If that's what he's thinking he's either extremely stubborn or being advised very poorly. No team in nfl is going to guarantee him anything significant after a year of not playing. Best case scenario after a year hold out a team will give him an incentive laden contract.

It's hard to know where to stand on this because we don't know exactly how far apart the sides are right? If JD made him an offer what was it and how close was it to Reddick's asking price. Are they $3M/$4M per year apart? If so maybe offer to meet him in the middle. If the Jets have committed to make some sacrifices to get the deal done and Reddick is just sitting on his number not budging then I'd say let him sit and let the rest of the league see just how petty he's willing to be over an annual salary and let that hurt him when he hits the open market. Maybe this tweet means the deal got done.

If jets don’t fold to his demands he’s going to sit out till week 9 or 10, and he’ll come back to accrue his season. After that he’ll do one of two things, try to ball out to entice teams to give him the bag as a free agent or be a total distraction every week with anemic play, a mysterious injury or trash talking the organization through the media. I don’t know much about him, don’t know if he’s that type of dude. Just going by what’s happened before in these type of situations.
