Reload on release ratio’d the player count of every single game mode in existence. It’s not as big as it was today, but it still pulls decent amounts of players in both build and zero build. It’s a perfect alternative for those who don’t like how battle royale is in its current state.
My biggest issue with br is the bots...the lack of bots in reload is what's makes it more fun...I play both but I wish they would remove bots in br and maybe make rebooting faster aswell... usually endgame is dead in br
I don’t like the direction of where Fortnite has been going. I loved Chapter 4 almost as much as Chapter 1. But man Chapter 5 has really made me question what the devs are thinking when they add so many op items and mythics, as well as bombard us with so many collabs. The car season actually made me quit, and the only time I quit playing fortnite was right after Chapter 2 Season 2 and didn’t return until Chapter 3. But reload has kept me playing because I enjoy the gameplay. I am hoping that Chapter 6 is way better though because I don’t want to only be playing Reload.
@@_Turtle_420fr he is the true king not nick eh 30 now they always add op items they have way more bugs and the story line isn't as interesting as it once was
BR is just a Disney ran colab factory now. Reload can be fun in small doses but get's boring after five or so games. IMO. Fortnite is heading in a strange direction and It isn't for everyone.
I think they added Reload because BR is never going back to the way "OGs" want it. There's always gonna be some sort of theme or special item(s) in BR, so they released Reload for the people who like old school fortnite.
id love to play BR more but i hate playing with bs items or mechanics. the nerf to the drop chance of the backpack made it more frustrating to lose to, so i go and play reload. honestly this chapter as a whole has been pretty weak for me, but stuff like reload keeps me in instead of quitting entirely to play a different game. i actually love the update cadence for BR, the pace is quite fast and i really enjoy each update but it gets soured quick because of the cheese. the gameplay in reload is absolutely solid, its kinda just fundamentals and when i lose in that game i dont feel as frustrated. ill take a sweatier lobby if it means not having to deal with jetpack ironman gloves/ america shield and the auto turret.
I started fortnite only few months ago because of my son.. I still like playing BR, I complete story-/daily-/side-quests to gather XP and proceed with the battle pass.. But since I discovered the Reload, I found out, it's my kind of game. Simple, straightforward, basic quite realistic weapons without modifications, so you allways know, that opponent has the similar firepower as you have.. It's perfect for us, older guys 🙂 And after several games, you come across players who play team-game or have mic, so you build up a pool of friends you're comfortable playing with and no longer have to rely on randoms..
For me it’s the simplicity that makes me want to play Reload, I don’t care about the nostalgia, I just want to hop on and play a simpler shooter that I have a solid chance in rather than worrying about countering all the new stuff and the medallions that feels like more of a chore to play in BR tbh
It wouldn't do well, but I'd get a kick out of a reload that added all the broken stuff at once. Shockwave hammer vs infinity blade vs iron man vs kamehameha vs exotic maven vs spiderman gloves vs the Rock's MK7...
I definitely like reload better, but not because of the nostalgia.. I've only been playing since April, so I don't know anything before that... If reload went solos, I'd play it more.. It's just guns, simple mobility and with the exception of some mythic weapons, it's mostly even... Skill vs skill... My skills aren't anywhere near yours, Jake.. But at least when I lose in reload, I know it's because I was mostly out played and I try to learn from it... I do still enjoy BR, but there's definitely a difference.. I can play BR, have 10 kills and get destroyed by someone with a full iron man load out with hover jets and I'm only their second kill with 3 people left... Looking forward to the live event this Saturday.. I no longer work on the weekends, so I'll definitely be on for that.. Thank you for the video Jake..
@Crich4678 because I played more Fantasy games like Final Fantasy... Mt son wanted to play duos and asked me to join back in April and I've been playing ever since...
Agreed with your comments that Reload won't probably have more players most of the time, unless there are map changes or weapon changes people want to try. I love Reload, and I'm glad it's thriving. I wish they would consistently change the map each season, however.
Epic should use the reload game mode as a gage to how satisfied the player base is with regular BR. Seems like whenever the game is overly saturated with broken items (like this season), more people play reload then normal.
I play both but have really enjoyed playing reload more. More fights, less wait time between fights and matches, more balanced weapons, and more responsive gameplay, I prefer the bright colors and more simple graphics. It feels really frustrating to many times spend 10 -15 minutes getting in the game and looting only to die in my first fight to some op weapon. I bet I spend hours a month just waiting to get into the game, waiting on Spawn Island along with looting compared to the handful of fights i take per game. I feel like reload makes me a better player.
I think Reload’s popularity shows that simplicity is sometimes better for gameplay. Not everyone wants mythics that erase the skill gap. That’s the problem with the current season.
Reload is a nice reprieve from BR when a break is needed from the meta. I don’t see is overtaking BR. In the end you can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time but you can’t please all the people all the time.
Fr I love not having to worry about having to fight people hovering over me withe the iron man hands and even if I do win the fight I'm insanely low and then a rat comes and finishes me off
I feel like with the two map rotation for sure some people will prefer one map over the other. And I can definitely see them in a way dreading the map they don't like as much, and being disappointed they can't just jump back into the map they like, and potentially just stop playing for the day or stop playing reload for that moment. So I think it could reduce play time since you can't control which map you play. And not everyone wants to just wait or has the time for that. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm sure they'll be looking closely at the numbers.
Reload has already taken over it is regular fortnite no bs items. For anyone who wants to play fortnite and not some messed up version of it they will play reload. I haven't played a single regular mode since reload came out. Reload is what fortnite is meant to be it's just pure fortnite.

God, I wish. I haven't played a single game of BR since Reload came out. I legitimately don't understand why a competent longtime player would still be playing BR, just don't see the appeal at all. I only played Reload in order to get the extra XP for completing daily challenges in order to fill my BP ASAP, but I definitely don’t enjoy it as much as BR. That opinion might change if they make solo available because I hate playing with randoms.
I mean for like 2 years people can just insta destroy my box lmao idk why they think that’s fun for someone who’s been playing for 3 years but whatever and all I play is reload because there’s nothing but sweaty matches in unreal and a lot of moving zone end games
