where the real rarity is, and where is this product of an Ai neural network
Good one! 💯👍
Sencillamente maravilloso!!
"Julie don't live here anymore" also a missing cut from 'Time' album.
Zgadza się, jednak "Sad Affair" został przeniesiony do późniejszego albumu jako "Letter From Spain" w !Secret Messages".
It's so Wonderful❤
This is NOT Sad Affair. Sad Affair is a fast tempo song, similar to the tempo of Twilight, and was never released as another song.
This is a very cool demo of Letter From Spain, tho!
this was based off alleged comments on the Jeff Lynne Song Database site from an alleged engineer on Time who allegedly heard the song. i had taken it as gospel at the time but since then it's sounding less and less true. i'll be thrilled to have been wrong if it means we can hear the real original song someday! but yeah, even then i believe the original alleged quote allegedly alleged it was *like* Letter and Second Time Around and not necessarily recycled from or into it so either way this is definitely an outfake with an emphasis on the fake
@@_netnomad2828 Yes, I see. Very creative mash up of the 2 songs! I confess I didn’t listen to the whole thing before I posted that comment. I went back and listened to it and I apologize for overreacting.
I am the one who posted the original comments about Sad Affair. It was on an ELO fan mailing list called Showdown. The engineer in question was Brendan Higgs, whom I met several time through my wife. He attended my wedding back in 1996 and gave me as a gift a tape with an unreleased song on it called Sad Affair. I had the tape for a few years and listened to the song many times. Unfortunately, I let a buddy borrow the tape and it was lost. I assure you, it is not a hoax. The song exists and is an uptempo song in the vein of Twilight, though not nearly as good. I’m considering posting a video and playing on guitar what I remember about the song. Would you be interested in that?
@@theunlikelyhiker6557 I'm taking quite the risk by openly replying to this message, but as someone who has spent over twenty years researching ELO and even helping a few rarities find their way into circulation, I'll jump on any lead I can. In this case, I'd certainly be interested to know whatever you might remember of a track considered by many to be one of the band's greatest holy grails still unheard by most of us. Perhaps I may even have a few bits to share in return...
@@theunlikelyhiker6557 that would be awesome! i appreciate you taking the time to even just write these comments- it's always great to hear firsthand stories like this
А вот не знаю этой вещи хотя вроде всё собрал но как всегда великолепно
Послушайте ELO "Second Time Around" Eniac Remix...
@@NataLy-b4n5v Очень достойная версия.
So, fake AI garbage.
none of this is AI other than the vocal separation.
