Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany: a visit via the German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstrasse)

- Having spent some time in Oberammergau, we now continue on to the next scheduled stop - the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. We are still on the scenic German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstrasse) - a drive that would take us all the way through Bavaria to the end at the Austrian border. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is also well-known for the beautiful murals that are on the walls of so many buildings. Again sadly, because we were on a very strict time schedule, we were only able to stop for about 4 hours in this town but were delighted at just how much we were able to see in such a short time,
As always, Ed does most of the narration that you hear, as well as most of the video camera work; I do the majority of the still photos and then edit and put the final product together to upload to You Tube.
Garmisch was my favorite place when I was stationed in Germany 🇩🇪. I would take a 30 day leave and hike in the mountains including climb the Zugspitze and ride my mountain bike all over. I really miss Germany. A very pretty country.

Yes, I agree, Ivan. I would not mind moving back and living out my final years there. I would be very happy, so much to see and do with so many fascinating countries nearby as well. Beautiful video which month you traveled ?
Thank you. We started the last week of Sept. & were here in Garmisch, during the 1st week of October and wrapped it up in Salzburg, Austria the second week in Oct.
For future reference, skip the Farchant tunnel.....
