Years ago I spent some time in Morocco with the family of my Moroccan boyfriend. One of the best memories I have from that time was the dancing - weddings, celebrations, or just for the joy of the music. Dance was similar to a belly dance but it was for everyone - old ladies, children, men, although they did segregate according to sex. Women danced together, men danced together. People danced for love of the music and the dance, not as a performance for an audience. The ladies tried to teach me, but I was a total klutz. I’m an old lady now myself but think I might like to try this dance again, because music makes me want to move, and it looks like fun! It feels like it could be a good daily practice to bring in some joy.
so true! I love you're channel since I discovered it just some days ago. as an instructor I try to teach "clean" movements (for group choreography) but more important is to bring my students to dance from their very own body/perspective/mood and it is soooo beautiful, even if they dance only one or two different movements, but DANCE it, not imitate ❤❤
It's incredible what you've survived and pushed through. And this is so, so inspirational -- totally non-comparable, but developed really bad knees/hips over the past two years, and maybe this could be a good place to start. Bless you.
